Been getting a lot of comments about the end of game 3 so wanted to clarify: 1) You can still self target yourself with priority attacks even when Psychic Terrain is up! A lot of people don’t know about this mechanic but if my opponent went for Aqua Jet that turn into Coalossal it would have worked since I didn’t Follow Me. 2) However, as some of you have pointed out, my opponent was likely worried about Follow Me so they went for Surf instead (Follow Me would render Aqua Jet useless) 3) I think the most optimal play that turn is to go for Follow Me and Electric Tera with Eel and Thunderbolt Bruxish. That has a 7/8 chance to OHKO. But I did not know my calcs there at all which is why I didn’t go for it.
It’s so amazing to me that you can see a team and be like… “oh, this is June Magoos team from the 2019 Nigerian Regionals, and if I remember correctly her T-Tar was missing his middle finger, other than that, same team!”
Aaron's memory for team usage blows my mind. It's one thing to remember a team in preview, its another thing entirely to remember who used it and how well they did in any given number of competitions with it. Crazy
That surprise Population Bomb from Maushold and Aaron's "I've made a terrible mistake" face were great. Surprise sets are always fun; that kind of brilliant counterplay to meta expectations always made sense to me in closed teamsheet formats, especially in Bo1. I really love Maushold. It's probably my favorite Pokémon from Gen 9. It's just so versatile and enables so much. I have always loved support Pokémon, but Maushold's added danger as a potential offensive threat just elevates it that much.

I love the eel line, I used Eelektrik back in Reg A as disquake user, very fun to spam chip damage while getting para chance as well as being really bulky

I'm guessing the Bruxish didn't aqua jet in game three, because of the psychic terrain. Maybe the player wasn't aware they could self target, or they were afraid of being locked into a priority move on the following turn. If I recall it was scarf.
I’d been using this build for online raids. It’s so underrated, I could hardly get in a game at first, but they eventually learned just how useful it is alongside all those hariyama knockoffs!

Thanks so much for the content. They couldn't self jet because you had Indeedee with Follow Me pressure. Honestly, can I be honest? I win some games, and I lose some games, and I can be hard on myself. Seeing you, literally one of the most decorated players in the world, miss something like that... it makes me realize that hey, I'm not alone in missing obvious things. If even Aaron misses it, well, I can't be too hard on myself! I don't mean this in a bad way - it's sincere. You are AMAZING and so much better at this than anyone I know, and even you make mistakes in the heat of the moment! Thanks for reminding is that even the greats are human.
I adore seeing NFE Eviolite mons in VGC. I always try to fit them onto teams. My newest fav is Luxio: intimidate, with rain dance, fake tears, twave and volt switch. Lots of fun on rain teams and a hidden rain settee people dont expect.

Not only are you able to predict the moves in a pokemon match with incredible degrees of accuracy--When I said "why is he thunderbolting a ground/dragon pokemon?" I was greeted with "you might be wondering why I did that" 🤣🤣🤣 I wish I could subscribe twice.
I swear there was a TCG deck that used Eelektrik specifically to setup, though it's been a while so I don't quite remember what it did. Edit: Dynamotor; Once during your turn (before you attack), you may attach an electric energy card from your discard pile to 1 of your benched Pokémon.
In game 3 I think your opponent used surf instead of Aqua jet because you could have redirected its Aqua jet with follow me and it would’ve failed to hit indeedee due to psychic terrain.
There is nothing more reassuring then seeing i’m not the only one who forgets about psychic terrain blocking priority moves and there is ZERO venom in that. Genuinely makes me feel better since i forget about it 99% of the time!
21:36 In real time I was like word pin middle sounds fine, but then it hit me… rock blast was already super effective stab and good versus 3 mons overall, and none of the team is particularly weak to bug
