This guy is doing so much for the online Bushcraft community. I think he could be the face of online Bushcraft. As a fellow online Bushcrafter, I salute this man. He is a master of his craft. (Online Bushcraft)
Are you really telling me that you need to make a saw to cut a log of wood to make a fire stove to boil some water? And eat a ready made meal? I could do all that with some wood branches and some stones.
First time viewer of the long form content. I really enjoyed it. Lots of information to glean from this one video. Almost as much as all your shorts combined lol
Have you ever had any bear encounters in the Allegheny or Appalachian Mountains? If so, how did you scare them off? Thanks for sharing your camping adventures with us.
We generally only have black bears. They don't represent a threat. They're like the Corgis of the bear family. You'd have to corner one or try to steal cubs to see them do anything violent.
Thank you. I live in Pennsylvania and when I was younger my family was always in the woods camping. Not quite as primitive as you though. Thanks for all the tips. Can’t wait until your next video.
Ur soo lucky in the US 🇺🇸 i live on a tiny island where there's with 67million officially and unofficially only God knows how many people in UK🇬🇧 soo hardly no space soo your so lucky too live with all that room and wilderness
7:34 oh that sounds amazing. My chest smiles with memory and relief. 8:16 you repeatedly walking into a incline, so many camera angles, and the heavier breathing. Camera definitely does it justice as I continue watching. 12:24 Precise example as to why I'd love to learn and follow. Never heard someone making their own stakes, and confidently knowing they'll work instantly!🎉🎉🎉😮
Awesome video! Have you ever been camping in the white mountains? I went last spring and it was great. Those dehydrated meals are lifesavers when camping
Hello from Oklahoma! Good Video! Reminds me of where I go in the Kiamichi's. It's getting a little tougher now that I'm 64, but I still Love it! I'm needing a new tent, mines over 25 years old and starting to show it. That tent U used look like a dandy! What kind is it? I find "fatwood" from cedar way more than pine around here. Burns the same. just from cedar. Thanks for the video! God Bless!
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for bringing us along! I can't believe how much I learned. Your knowledge and apparent comfort in the woods is a beautiful thing. Between this and your condensed skill video I'm blown away. Did you receive any formal training on survival or just a natural sage?
Love your holsum minimal life style the set up the healthy heart smart cooking the simple effective cooking setup with a stick for a spoon simple efficient and minimal less is more quality over quantity ❤
I gave up on bow saws (buck saw) that need to be assembled, then disassembled. I carry a folding pruning saw. The one I use is a 10” Corona saw. The tooth tips are hollow ground, and do a nice job with fire wood. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
Great video! You seem like the best type of uncle to have tbh P.s. 12:05 as someone who lived in Yukon for awhile, bear problems are the WORST. however, moose problems are yet worse
I know the Allegheny National Forest is a big area, but can I recommend the Kinzua area? There shouldn't be too many people around there this time of year, and it's got some pretty nice spots. It has rained fairly recently in the NW PA area, but I am assuming that you film these in advance. A recommendation for the future.
I don't make it up that far too often, but I do love that area, I live in SW PA so it's a drive. Was actually thinking about going there for the eclipse though, maybe do some fishing too
I scrapped all of the cheapie knit caps that had accumulated, and got a merino wool cap. Other knit caps were sweaty, small, static electricity, etc. This cap is warm and comfortable. I fold it down over my eyes to block out light. Handy for daytime “practice naps” too. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying
