May be it is time for Zelos to sell some of their classic models at all time, like Spearfish, Hammerhead, etc. More than often, the new release is quite niche and cater to a small crowd. Those who miss the release of the models they like will never know when it will release again.

This is an absolutely beautiful watch!! Hands down the design is amazing! I love the font on the dial and the way the lume is applied everywhere practically. LoL!! I do like the crown, to me it's very reminiscent of the fins on a turbofan jet engine, it also seems to follow the rotor design. I love what they've done here. Great review, great presentation. Amazing about Zelos is, that every new release is an improvement. I have an earlier watch Comet with gold carbon dial. New release of this type of dial now available is next level. Same with MOP mosaic. On first ones you could see gaps and not most eye pleasing mosaic. I bought the next release, which was made for Swodfish. It's just amazing, no imperfections, just incredible

Excellent review and can't help but agree with everything you said. I think it's the crown and maybe the dial is just slightly too busy for me but Zelos normally come out with one amazing release each year that I'm like drooling over and this one I'm not sure it's it.

Thank you Shane for a great video. I finally managed to order a Zelos. I hesitated a long time between the Aventurine and Teal but, I have tried to many times to get one of their Aventurine dials without success, I had to go with the Aventurine!

That is an incredible looking watch

6:40 I can relate to that with my burnt orange Zelos Blacktip. I tried very hard to capture the dial effect with my phone in video and picture and at no point did I feel like I was doing the dial the justice it deserved. Similar style dial to this one with the enamel coating. I think the Teal that you picked up will be the Eagle 2 to get but the Artic also looks very nice

This will be🤞my fourth Zelos. They’ve always had something just different enough to make it something special. This Eagle 2 is way different enough to make it super special and I have my countdown timer set to make sure I can get one. All the color ways are something to behold. Even the white with its full lume dial. Zelos rocks, plain and simple!

Well-done presentation. And, once again, this seems like a Zelos I'll drier more from afar than on-wrist…they definitely know how to hit different in a same-same market, but it doesn't quite smash the "shut up and take my money!" button for me.

Seeing a few watches with these open lugs. Reminds me of the flying buttresses (I think that's what they call em) on Ford GTs, I love it. Love that dial, too. I don't love that dial with that case though. I think it's the way the color and shine just kinda terminate into the stark, even tone the bead blast presents. I'd probably prefer a steel case with brushing instead of blasting for this dial. However, the white and probably the meteorite dials should suit me just fine.

Beautiful workmanship on the case. Unfortunately, my preference is for pieces around 42mm. I encountered a stiff FKM strap from another microbrand. The designer claimed it was premium and they sold for $50. I am partial to Hirsch's caoutchouc natural rubber which very soft. Isn't FKM supposed to also be soft and pliable? Any thoughts?

That dial minus the indices but with the step down and hands reminds me a bit of the Helm Miyako. Of course the rest of the case is totally a thing of its own.

I own a few Zelos really like them and were much less cost. Mind you they are NH35&NH34 movements so the price of this watch is justified. I just cant get past the font indices of the outer minute track, love the case though. At 800 dollars US they should be offering at least a 2 yr warranty as well. Looking forward to other releases from Zelos this year.

The crown I think points to the OG DNA of the watches roots and it matches the rotor on the back. I catually like the look. My knit pick is big (at least to me): the hour font does not match the minutes, and it’s especially apparent in the 2 and 3 that kinda bothers me and I’m still deciding on whether or not I want it… side notes: if by chance anybody has the starfighter chronograph, I want it lol

Great review - I’ve got choice anxiety trying to select which one to get! On the blue dial - are the two dial sections at different levels (the outer ring looks slightly higher than the inner section)? If so, I’m assuming the patterned dials like Meteorite are one-piece without any step (just the ring placed on top). I also like the Arctic (cerakote bezel & crown), however the lugs are gunmetal coated which seems to remove the only polished chamfers. Between the models you have seen, which stands out to you as the most impressive dial to match this unique case? Thanks again!

