guilty gear: old man finds last bit of hope he thought he lost blazblue: guy gets reverse isekai'd to save the world and literally nobody is capable of thanking him
@@zeehero7280😢😢😢 Consider Rachel "remember nameless somebody important", but don't fully know who is that guy, it felt as if she was experiencing hallucinations and suffering from some kind of mental illness in the eyes of others. ;-;
I think its more about overall message than anything. Guilty Gear's ending for Sol is that theres no need to strive for perfection, that in finding what your purpose is you can achive your own form of a perfect world even if it isnt true perfection. Blazblue is about how its worth fighting for a cause you believe in or to protect what you love, even if your contribution won't be remembered and your name lost to time. The effect you had, your existence will still create ripples and eventually; waves.
Ragna’s isn’t only about chasing your own goals, even if you aren’t remembered. It shows that your actions show more than your name, that even if you think you’re meaningless or forgettable no matter what you do, you aren’t. This point is exemplified through Rachel remembering his existence, despite not remembering who Ragna is. She remembers that he did something extraordinary important, and she thanks him.
Ragna fighted against fate itself, for a world that only gave him suffering, and for the sake of their friends and siblings. I am glad that Sol got something for himself, but I wish Ragna could have some form of return. I am pretty sure that despite everything, he is satisfied and happy with his achievements, but as the audience, I can only feel a bittersweet taste that I wish I could change it. Nonetheless, the ending of CF makes me believe we may have something one day, even if Mori say otherwise.
...Mori confirmed years ago that the a [redacted BlazBlue project] is on the way, for the tenth anniversary. And yes, this was when Dark War and BBTAG were both already known.
@@ChevalierSilver He didn’t become the Azure. But several things he might have possibly become include but not limited to a Possibility, a bird, outright nonexistent, him but not technically him, and him but behind the Gate.
@@ChevalierSilver to be fair the convoluted stuff is the lore. If the storytelling is good enough, you'd be able to follow without knowing the tidbits of info.
Jokes aside, I do hope we do get more Blazblue soon in the form of a new FG, if even just to get more closure to everything that happens post-CF. Here's to more years of Blazblue lads.
@@SwordOfBlaze I wouldn't say it'd turn out bad, but just different depending the direction Mori wants to take the series. Strive has simpler iterations of their characters, but that isn't necessarily a bad thing. Plus as long as the VN story aspect is still the same then I'm all for it.
I like to imagine ragna got inverse isekai'd to the normal world, and he's just some random normal guy in Australia who vaguely remembers having a sword. I know he isn't Australian but still, he's the only man who would realistically survive Australia without being native to it
@Timothy Harris twice ? TWICE!!!!!!??? *crying in infinite possibilities with Ragna in it.* dude, he suffered and always will be suffered. The fact that he goes to the Boundary is freeing him from the crapsack world of his.
Saddest takeaway is that by Ragna's ending being that he has to get rid of everyone's dreams of an "ideal world" so they can actually live in the real one, he had to kill (possible) wife's dreams of having a husband. To save the world, he had to embrace forever having no GF.
@@ArmityleOfTheChaos I'm mostly just referring to the part where Ragna has to take away everyone's desires, and while Saya is the core of that, he does have a moment with Rachel where he does it because she doesn't want him to sacrifice himself.
Ragna saved everyone, dind't get a woman, and was forgot by everyone. Sol saved everyone, finally got together with the woman he loved (or kinda), and is now living happily with her, while his friends are also happy but maybe if we got a new blazblue, ragna may be saved by someone, maybe rachel
Sol's ending was beautiful. But who's this Ragna guy? Sounds like a perfect name for a fighting game protagonist. I can see it now. Spiky white hair, a long red trench coat, and a giant sword. What a awesome character that be.
Ragna destroyed himself for all. Sol killed many for one. In a way they both different positions in the same goal. But their thinking admirable in their ways. But it would be great to see Ragna in a different light. Or in another form.
I wouldn't mind there being another concert since Blazblue hasn't had a concert since 2014 before BBCF came out. But yeah, I agree that there needs to be a GGxBB crossover sometime soon.
Two characters their respective world's decided to crap on at every opportunity but they both fought tooth and nail for anyway. One finally getting the happy life they always wanted while the other wiping themselves from existence to only be remembered by the one immortal presence who could never admit to him that she legitimately cared about him
BBCF deadass has one of the best endings that I know of. While GGS gave good closure to gorilla man's story, it doesn't hit me nearly as much as Ragna yeeting himself from reality
What makes Ragna's ending even more of a drag is that once you factor out the whole destroying cauldrons plot point Ragna ends up being one of the most normal characters in the BB story. Dude doesn't want to deal with anyone's crap and just want to make a quick buck to get something to eat.
I really like CF ending actually. I love it in fact. The whole franchise was about a Man who made himself an enemy of the world just to save it. Ragna was literally fighting fate itself for a “Hopeless” World. Where the only way to save it was through some sort of tremendous sacrifice. Ragna was living through multiple lives and had face multiple agony through his adventure. He have to carried multiple burdens for sake of his friends and family. The reason why I loved this ending SO MUCH is that it doesn’t feel like a cop out. The whole story was base off the need of sacrifice and cruelty to save a “world” like this and it got it.This ending made me feel like Fate itself was still into play while Ragna was trying to succeed. Nothing came easy to him and that why I appreciate this ending. And I feel like Ragna’s Sacrifice was an amazing ending. It show how unironically realistic this game is. Ragna’s sacrifice wasn’t in vein and everything he’s done won’t be forgotten by the player base. Some animes like Gundam IBO did the same thing. Where the heroes dies or loses but they succeed in what they was fighting for BUT What makes Ragna ending better in my opinion is that Ragna didn’t feel cheated, Ragna was truly happy and willing to do what he needed to do to save everyone. They didn’t discriminate him to the end or make what he did empty. He wasn’t acknowledged for it but still. Ragna fought for the world that everyone was trying to obtain. I think people can’t say that this ending was underwhelming or not impactful I think the ending just makes all BlazBlue Fans love and appreciate Ragna even more. Yea the ending is bittersweet for Ragna but thinks of everyone he saved. Thinks of how his character mature and grew. just think about it Edit: I love that sword scene too. It’s just represents so much of what he been through but he never gave trying to do what right. His sword just in ground, going unappreciated it’s durability as people don’t know who it belongs to. Rachel, on the other hand while not knowing who it belongs to, can appreciate and admired everything the weapon done
Sol deserves it after nearly 200 hundred years of "kill wives". Now, dude is living a quite happy retired life with a huge wholesome family lmao (even his rival become his son in law KEKW). Meanwhile Ragna, poor guy, dude didn't deserve it at all. Ragna is actually such a good and kind character in a game where majority of the casts are such assholes (and yanderes lmao). Justice for Ragna, atleast he manage to hug one last time with his loli vampire waifu 😂
Sol now has to take the kids and grandkids to mcdonalds and to Chuck E cheese Ky is embarrassed while the Dizzy, Sin, Elphelt and Ram enjoy it with JackO. Sol is simply teasing Ky all the while Thats what sol would do.
Yup, the world Ragna bailed out was by no means capable of saving itself, with even much of the other cast clinging onto a fleeting desire to push their ideals onto the Master Unit.
With the dimension shenanigans from both series, there's this unrealistic thought I have that Ragna's gonna appear in GG somehow. Maybe it'll finally kickstart the long awaited crossover.
Being Ragna is suffering and I can't think of a MC in the FGC who gets it worse. Mogged by half the cast and then erased. And that's not including those other timelines in the first game. No one deserves Head Pats more. Ragna and MMZero trading notes when?
I made a Fighting Game Protag Suffering list, and Ragna somehow had everything bad some of the highest tier of Suffering Characters like Ash Crimson, Jin Kazama, Liu Kang, and etc and all happened to him. All of it....
While I'm glad Sol gets a happy ending after all the trials and hardships he's gone through, it's sad that Ragna can't enjoy a happy ending in comparison to the other BlazBlue Protagonists (Naoto in Bloodedge Experiance and BlazBlue, Es in The XBlaze Series, Celica in The Phase Shift Series and Mai in The Remix Series all had happy endings).
Does Celica really count if her sister and friend died, Hakumen’s in the Boundary, her brother in-law is branded as a criminal, and she’s fated to be killed by the very person who’s responsible for all of the above?
@@MercurialSpider Yeah, I should've paraphrased that better. It's just that before The Sister was murdered by Terumi, she lived a happy and fulfilling life with Ragna, Jin and Saya. This even applies to Celica as a Chrono Phantasma. Although it was sad that she died, she wasn't in pain and she got to see Ragna one last time and was happy she met Jin, Noel and everyone.
@@neardarkroad1347 It’s definitely a happy ending for The Prime Contact A.K.A Saya, A.K.A Noel. She was able to change the ending of the nightmarish story that kept repeating time and time again.
