ive bought a new smoke detector it has a battery 9 volt and way to hardwire the unit i dont want to hardwire the unit want run off the battery the green light flashes on smoke detector ervery 30 secounds is it ok for the battery only thank you
It’ll run off the battery but keep in mind it’s designed to be hard wired and the battery is a backup. You would be better off to buy one that is designed to be operated by just battery as they use lithium ion batteries that will last much longer. Some for 10 years.
