13:26 - As Techies main, if you see mine somewhere around the fountain, it most likely means that we somehow capped our mine charges (maybe while dead) so we decided to just put one random mine there so we don't waste our recharge timer and mana, anticipating that we'll get it back by the time we reach our destination.
I'm still abusing Jakiro in every role. The Frost Breath facet works on Blood Grenade ticks and Dual Breath ticks, so you dookie about 800 guaranteed ranged damage at level 2 and then even more if you've got windlace or boots to chase. With level 4 E, a Blood Grenade is doing about 350 damage, so they're useful through to the late game as an extra DoT.

i've played LOADS of techies and i have the best luck using mines in team fights for the magic resistance debuff. you can bind mines to a mousewheel scroll and practically place 3 at once after blasting off, and the shard is super helpful when the enemy carry gets turbo fed
The most useful part of this video were all the details of heroes that people on your team typically don't know about. Like Monkey King getting stunned for 4 seconds when his tree get scut and teams accidentally waking up enemies when ET sleeps them. I'd love a video that covers little things that you'd have to read the wiki to know. Love your videos! -Kenzie
Bounty can actually jungle and wave clear pretty well now with facet 1 since Shuriken will damage all that it goes through. Just aim for the furthest away creep (ranged in creep wave, whatever in jungle camps). You will hit all creeps, if done properly. So in passive games you can farm enemy jungle and do other BH things to be annoying.
Please find a place for lina with facet 2 though. At least in 2k-3k games I rarely feel as though a lina pick is horrible. Specialists I think could play her at as high as A tier. The damage she gets on her dots it insane!
you should try and play some Pos 4 snapfire i think its just absolutely broken with the 2nd facet to improve her Q i went 12-6-35 with her it wasnt even a close game at all
hey, got some questions regarding 4 position, while u may say that pos5 heroes like lich and warlock (particularly lich in this case coz i've been playing lich on 4-5) are going to be punished as rank goes higher, but in what way are those particular heroes get punished? i've been playing lich pos 4 in a 5man stack paired with a mars 3 (i get that solo pubs and party pubs are different in the sense of communication) and honestly i felt like the laning presence is really strong with the nukes he can dish out which can work on solo queue, and it scales pretty well in a sense that teamfight get rather chaotic and chain frost are really good in those fights and it also can be used to pick off sbd as well with shard+skill 3 which i think makes him a decent 4. so my point is i was wondering what makes lich not an ideal 4 position hero? or maybe what qualifies a hero as a pos 4?
my 5 man stack are roughly on 3k mmr avg so roughly still on legend territory, which might as well mean that it may be not punished so i was wondering what might punish me as a 4 lich, i guess
Flow morph is really high skill floor support that’s a little underwhelming. I’ve been spamming to learn and I have more consistency with pos 3 just relying on the fact that you have a billion HP without ruining damage. I just wish the cast times for all of morphs spells weren’t so ass or if morph base move speed wasn’t ass or if base mana wasn’t ass. Morph is just a lot of ass right now and if it gets fixed pos 4 is prolly gonna be broken.
I'm having good success with WD in immortal (6k) with going voodoo restoration lvl 1/2, then maxing cask and maledict - this is with the cask facet. The sustain from the restoration makes you a very good trader and not having festeration gives you a lot of sustain later on which is very good, especially for sieging. Item wise I go stuff like solar crest, holy locket, glimmer, greaves, shard, force staff - I very rarely go aghs. EDIT: Brainlagged, this is obviously a pos 4 list, and I'm talking of WD 5 here.
I have found great success with Dawnbreaker. It is so frustrating to see top and bot waves pushing to our side and whole team is just playing all mid. With Dawnbreaker, you don't get flamed for playing sidelane
I am a Dawnbreaker enjoyer but she is an offlaner, not a soft support. She has a great laning stage and a huge kill potential at level 2. So you may think she can be great as soft support. But there are 2 problems. First is mana and you need a ton of it as soft support. Second is simple: she truly shines once she gets the scepter and holy locket or crimson guard. She becomes a Superwoman. But this requires 6500 coins minimum. Disperser cost basically. You won’t get it before 30min as soft support in a regular game. I know it as a use disperser a lot as soft support (Lina, Hoodwink, Abaddon) and even with a good laner and great wave clearer as Hoodwink, it’s hard to get those 6500 coins in less than 30min.
@@l0uffe I rarely buy large items like Crimson or Scepter. I buy every time Arcane Boots and Locket. And after that Euler, Vladimir, Glimmer or Pavise.
@@Siroitin Which is kind of logical as a soft support, somehow. Nevertheless, the scepter is a mandatory item with her. She becomes far more relevant with it, like a Pangolier, for example. 60% evasion, free movement and 240 healing during 5 seconds, that's huge compared to static 190 healing during 2 seconds. Without mentioning that holy locket impact is higher, reaching a 312 healing per second during 5 seconds. Crimson guard is relevant when you land, as you cast it immediately after the stun. That item is far better than Solar Crest on her.