I just realized that both ragna and sol story lines have reached conclusion, and that might mean we can finally get GG vs BB, remember arc system said themselves they know fans want it but they won't do it until story lines are completed
@@chronosanaki5174 at some point during BBTAG support in one of interviews they were asked if they add guilty gear characters, their response was something like "we know fans want blazblue/guilty gear crossover but guilty gear story arc is still ongoing" don't remember what interview obviously just remember they did mentioned possibility of a crossover when both games current arcs are finished
0:25 I have seen none of these characters except the owner of that sword like once or twice. This tiny scene combined with the music hits so hard though, holy shit
This is probably crazy talk, but I want Ragna in STRIVE DLC. I know it's unlikely, but how insane would it be if his erasure from existence in Central Fiction got him sent to the Guilty Gear universe? I feel like crazier things have happened at this point.
Ragna literally existed to suffer, and only way to end the suffering he was in and caused via existing was stop being. Being Ragna sucks, its sucks so hard
Sol: Gets a very happy ending living with Jack-O. Ragna: *Ragna.EXE has been deleted from "BB" File* ArcSys: Perfectly balanced. As all things should be.
Ragna is the gigachad. sacrificed everything for the people and world he cares about. Had to suffer all his life and be chased around as an outlaw and forced to buy cat people food.
Ragna was a kind man born in a Jerkassed Universe, his brother Jin, cut his arm because he deserves such treatment in excuse of because He Can. So Ragna decided to make himself an asshole in a puzzling plot.
My favourite character from Blazblue is Jin, but after spoiling myself what happened in CF i never could get myself to play it (i'm one of those weirdos who cares about stories in FG) because Ragna was such a chill and nice dude, i could never like an ending like this for him, he deserved better. i much prefer "dead and remembered" or "alive and forgotten" not the worst part of two concepts goddammit. I hope if there's a blazblue in the future (maybe they'll do one if CF with rollback is successful) we can see Ragna return, even if the other characters still don't remember him i just want the dude to be alive and keep hearing him scream like Gintoki
I hope, if Blazblue ever gets a new main installment, that they don't find some bullshit way to bring everyone back and move forward. I hope they do a full reboot, whether that means retelling the events of the series with a few changes or a completely new direction. Blazblue's story may be a mess, but Ragna's sacrifice was absolutely beautiful. A man who was beaten by fate and the world, who experienced tragedy after tragedy, who saw and faced the worst that humanity had to offer... and yet, still had so much faith and love in himself to surrender not just his life, but the memory he ever existed to mend it all. I don't want this incredible story, this beautiful ending to be ruined by some bullshit resurrection.
Agreed but we have too many reboots remember the CS makes and then the reboot that happened in the 4th game i prefer a new generation of fighters and move foward in timeline CT to CF should be bundled in a collection but the next game needs to be Tekken 3 advancement in terms of plot
I mean, the ground work for his return was kind of shown at the end of BBCF. With how the game briefly mentions alpha-01 who seems to be some sort of combination of Ragna/Nu. She was supposed to be in dark war. I could see the character being use as something almost like a plot device to bring Ragna back, if the games continued.
BlazBlue needs to pull a 3rd Strike & jump like 15 years or more into the future & wipe the slate clean with a brand new roster of characters with like 4-5 legacy characters returning
If you look at alternative dark war they are willing to do something new like how nu became XIII after ragna erased himself from existence she kinda became his successor he even calls Rachel rabbit and wears his coat
I just don't want Blazblue to constantly expect its players to have read all of their supplementary content and spin offs to understand their convoluted mess of a story in future installments
I think it’s so interesting how different yet similar these characters endings are. Both characters are staples of Arcsys, both have suffered a lot through their lives (though I’d have to give it to sol for most fucked life), and are “forgotten” at the end of their stories. Sol Badguy is literally dead at the end of strive, he is no longer gear at all, but now fully human as Fredrick, finally free from his curse. Only the people at the White House would know what happened, and I think would let him finally rest. Ragna is literally forgotten, willing to do what must for his family and friends. I kinda wouldn’t mind the next game not having these guys in their games, even though I love Sol and I think Ragna deserves a lot better for what he’s done, but maybe letting these guys rest (at least till DLC) would be a harsh but really cool way to merge gameplay and story.
How weird is it that Street Fighter can't end its plotline despite it mostly being "Evil dictators doing mad science shit and Ryu want get strong but strong bad if not head empty"... ...but Arksys can end two insanely overcomplicated and metaphorical fighting game arcs in under a decade?
Because the only thing SF and those have in common are that they are japanese fighting games. Since its conception, both bb and gg always had a story it wanted to tell. The narrative was always just as much as important as the actual games. Meanwhile, Street Fighters was one of the very first fighting games to even exist. Due to it being one of the first of its kind, the emphasis was predominantely focused on the game itself rather then the story. And due to it's iconic nature, it makes it harder for Street Fighters to properly conclude its story like Blazblue and Guilty Gear, because it had a completely different design philosophy from the start. Nobody is really expecting the Bowser kidnapping Peach plotline to conclude in the Mario series, so you shouldn't really expect any different from Street Fighters.
