In this video I share a snow day at my camp at Oliver Reservoir in Bushnell, Nebraska. The light snow really made the area look beautiful. I take a walk around and then get a campfire going to keep warm. I cook up a nice comfort meal for the cold day. Thanks for joining me.
*My name is Brian. I started living full time in a self built camper van in 2014 in my hometown of San Diego, CA. I hit the road full-time in 2015 to pursue seasonal work and travel around the U.S. I find free camping on public land and enjoy photography, hiking, biking, and kayaking in nature. With Thanksgiving just a couple of days away, I have been reflecting on what I am truly thankful for having in my life, and after this video, I am truly thankful for having a toasty warm dwelling for which to call home. There is a special feeling to enjoy when the first snow arrives. Calm, rest, I earned my living as a gardener in CA for thirty years before moving to Montana. My first winter was so serene. I had a couple of months off to rest or cultivate other interests. The quiet beauty still brings my great joy. Your meal was a perfect stick to your ribs warming dish. May you be filled with peace. The Loco Moco looks incredible. I have never heard of it but will have to try it soon. It sounds like the perfect comfort food. I saw online some recipes for it with spam instead of hamburger, that sounds like another healthy version, NOT! I will plan on trying both. Thanks for another great video.

I think our family takes more hikes in the winter than the summer actually. We bundle up and hit a trail, the fresh crisp air is very renewing.

Hey Brian, fantastic video! I love seeing the snow like that clinging to the branches. I love the changing of the seasons also. You can tell how much you love it by the expression on your face while out there walking. That meal with the fire roasted burgers and the rest looked delicious too. It doesn't get much better than eating around a campfire while enjoying nature.

I had a diesel heater in my work truck the last several years of Truck Driving. It always worked great. I didn’t like the tick tick noise from the fuel pump. I’d wear earplugs to sleep. Idling a semi uses about 1 gallon per hr so the diesel heater pays for itself quickly.

I love how you live in the now. I have lived with four seasons all my life and as I get older, I dread winter. I loved that you are excited by the snow.
