We're one week removed from the most disgraceful night in AEW history and as the investigation continues into what happened, Solomonster says the biggest decisions Tony Khan must make are yet to come with CM Punk and The Elite. He believes Punk has to go, and that was before any fists were thrown backstage. He explains why and also has news on The Young Bucks sending feelers to WWE, why the Trios titles aren't the ONLY titles that should be stripped from Kenny Omega and The Bucks and thoughts on the AEW championship tournament.

😆 Exact. Colt seems like a nice enough guy, but he is NOT a hill worth dying on. He’s a barely noticeable jobber now who was on a dying faction in the Dark Order. I saw him wrestle back in ROH. He was good…in his day. But those days are long over. You don’t mortgage the future of a promising company like AEW over someone that most fans barely know or care is there. The idea that this is all happening over a C-plus player is just baffling, and it’s why Tony Khan has to right this ship now. This nonsense has gone on long enough, and it has to stop.

@@starbreaker269I’ll answer your question with a question. Did you believe that Brodie beat Cody up so bad in their first match that Cody had to be stretchered out? If not then you believe that they write guys off with injury angles. Punk is an actor on 2 shows. Heels filmed episodes in July. This new arm injury could be another role. It takes time to read scripts, get in character etc. in the meantime other guys on their bloated roster can get much needed time. Think about it. Nakazawa is suspended. @@starbreaker269 but my theory on Cody aside from using AEW to get himself over was he left because Tony wouldn’t let him in on the ROH deal. When Tony bought it, it also gave him the rights to the All In footage. You know, the show that started all of this. Tony owns it. Cody does not. That was business. Maybe just maybe he wanted the EVPs to walk and they didn’t want to. He also wanted his Disney buddies to leave WWE when he did, but they stayed. A business decision. That is true, if they were part of the boys, it would still be bad, but them being EVP puts them on a higher standard to represent the company, and that makes it a whole lot worse. And Tony trying to be their friend instead of their boss, now we see what happened there. Vince McMahon, through all the flaws he had, specially in his later years, he still was a boss to his talent. And Triple H, even though he is friendlier than his father in law, I'm sure if he has to, he would have no problem putting on his boss pants, sitting people down, and having it out with them, straighten stuff like this out before it gotten to the point we saw what happened at the media scrum. I do feel that's what Tony needs to do, he needs to put his boss pants on, and handle problems before they get out of hand.

Punk essentially screwed himself, he's also potentially damaged AEWs reputation. I was one of many who took Punk's side on why he essentially walked out of the WWE at the 2014 Royal Rumble, not to mention the fact that WWE intentionally sent Punk his termination papers on his wedding day. AEW essentially gave Punk his 2nd chance and just 1 year later when AEW is at a high point, its world champion and one of AEWs biggest "draws" publicly throws the AEW roster and its management under the bus, all while his boss Tony Kahn is sitting next to him.🤦‍♂️ I'm sure everyone is familiar with the "plane ride from hell". This was the "press conference" from hell. I also don't think Punk will ever go back to WWE for obvious reasons. There's also still bad blood between Punk and HHH and his circumstances as to him leaving the WWE in the first place, because that infamous podcast with Colt Cabana when he basically broke the silence as to why he walked out. I totally agree that Punk deserved to main event "Wrestlemania". WWE should of capitalized on this when Punk was "white-hot" and in his prime. I'll say it to this day, the 2 greatest wrestlers when it came to delivering a awsome promo. CM Punk and John Cena, and the epic war of words they exchanged back in 2011.

I think punk should be left off the scrums and given a final warning of sorts. No badmouthing of AEW in Public. Keep it behind closed doors. And the EVPs should be stripped of their positions when possible. And leave punk off any post show scrums…or stop having them all together where Tony can’t control the message. Lastly they should initiate new rules - no backstage confrontations during a PPV where tensions and emotions are the highest. If you can implement these things of sorts, it can lead to these issues being solved. I think the EVPs if they wanted to leave - certainly would be a blow but I don’t think it would be a huge huge loss. The fans are more behind FTR anyways.

Swerve in our glory, I believe interviewed second. Then Jericho who supposedly told Tony it was going down. How come Dave didn’t get a text right then when he, Bryan, Sapp etc get tips for meaningless shit all the time? Not this 6 minute brawl. They were there yet they had to rely on sources for what happened? And even that is like 5 different stories but Dave is sure the man who needs arm surgery was the one that threw the first punch. I’m almost certain Dave is in on it, but that would make him look REALLY bad. As for AEW it doesn’t make them look bad because it’s their job as a company to work you. If you want to stop watching it’s because you find more entertainment in the behind the scenes stuff than the actual show. I just find it hilarious that if you call a wrestling fan a mark, they get mad. In this case, those that believe that Punk an actor on 2 shows was not acting his ass off in that scrum are bigger marks than the character Tony plays. For years Vince convinced fans that he was just a play by play announcer. Nobody but Meltzer fans knew till later that he was the brains behind the outfit.

