I used to have a large expensive ball python collection. I had a bad experience with them that is unrelated to the snakes themselves that leaves me bitter towards them... I got in to them because of the cool colors not really caring for a plain old ball python much, I'll never invest in anything but boas from here on as my first mistake was investing in something I am not passionate about. I keep BCI only now and am very happy to not work with anything else :)
You definitely have to go with your heart and passion. Just wondered. I have 12 Balls, myself, as well as a Blood and a Carpondro (now that's an intense snake!). I've had the Balls for a little over a year, and the non eating spells that everyone warns about are now upon us. 3 of my primo females. They were easy til now. I'm sure I have many more experiences down the road. I would love to have a Boa, too, but we have more than enough as it is.
I feel you on this. My wife loves ball pythons, but aside from the clowns I can't get into them. I have 3 BCI at the moment (2 from Chris in the video) and I love them. Along with a couple dwarf retics and a carpet and a dumerils, I'd say the answer is yeah I'd prefer the larger more intense snakes haha
Mine has the nice rust gold color but has black and grew 2 and a half feet in less then a year she's 4 foot 8 inches now and we aren't Sure what type she is cause she looks exactly like a snake from lllreptiles that's 270 called a coastal I will screen shot though