That's because they did to move the story on remember 3rd strike that was pose to be the new generation but everyone hated it so it was basically stuck in limbo storyline wise to 5 and 6
2 heroes... Both undeserved yet in the end they gave it their all for those who'd never truly understand them... Sol returning to the life that was forcibly taken long ago after nearly killing himself in place of another for the sake of the world, while for Ragna... A man who was hated by the masses... All that remains is a weapon and an aura of one who'd never give up in the face of adversity... Because he did what he knew was right for everyone else in the end... Even if it meant he'd completely disappear from existence... Both true heroes... even if the paths they've carved for themselves weren't ones viewed in good light...
Literally bawled my eyes out on Ragna's ending. Also I feel Rachel, Imagine remembering memories of someone you love but you can't even recall if they ever existed.
Guilty Gear: Well, Sol, after nearly 200 years of suffering, here's your happy ending. Blazblue: Sorry Ragna, but the world would quite literally be a better place without you, so you gotta go buddy.
@Timothy Harris at least she stopped greifing him and gave him the warmest embrace. The only and cutest Rachel x Ragna moment we would ever get. A goodbye.
According to dark war *holds backs the tears* his sacrifice inspired nu-13 to become a bit like him, a bit like *holds back even more tears* himeko inspiring Kiana after she became Herscher of the void, ironically himeko's mentor was called ragna
I'm just happy that Sol got his happy ending, he deserves it and everyone want this for him. It's meaningful and hits you in the feels. Meanwhile, my favourite ship I have been supporting since the first game was crushed in BlazBlue when Ragna sacrificed himself. I still can't bring myself to finish CF for this reason and seeing the contrast hit me in the gut.
Ragna just does an Ash Crimson which is excessively depressing. Sol gets wife, life good. Ragna didn’t even get to pull, he was so busy constantly fighting for his life. He got no biches AND he doesn’t exist anymore, gotta pour one out for him.
That's depressing really, he wasn't even looking for a woman, he really just wanted his family back (and SANE). Rachel was the wife that just wanted the best for him, even if she was tsundere towards him. A forgotten hero against all odds and against his own will with literally mostly "EVERYONE POINTING THEIR KNIVES AT HIS THROAT" literally blaming him for a crime he didn't even commit and knowing it. True Sigma!
Honestly, Ragna wiping himself from existence was probably the best ending for him. Even in a better world without Terumi or İzanami, he would still get fucked over because of Amaterasu.
Ragnas ending IN MY OPINION was way more impactful. He literally had to sacrifice himself to save everyone else as he is the CENTRAL FICTION. Anytime an MC has to do that, people either change their ways or try to bring them back. Sol didnt have to even do that.
If Blazblue gets a new game, I honestly do want it to be Jin, Noel, and Naoto to be the main characters. It’s a slim chance it’ll happen, but I think it truly should happen.
I think I need to keep it up with bb lore, seems interesting. And I feel a bit disappointed with gg. They were very detailed upon xxac, changed focus on xrd, and basically chosen a small slice of main chars to get closure.
Strive is a closure for Sols story, not the entire franchise. Which is a good way to Handel it, because the four hour story mode doesn't give Daisuke and the team enough time to tie up or do multiple plotlines from different characters.
@@rachetmarvel931 it closes I-No's as well, and moves the whole That Man storyline forward a little bit, which should help pull everything else together
I wouldn't say Ragna's ending was a 100% downer. At least he made Rachel cry in the end. I see this as an absolute win! As a guy who followed & loved BB lore for years now, I *need* to get into GG lore sometime in the future. I kinda have the means too since I have: 1. The Missing Link (Switch) 2. XX Reload (Steam) 3. XX Accent Core Plus R (Steam & Switch) 4. GG2 Overture (Steam) 5. Xrd Sign and just recently Revelator (And Rev 2) (Steam)
They both has a great ending Sol-fake his death in the end Ragna-literally erase him self from existence just for the good of the others without no one remembering him except the members from the 6 heroes and marakumo unit Its kinda sad BBDW will close soon i mean i havent even play it yet
@@Solbrave00 no he erase from him existing in that world so the world entirely has been recreate without ragna So that means he still exist inside the void and rachel is trying to search for him So that is why white justice didnt know who is ragna there has to be ragna replacement in that world
I mean my boi Naoto gets with the vampire chick in the alternative time line spinoff that I can't find a translation for. And he's just diet Ragna so it feels pretty good to me.
