Ingredients
12 doughnuts
Yeast Mixture
Yeast - 2.5 grams
Water - 3 Tablespoons
Sugar - 1 Teaspoon
Dough
Flour - 250 grams
Milk - 80 ml
Sugar - 30 grams
Melted butter - 30 grams
Egg - 01
Method
In a small dish add yeast, sugar and water and let it rest for 10 minutes.
In a bowl add flour, sugar, milk, egg, melted butter and the activated yeast mixture and knead well for about 10 minutes. Let it rest for 1-2 hours (until the dough becomes double in size). Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and gently roll out to 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a cutter. Heat oil in a deep fryer. Slide doughnuts into the hot oil. Turn doughnuts as they rise to the surface. Fry the doughnuts on each side until golden brown. Dip the doughnuts into your favourite toppings.
