I ran SNW Pike, SNW Spoke, SNW Hemmer for Jellyfish Brawl, and it was great, because I didn't have to choose between targeting interceptors or miners, as I got the mitigation for both
Same for me. This is the best use for Hemmer so far that I have found. The usual system I grind for Interceptors doesn't have traders and on my Valdore La'an gives a better boost to attack stats and gives more damage here.
@@caneyebus mantis will “soon” be ftp, and Hemmer is in the mantis refinery. Not sure how realistic pulling all his shards is in a reasonable amount of time, but hopefully that can be increased once feedback is provided.
@@barkman1739 previous videos showed rev getting great pulls with the resources that came from this battle pass. In my experience I didn’t get any full pulls like he did. But pulls are still better. Got a lot more 5 pulls.
I felt the same when I saw that episode. I’ve been sad for weeks. I continue to hold out hope that some how he will be back - some weird twist . It could happen
Interesting to see how the new meta works, not even halfway to unlocking hemmer myself yet. And I avoid using my La’an like the plague as she’s broken and they don’t seem to be able to fix it (ships with her on will go to their original max cargo and stop, they seem to be unable to use any increase she gives)
I think the level of SNW Pike is a bit understated, you did mention it but people don't really understand what he's doing. This crew is immediately relevant for any mixed damage hostile, including battleships, actian hostiles and eclipse hostiles. There is plenty of value in Hemmer for people in the 30s. Actian hostiles specifically have shields so massive that higher level Pike will make a huge difference.
Thx for all the testing at all the various levels. I'm gonna reference these a lot! Look forward to some updated plans. I've jumped up instead of camping at 39. As a light spender I feel it's better.
I went for him in the SLB, I knew I wasn't going to win but I figured I could get myself closer to him, I came in fourth so I'm up to 80 shards so I'm at least in range now. Just hoping that we get more event stores with him in it, or some other way to source him that I can utilize soon.
Rev, I use SNW Pike SNW Spock Tlaan as my primary interceptor crew as a 27 grinding mid 30s (or 28 swarms). I have a feeling in these lower levels SNW Pike Hemmer Chen will probably rock through the 30s. BTW, 2nd on Hemmer SLB and every other shard possible, I still ended up 2 short.... Huh? We need more than Mantis sourcing.
On my Ops 20 account SPike is my primary crew typically I have Spock and Uhura as my best warship is a max Kehra (common 3* interceptor) but I have chosen to camp her to build up 3* and Officers. I already have 3NS to overnight 25k 3* nodes and to collect C lat to pad ALB. (Using Arrok, not a complete jerk) and currently hitting 32 battleships reliably for rep daily.
Found out just how good SNW crew can be low level. On a max jellyfish with SPike, Spock, Uhura. After about 2 hours of hitting 21, 23, and 25 interceptors in mycelium space. I went back for repairs under 5 minutes for about 80 hits mainly 23, and 25. At times I don't feel I need kelvin Pike on the account. But we will see when I get the last 14 shards of Pike if I stick with the original or go to Strange New Worlds in crewing...pun intended.
@@RevDeuce I don't have the extensive math charts that you do. I can only tell you what I've experienced in terms of kills per hull with same lower decks load out in the same ship.
I found Hemmer is better for grinding Exchange Hostiles. I think they have closely weighted kinetic and energy weapons and if you use PMC or PMT, you will be vulnerable to one of them. Hemmer applies extra mitigation to both.
When SNW came out, I think a lot of people did a diservice to the player base by suggesting they were for 50 plus hostile. A lot of folks in my alliance at my level are playing catchup trying to just unlock spike. As a level 40, I use them more than PMC even if they're not necessarily better. I can stack the appropriate stat below decks to get what I need.
Why would you do that? For regular hostile grinding that's only hurting your game play. The reason that was suggested is because thats what they're designed for. Can be used in other applications, but for example, if you choose to grind traders with SNW vs PMC you're only slowing your progression down.
Rev - what about some shorter videos breaking down the math of the various named crews - like Khitomer's Revenge, or a few variations of the all Cadet crew - where they are most useful, etc. I don't know, just a thought... -Shawn
He's now the third officer that I've come across that seems to be a lower that officer. Are you saying that they are a bridge officer with or that abilities? Or can I use them in lower decks and they still have their abilities
you should see if you can use him for lvl 49 traders in sol for heavy traders cause pmt has a terrible time with them. also remember all the mixed damage hostiles are better with spike crews because he works on both damage types. spike on borg for example is a huge increase.
@@RevDeuce It actually popped up as suggested video after this one. I was just wondering if Hemmar was an alternative now because the franklin hunts better with spike than pmt as long as i can keep shields up. Love your videos. I would not be nearly as far in the game if it weren't for you content creators like this but especially you rev.
I wanted to get Hemmer but didn't have enough materials. This arc scopely has been a bit stingy, I didn't unlock any of the rare officers. I got lucky and unlock Strike team La'an or at least I think I was, now I'm starting to think most players were saving up to unlock Hemmer.