I won't discount the impact of Punk's 2011, because that did represent a shift on what the industry prioritized, but ultimately Cody's last AEW promo was spot-on; he and the Elite actually DID what Punk merely talked about. Those are the guys you keep around, because unlike the angry ranty man made of glass, they walked the walk, with their drawing power literally being the name of the company. Punk WANTS to cause trouble and that is the type of person that NEEDS to be fired. He will forever be a ticking time bomb within that locker room. Someone spills coffee on him? I think Tony Khan has to be smart with his position on this. I think either side could have issues/lawsuit depending how this is handled. From what I’m seeing a lot of people in the community are putting the blame on CM Punk. Nobody in the situation right now is free of blame. But I do see more talking about what should happen to Punk and less what should happen to the EVP‘s. I do think firing Punk is a bad idea he’s injured next if you get rid of him who is to say he wouldn’t sue saying he was attacked by members of management. On the flipside I think the EVP’s could be worried about losing their power and why not threaten to leave. I think AEW will be okay without Punk, Ace or EVP’s long term. Short term Punk being gone could hurt, But this is a bad time with tv rights deal to lose any of them. I could be wrong. Ace Steel is more than likely gone. I wonder how many people are loyal to the EVP‘s in the company? Lots of structure changes are still needed to be made by TK. Time for TK to step up and protect his investment. But his decision could have a big impact on the future of AEW.

Anyone siding with Punk in order to spite the Bucks, Omega, and Page need to really take a step back and reevaluate their morals and ideals. It's been absolutely pathetic seeing certain marks lower themselves to Punk's level just to snub the Elite and portray them as if they're the REAL villains here. I've even seen some marks go as far as to say "Well, had Hangman kept his mouth shut and minded his own business, this wouldn't have happened!" to "Punk was just defending himself from the Bucks spreading rumors about him!" It doesn't matter what Page did or didn't do or what the Bucks are ALLEGEDLY accused of doing. Page didn't embarrass the company or conduct himself unprofessionally the way Punk and the Bucks did. The Bucks and Omega have had their punishment doled out from their involvement in the fight. I'm still waiting to see what Punk's punishment will be. 🤷 It took me almost a decade to finally wake up from the fever dream and realize that Punk truly is just a bitter, insolent, arrogant, petty prick with the communication skills and people skills of a moody teenager working at McDonald's.

I've seen reports that they kicked the door in, or they barged in, or they knocked and Punk told them to leave and they came in anyway... Whatever the case is they didn't go there for sunshine and rainbows and iced cream and singing kumbaya. If you want to call yourselves EVPs and throw your weight around and act like bigshots, then you have to have act like executives alll the time and not just act like one of the boys when it suits you. Hangman finding friends and believing in himself was uplifting. When Hangman won the strap, I cried. Hangman finding himself compelled me to finally go to therapy. I got sick of my shit. He also didn't have an issue with most of the talent till he worked with Page who went into business for himself on live TV. I'm not sure how it's been confirmed but Punk has claimed the EVPs have been leaking stuff to the dirtsheets trying to make him look bad (claiming Punk tried to get Colt fired). The Bucks and Omega have never been top draws on the show (MJF on day 1 was doing better viewers than the Elite guys) and their recent 6 man matches have caused people tune out during their match. Punk did make TK look like a bitch during the press conference and crapped on some of the younger guys causing problems, but he seems to be focused on making AEW actually grow as opposed to the Elite guys who seem to want it to remain All Friends Wrestling and don't care if it gets bigger. BTW, FTR also had issues with the Bucks and Thunder Rosa had issues with Britt Baker (who's boyfriend is in that group), so there might be others they've had issues with the group we haven't heard of (and we still don't know why Cody left). Through name value like Punk and logical and exciting stories. It dawned on me that the EVPs would much rather work matches that show off their athletic abilities. That doesn't work the States because think about what the states find entertaining: drama. That's why those real housewives shows do massive ratings even though their creatively bankrupt. Point being if the name of the game is to grow the business and make more money that style supported by THE EVPs limits that. More so they're clearly creating a toxic environment that's unfriendly for anyone outside of their little clique, at some point you gotta say why would one of the founding fathers of the company leave? Let's not act as if Punk was given some illustrious run that didn't deliver because yall like Page because of a year long drunk recovery angle. That's the same bullshit that WWE did where they said "Punks not a draw" while making him the mid card WWE Champion. Was Punk wrong with how he came out and blew up? Absolutely. Shit happens, keep it fair tho. Also, yall keep moving most of the blame to him meanwhile Tony is sitting there making faces like a clown. At my job folks get pulled into the office before anyone even gets a chance to put bass in their voice. The second that Punk said, "what's your question Nick" Tony shouldve said that Punks done for the night and walked in the back with him. Punk doesn't need to go, Tony needs to get his shit together and figure out who started leaking shit in the first place. Punk's gripes with the locker room is a lot more than what he led on. It wasn't just Hangman and The Elite. Punk made sure to bury almost the entire roster for not taking advice from the veterans. After the talent meeting on last week's Dynamite, one AEW wrestler said that they are more than willing to take advice when needed. And that right there kind of gives me a good picture. Punk isn't really angry that the talent don't take advice. He's angry that the majority of the locker room doesn't take HIS advice. And Punk sure is one to talk since I'm certain he did the exact same thing he's burying the AEW locker room for. And it's pretty hypocritical for him to say that "I'm tired of wrestling these kids who think they know everything." Talk about not looking at yourself in the mirror. And Punk said about Hangman not wanting to take advice, "I dare you to say that to Terry Funk's face." CM Punk doesn't realize that he is no Terry Funk. And it also sounds to me like Punk was trying to essentially brute force his way into being a locker room leader and the talent weren't interested.

