14:11 - Kills pego in rocks, fallen palm tree points to corpse. 14:47 - "Where'd the pego go?" You're standing on him, that's his tail. 15:06 - "Over this way?" YES (runs right by corpse). 15:13 - Gets distracted by shiny object, 62 second attention span... better than usual.

I noticed the same thing, lol! The tail looked a lot like a palm frond if you aren’t paying attention.

Gotta love the fact that Phlinger was having problems finding the first Pego. You can see it among the rocks just to the left of the center of the screen as he goes back to look for it at 14.47. But even better is the fact that at around 14:49, he is practically standing on top of it (you can even see the tail at his feet at that time mark) as he looks around wondering where it went. He then runs over it at around 15:06 just before he starts talking about the shark again, then at 15:26 he runs right by it as he gives up and heads back the other way. To be fair, though, the thing was practically the same color as the rocks and sand, so it is quite understandable that he missed it.

I couldn't watch until I played myself. I love that they changed some things so you can't just navigate entirely from memory. It's a new Island! Love the visuals.

Friendly tip: Move the camera offset to the right by going to camera settings and change TPV Camera Lateral Offset to -100. Makes the game look so much better in the third person!

Woohoo!! I get to be at the start of a new Phlinger series!! Loved the Underdogs...hope you use some of that knowledge here and tame a few of those creatures to use instead of just the "usual suspects". Looking forward to seeing how everything plays out! Still torn on whether to get it on steam or wait for XBox, so it's nice to see it in action!

I found and tamed a lvl 140 Baryonyx (first one I've tamed since I started playing ark ~6 months ago actually) at level 30 or so. She killed me about 6 times trying to get her into the trap, making me lose my crossbow, metal tools, tranq arrows and spyglass I found in a loot drop. Because of how difficult she was to tame I named her Trouble, and I finally leveled up and slapped a saddle on her. I'm so stoked about ASA, aside from the occasional crash (I just save game any time I do something important, so I don't lose progress) I feel like this is what the game was meant to be. The world feels so much larger, I haven't even left the peninsula yet But I still feel like I've explored so much lol. The new building system is AWESOME! Once the devs can stabilize the game and stop the crashing, and overall optimize it, it'll be a 10/10 game IMO.

Watched Aaron Longstaff go through all the building stuff. There are A LOT of cool, new mechanics. Many of the structures look so much better and are all paintable! 🎉 Looking forward to building. I also adore the baby dinos running around. 🥰 My two biggest complaints though are: 1. There is no texture/color variation of the ground. It all looks like clay. The whole map (with the exception of the snow biome) looks like scorched earth covered in grass and trees. No sand on the beaches and rocks are all the same color as the soil… but stone structures are still gray 🤔 It is extremely unrealistic as to what a tropical biome would look like. 2. I hate the look of the new greenhouse structures. Look too industrial and there is no way I would be able to use those walls as large windows anymore. 😔 P.S. I think Aaron Longstaff had several of his own O’s while exploring the new mechanics 😂

It’s insane how they basically just came out and said “Hey, here’s the first real gameplay footage and, by the way, the game comes out today.” I was watching Syntac’s stream of the x-box game announcements and he had a poll about wether or not ASA would be coming out that day and most of us said no, so we definitely weren’t expecting it to be available right after they let out the first gameplay trailer. Especially since the trailer itself said “Coming Soon”.

Hey Phlinger, I believe you kept walking over and past the pego on the beach, it blended in with the ground so well you didn't realize you were walking over it and past it. Pause at 14:49 he's to the left and you stopped right on him. Stealthy Death Mode was on.

Personally I still hate the building mechanic, Conan Exiles is so much better with the build hammer. Anyway the new Ark does look pretty but waiting to see if they sort out some of the bugs still.

Removing Moving speed is really a bummer. Hope is not limited on 100 on srvers, then is a NO play for me. Maps are to big for the 100 speed.

Genuine question, but how badly did you have to turn down the settings to get a halfway stable framerate? My wife and I bonded with Ark early on and if I could make this run smoothly I'd consider it against my better judgement, but our computers aren't even as strong as yours.

If you can meet the minimum req's you will have to turn things WAY down. As of now you can not host from your own machine without paying the monopoly, single player is the only free option *aside from others servers. Check Nooblets recent warning.

Yea Phlinger has always been a big fan, i think his enthusiasm and love of the game are genuine and he is just hoping things get better as time goes by and it can, i love ARK as well but i won't be buying ASA anytime soon because the monopoly is killing it, comparing server numbers tells it all.@@Boredom_Incarnate

I oddly have the opposite perf problem as most people. With everything turned to maximum quality I get too MANY frames per second and it causes bad screen tearing. Even with max fps turned on :( Need to figure out how to fix it because the tearing is really ugly.

Try limiting frames, i have heard Vsync can fix tearing. (tagbacktv's E1 playthrough stream).

@@gregorskiffThis is WITH limiting frames on. There is no option named vsync only for limiting frames. I don't know if it is the same or something else, but the only option I've found is an option to Limit FPS which I set to on and my monitor hz but I still get bad tearing.

I will not try yet even if was for free, semes like right now its in a sad state, to many graphics bugs, dont want to PTSD again so soon, but i rly hope they will make this one better then original, old one still got bugs even this day..

I'm a long time follower and thoroughly enjoying this new series. But I think in order to grow your channel and use this opportunity to catch people new to Ark (especially when, not if, it comes to Xbox Gamepass), you should start a new series where you play the game as if you are a beginner. We, as your current audience know and appreciate all your references ("rock is a rock") and abbreviations or nicknames ("Perry") and of course all the game mechanics, but I think this video isn't attractive to new players as much. Honestly, also from a business perspective, this is an ideal opportunity get market share until Ark2 comes out (if this ever happens anyway) and let "a new generation" of players learn to appreciate your content.

So you still have to craft *pieces of buildings* into your inventory before you can put them down. And they have a fucking WEIGHT. That is the only thing that made me quit the game and now I know I won't be buying this one

FEEDBACK. I would like to start by saying I hope my feedback have some use for you. I wanted to watch the whole playlist but I found hard to enjoy the video for 1 reason. You seem to be forced childish and quite honestly feels awkward. Anyway I really tried but I just couldn't do it.