@@l0uffei just go greaves on her and then depends on the game some classic supp items like glimmer, locket or if I have money I go scepter but i wouldnt say its mandatory. I only play her as pos4 and have a positive winrate
Great video content, as always (you are my topmost dota youtuber thanks to your support-first point of view). An important suggestion, however: it is incredibly hard to jump around your video (which, for one which is 1h+ long, is prone to happening). Next time try to put all heroes at a "TODO" category, so that we can use it when hovering as a "progress bar" so as to focus on specific heroes we might be interested in. Thanks anyways!
Pugna comes with the benefit of getting aghs and shard and having almost more support utility than some item builds vs the right comps, having aghs on him completely turned around a game against a fed bristle for instance because suddenly his damage just wasn't happening. Obviously, this requires money but in a pub environment it should not be too difficult to be beating up many lanes. Definitely a bit greedy, and an argument of ok just play it core, but he definitely has value in both being able to save or reduce a lot of the damage your team is taking. Also he is a fast lil guy running around the map, and that brings in the dopamine.
I love Shadow Demon 4 this patch, been spamming it a lot. Maybe it's just my games around Archon V, but I get to save my out of position core when Axe calls them, and I get so many Axe players in my games, which also applies to many other hard disable heroes. Also R Purge is insane, cause everyone is building Ghost Scepters, Euls, Glimmers and none of my cores ever able to build Nullifier. Coming online with basically free Nullifier on level 6 is just really strong, sometimes it suits the game so well you can rush aghs, and it feels great to have back to back purges! Also during laning people really underestimate how hard E hits, people pushing into me thinking they get an easy support kill until they get 4/5th E stack and get free port to the fountain
Definititely think Jakiro should be on there, having a lot of success in low level pubs punishing the opposition carry early game. might just be a low level thing. Thanks for a great vid!
sven 5 for sure S tier in most drafts, i havent had much issue with tilting because its become fairly normal for my region and bracket. feels way too overtuned when you get a lead because everyone gets these huge barriers and speed boosts way too early and theres not much you can do about it. plus you are pretty much able to build whatever the team needs
Lol techies with the meme build 9 skadies is nasty. 😂 Been having a lot of fun with AA pos 4 right click roamer build. Just stacking slow, death rime and armor reduction for the cores to delete their matchup quickly and roaming again.
Play full str waveform stun tank support for as long as you can then when you start feeding shift agi for full cdr and morph useful hero. You can just fully tank towers for the first 15 min of game for free so abuse it. Kinda ass tho, but I’m only on my 27th game of spamming it.
The fact that Grimstroke's Fine Art only does a single instance of damage, even if you go through the effort of weaving it, really sucks. Feels like a lot of effort for a wasted payoff. Makes me feel like the only reason Grim was doing well was because of melee initiators like Pango or Sven being your only option for a brief window several patches ago.
Low mmr take: Enchantress is fine without creeps. She can heal pos 3 and trade with enemies while being unkillable (if we are not speaking about ganks from enemy midlaner). But yes, I agree that she is better as pos 5. Maybe it is some sort of confirmation bias but if I am a pos 3 and have pos 4 Ench I usually win cause at least I can lane. If I have something like Venge, Lion or Grimstroke in my low mmr bracket I usually feel like I am playing 1 vs 2 cause my lane partner is always dead due to unknown and incomprehensible reasons. But maybe I just play better cause seeing Ench as my support inspires me while seeing Grim makes me want to break my items before creeps )))
enchantress is way better than her win-rate reflects. If you take the healing facet, max wisps and impetus and build witchblade for lockdown (or mageslayer / orchid / forcestaff depending on the game); if you take spellbound (which is more popular) don't build a dragon lance, get lvl 3 enchant (for creeps) with a point in heal and max impetus. Then you can build any oblivion staff upgrade, crystalys (or another oblivion staff upgrade) and pretty much one shot people. You can still build hurricane pike -> hex later, but in the early game dragon lance is a waste of an item.
I think Jakiro could also be on this list. They're pretty decent in the lane (better in the safe lane though), have waveclear, building damage, low CD stun and all. They're quite bad vs Rubick or Clockwerk and some others, but overall feel good.
I think willow is still very strong but agree with your rating just because playing her properly requires some specialization. Prenerf she was a monster, postnerf she’s slept on.