Yeah, that was the only one I was looking for. I heard from our people that they were not happy with its performance against heavies but it would have been nice to see the numbers by Rev.
What I am seeing is that the new meta is going to be more ship type specific. PMC allows you to go out and clear a system below a certain power level. The new Pike combo's can clear a higher system of one type of ship. such as swarm space taking pike La'an Spock.
@@jonathanscheib6480 what am looking at doing is using hemmer and the officer that covers the war ship type of whatever sector I am in. So Pike, hemmer and maybe Spock for those interceptor and survey systems.
Lots of comments (100 so far), so I may have missed it, but around 6:30 doesn’t Chen ONLY eliminate 96% of energy damage? Are there perhaps traders with kinetic weapons (Sol/Romulus/Kronos for example), where Hemmer would outperform pmc and pmt?
1 & 2, though, the only officer that really matters in the SNW crew tier was is Pike. The others all can be pretty effective/max your mit at tier 1. (Gets easier higher, obviously)
Pike, Moreau, T'Lann works better than Pike, Moreau, Chen, pmt kills at least 20 more swarm than pmc. I can finish all my swarm daily in one run on 32 swarm. With the enterprise crew I was killing 23, pmt near 60 with only half my hull dammaged on max Franklin, going home full cargo. We stopped people hitting Franklin's on our server by sending our biggest wars ship to sit on the edge and killing anyone going after player ships. They soon stopped trying
After a bit of testing in Ty'Gokor, PMC is still the most efficient for me (Ops 41) for rep grinding, concentrating on Romulan points. Following are test results of 1 hull of my T7, lvl 35 Ent. Pike, Chen, 5: 79K total rep @ 16K per minute. 5, Khan, Gorkon: 72K total rep @ 18K per minute. Spike, SNW Spock, 5: 52K total rep @ 18K per minute PMC: 839K total rep @ 19K per minute (45 min run in total) The main difference here is PMC can easily hit 39's and 40's whereas the other crews were really limited to 38's. All things being equal, PMC is still the most time and cost effective rep grinding crew, at least until I get Hemmer (which, free-to-play, will be a while).
Yeah, this game, which simulates you having a fleet of starships and a Star base run by an AI, constantly forces you to grab a calculator and do algebra to figure out what’s going on. Anyways, didn’t get this guy. Thought he was a PvP guy. Oh well.
Good info, but please stop talking DOWN about the math. This information is critical to understanding the game and how to play well. I appreciate this video (and would like to see more like it)!
Its a crying ass shame they give us cartoon officers and last months officers insisted of una or ortegas shards. Because alot of us are 2 shards from una. And a handful from Ortega. Complete bull. And yes we have completed all events to get the said shards. But scopely wants us to pay for them. And then give us lower decks and SNW shards. BUT NOT STRIKE TEAM SHARDS.
@ claw Argeed, i think this arc is the worst so far, about 95% monetizend, as it seems not even a single rare officer available for F2P or 20€ BP-buyers, a half ship, that will be useless for about i guess half a year (release of the grind path in 2-4 months + the actual grind) , SNW officer sourcing only for mantis buyers, two single seperate officer autions - usually we have had three, all of them for a single officer, increasing the leaderboard-pressure this time to an extreme. For me IMHO not even the event store can save this arc.
Where is the video beating up on Scopely for taking an officer that was in game and established abilities and changing him? This new version is as useless as tits in a frog. The old version had far more value now it’s shit. Better yet let’s do a video and take this new established precedent and get them to change the SNW crew so that it is not ship dependent? Either way this was a horrible move. And yes he is useless in this new format, you don’t need a officer to kill traders PMC works just fine and better for that.
This video suggests you can kill more high level traders with him than without hence not useless. I do agree though it's not a good look to change officer abilities after they release.
let me tell you a little something about this troll based game. if you play right and work hard spend time taking territory, your north star miner can carry about 8,000 rss. so you can not mine with it. you envoys carry a nice amount but, when you are lvl 22n a lvl 13 jelly can come out to your territory and farm all your miners, SO WHY TAKE THE TIME AND TROUBLE TO TAKE TERRITORY, THE GAME IS MADE FOR THE TROLL. WHAT KIND OF ASSHOLES SET A GAME UP LIKE THIS. AND THE JELLY CAN TAKE 25000 AWAY. BUT THE NORTH STAR WITH IT'S 2 FREIGHT TANKS CAN ONLY TAKE 8000. SO THEY HAVE DESIGNED THE GAME FOR THE TROLL BAG OF ASSHOLES. HOW DOES A JELLY CARRY 25000 IN RSS? AND A LVL 13 CAN MAKE IT OUT TO TERRITORY IN A JELLY WHEN YOUR ENVOYS HAVE TO BE LEVELED UP OR HAVE CADET SCOTTY. THE DEV'S ARE CREEPS