Already saw another review of this. My reaction was, it has a lot of aviation hints, but is mostly inspired by ORIS ProPilot. Nothing wrong with that, nor that numerals (that i dislike) and hands carry a weird Moser vibe. In general, Zelos is growing up in design language. Add to that the known quality, i see Zelos fan boys going high, really high, sky levels... (not that they are not already!). I'm still not fan though, although this case is nice and unique indeed, wow as you said, matched with a wide bezel i dig. But the dial design is a drawback, imo. Thanks for the review Shane, be well mate. PS Did we step on (well) to a new era of movements in microbrands? Miyota (Citizen) shoots non stop last years, Epson (Seiko) in their own pace, plus Swiss, elevate the game. Ain't so?

Still the best on line reviewer! I’m glad it exists, normally I’m a sucker for “the slightly odd” but this isn’t for me. Wouldn’t that case fill with grime if worn daily? Sometime there are reasons for the status quo…..

This is the first Zelos that I really like. Great case and the dial looks fantastic although the other colours weren't as impressive.

Is that a finger print on the inner metal ring of the dial, between the 9 and 10 hour markers?

It looks very cool but it's not for me. Yet glad Zelos is doing this I agree with the nitpick of the ghost date and with the choice of the G100 over a standard miyota or a 2824 clone, such a shame about the ghost date...but there's the G101 which is the same movement without a date function so kinda oversight from Zelos

Zelos and Wise watches put indie watch companies and other micros to shame. What a unique case design, gorgeous dial, and great lume with a solid movement and they even polished titanium!!! For the price point you get so much value.

Certina has a limited edition skeleton dial titanium watch with the pm80. similar case design.. i really like Z but i don't have one yet. this is a cool watch but personally id prefer the miyota with a shorter pw and a much lower price with no ghost date position .

It’s interesting and I’m normally big on Pilots watch, but just one is it doing it with me. I think I like my aviation watch is more traditional. This one has too much flare.

A "Last Starfighter" reference. Nice. One of the first movies to use CGI. Design language is definitely Zelos, but with that crown, it has a Phoibos accent.

Is there a gap between the case and crown when screw down?

This is a great and diplomatically argued review, with lots of worthwhile remarks. Yes, I see the clear argument for that movement, but what a puty it does not exist without a date. I'd be equally happy with a closed caseback, so pretty much the key benefit is good PR plus high beat rate. I don't remember what you said, but this looks like quite a thick watch. That could be down to conscious design and the layered case construction or perhaps the movement isn't that thin? At any rate, i find myself thinking that at the expected price they cpuld also have gone with an SW300 (though trading in some reserve) if that would have made it thinner. Ultimately I an nit arguing against any of the observations on the detail-oriented and intricacy of all the flourishes in construction. I will merely lament that despite all of these efforts, in its very basic aspects I don't find it particularly attractive nor cohesive. So making right all those additional and probably costly aspects still amount to a watch I won't desire, whike those same efforts could have produced something incredibly hard to ignore and immediately impressive. If they'd redesign their nova as an automatic with this level of care, I might finally take a front seat on a Zelos release. On the layered and open worked case I can compare with my experience with the Giorgio Galli (and note that the construction itself is thus not that expensive to achieve). That watch also stays a little too thick for my liking, and it's not down to the movement. Possibly the arms that keep the cylindrical inner case in place just require a minimal thickness while also requiring an opening for an unobstructed view towards the centre of the watch. It is a bit of a wow effect initially, but I find its novelty wears off. Ultimately the watch would have been better with less of this construction and enhanced thinness, even if the current iteration is fun. Also the inner portion is more prone to collect dust and debris, which is nore difficult to clean. We see more watches now that implement recessed portions on their side cases and while these are often a bit shallow and thus express more of a decorative flourish than a construction, I wonder if there isn't a happier middle ground. Giving some context: Delft Watchworks has beautiful scallops slimming the side case, Beaublue follows the cylindrical inner case wedged into outer arms construction, while Moser uses recessed portions to a much better than average effect. So, in conclusion, I'm impressed by how impressed you are with the detailed technical execution, but I'd want a comoleteky different watch and aesthetic to make use of it. I agree that for those into this flieger style this must be an interesting and high quality release.

Don’t like that case design. All sorts of stuff is going to get trapped in between the inner case and lugs like lint, scraps, twigs, nail clippings, strings, crusts, mud, leaves, fur, crumbs, trash, strings, dust, metal shavings, spam, old food, wrappers, loose spring bars, cruft, dead bugs, detritus, sand, etc.

It's ugly