Shaman wasn't picked a single time during the riyadh masters nor was Nature's prophet (although he's C tier here) Not entirely sure how you placed shaman as first pick first ban in the pro scene, but pros didn't even bother picking him, and bans were less than a handful
Shadow demon is a mid hero now. I know that no one thinks he is but with his menace and images he can kill any hero at nearly any time rush a witchblade in mid and roam kill and push
It's really funny, I've had decent success with it. You max dispersion for the damage amp and his single target is really absurd. I was building treads - maelstorm - manta - and then upgrading to gliepnir or mjolnir this is probably not ideal tho, what is your full build?
My build has been pt's, witchblade, atos into gliepnir then I'll get mask of death for sustain in the fight then manta. I've also tossed in an orchid from time to time that gives to more attack speed and because you are really bursting down targets orchid can amp up a lot of damage. It's work really well mid into pretty much any matchup. And if you didn't have a hard lane you and stack and clear creep camps from lane with your shadow poison. I know it sounds crazy to play a hero without a real stun and known for being a hard support as a right click damage dealer but 2% damage amp on every attack and stacks with images adds up fast
Completely disagree with spirit breaker in low mmr. I'd put him all the way down in despair, permanently. It's very hard to win games with a spirit breaker on your team in low MMR unless you absolutely smash early, which you won't, because you have a spirit breaker support.
@@allesrelativ13 What I've read, as of June 2024 (link below) Archon 1 (~2.3k? mmr) is average, around 48th percentile. So, 48% of players are at Archon 1 and below. Legend 1 around 70th percentile, so that is a tough bracket to get through, with 20% of players roughly. Ancient 1, 85th percentile. Divine 1, 94th percentile. So, those top brackets, start getting really small. Then you get to the pros, Immortal, and you are in like an entirely new bell curve bracket all of a sudden. If I'm not mistaken 2.5% up there, which, way fewer than that are actually pro, so it is broken down all over again, with the range between the low mmr on that bracket and the high being pretty substantial I believe. In position 5. Very bad itemization, super good casters. Hoodwink shows the way. As position 4 in pubs, you need a hero enjoying Gleipnir, Disperser, Hurricane Pike, Orchid, Mage Slayer, all these hybrid items, half support, half carry. Lich and Disruptor are super bad for that. That’s also why Grimstroke is low. I love Grimstroke, he is position 5 A-tier like Lich and Disruptor. But not a good position 4 at all.
@@l0uffe I think you got pos wrong my friend. Pos 5 has to itemize to protect themselves or others *Force staff/cape euls. Pos 4 in some cases auras if Off is not going or disable items like orchy/euls. Disruptor and lich defi not gonna for orchy like you mentioned. Cheers. *Dis one of my most play heroes
@@ZackChannel It's all about the kind of items. Position 4 needs hybrid items (in pubs). Position 5 only defensive or strictly support items. Try to right click or use on attack effects with a Lich, a Grimstroke or a Disruptor. It's atrocious. Once again, take Hoodwink as the benchmark for position 4 items. You never buy a glimmer cape with her, nor a aeon disk, rarely euls or scythe of vyse and aether lens is not a priority at all. Then, keep in mind movement speed and wave clearance, too. Was like you at start. Now I really consider 4 and 5 as different beasts, as said at the end of the video. None of my soft supports are in my hard supports short list and vice-versa. Disruptor, Grimstroke or AA are all in my hard support list with Undying and this kind of hero. Shaman is the exception, should say "was" cause of the base stats (high hp). Those stats have been nerfed but, still, he has the full kit to play offlane and be effective in mass fights and pushes during the early game.
please, make it visible which hero you are currently talking about. if one cant pay undivided attention and misses a bit, then wont be able to tell which one you talk about, especially since you rarely use the name of the hero again. this would be better for listening to your video while doing something.
Yo skywrath auto animation is garbage and the projectile speed is poop. You really only auto to combo with a nuke so the auto and q land simultaneously. You need to rush bottle and void stone for euls on sky so you can use the q to last hit creeps.😅🎉
Always funny to see KOTL placed low on these tier lists.... I'm on a 9 win streak with this hero, playing position 4, and is just a menace.... I just dont understand why they think this hero sucks as support
In high level pubs it's a grief, as it destroys lane equilibrium. This is fine if you're playing with pos 3s that don't care about equilibrium like dark seer, or underlord, but other offlaners that need a strict equilibrium to farm like bristle, wk, or wind suffer from having a kotl. But in low level pubs, you can play just about anything and find success if you're good enough.
Veno is useless, in fact most support are now useless. Nothing seem to work anymore. I use to do ok or good even when my entire team was crushed, but now nothing feels right. I can’t tell I won a single game in this mete. My team, sure they won the game but never me, I just happen to be in the team that won. I loved -laying veno for years, now it is useless, WD, useless, undying the same, but we got those invincible heroes because that is always good to have… 6-700 dps that can’t be targeted or attacked, with3-400 range what a nice game to have…. Well not a game, because dota is not a game anymore but that is beside the point.