I also think it’s weird that the fans are clamoring for someone to lose their job over a beef that has nothing to do with any of us regardless of if it was made public, the dirtsheets and wrestling news outlets shouldn’t dictate who the fans like or want to root for.. I just think it’s weird how we critique people online for these human moments as if any of us are truly morally superior than The Elite or Punk.. nobody is above criticism by any means and the criticism for both parties is valid.. That's like saying if a couple of kids on the Pittsburgh Penguins have a problem with Sidney Crosby, they should trade or buyout Sid's contract. Who's drawing the money? Wrestling is a business. I don't know why people don't understand that. Those EVPs shouldn't have had those jobs to begin with. Are Matt Riddle and Seth Rollins EVPs in WWE? And that's being generous. I hated Hulk Hogan in the 90s, but after the NWO happened, it made a lot more sense to do what he wanted while he was drawing a lot of money than listen to Chris Jericho who wasn't. Sure, it probably was stupid in hindsight, but at least there was an argument for it. Hogan drew money in the NWO. CM Punk draws money and those clowns took him out for 6-8 months. I'd fire all the guys responsible. It's not like AEW would lose anything. AEW shouldn't a country club for kids. It's a business. EVPs should be protecting the company's investments, especially the ones generating revenue, not injuring them. Don't like CM Punk? Fine. But at least understand how the business works. MJF is going to be doing all the heavy lifting now. He's all they've got. Moxley, Omega and the Bucks can't draw like MJF and CM Punk. All wrestlers, especially good ones, have egos. Sidney Crosby has an ego. But I'm taking his side over a couple of 2nd and 3rd year players who don't have anywhere near the impact on the team that he does. Of course, they're angry, because Punk exposed them for being an example of the Peter Principle.

Add to that the person in charge of the RU-vid channel leaving up the ENTIRE SCRUM that’s so damaging to the image of their company. Punk did two episodes of this show called Mayans. A Sons of Anarchy spin off. They liked what he did so much that they are keeping him on for more episodes. He was supposed to do 2 episodes of Heels, but they kept him on. Point is I guess he can act. Just like when he sold the foot on the Moxley kick. How can you believe that was fake, but the scrum was real? Oh right because Dave heard from somebody that it happened. It’s a work. If they jumped him or whatever when he left the scrum, why didn’t Dave, Sapp, Alvarez get text messages from their fake sources DURING THE SCRUM? Neither of them said I got a text while in the presser saying this and that’s going on. Why? Because it didn’t happen. Punk said they put 20 screws in his foot. Too many things about the whole situation make it seem like a work more than it being legit. You could begin and end it with the fact TK sat there without interrupting or completely shutting Punk down. When you add in the little details like the fact that Ace is suddenly on our TV as part of the story for the first time days earlier and then coincidentally he's right in the middle of everything. From a name that some have heard because he was one of Punk's trainers but a face few if any could pick out of a lineup to being not just present but a key figure who's biting, pulling hair smack dead in the middle of all the chaos. Seems awfully convenient with the lack of allies Punk has to introduce us to something extremely rare, a friend of CM Punk. This way you get to avoid using FTR as his allies and having to suspend more of your talent. And I get that almost everyone has their breaking point but I'm sorry it's not easy to buy the Bucks as the confrontational types to begin with. This story reads like the ghosts of Dynamite Kid and Bruiser Brody hijacked the Bucks bodies momentarily only to jump out as soon as the door was "kicked" in. This thing has gotten them more attention than they've ever had in the last 3+ years of their existence. After a historic weekend for WWE (first show over there in multiple decades) all the wrestling community is talking about is this alleged incident...not the PPV AEW just ran...not the return of MJF after a few months of being away without explanation of what's up or when he's coming back. But an alleged fight not shown on TV and one that nobody that witnessed it is allowed to speak about. If the Brandon Cutler BTE footage was conveniently leaked to the media since they couldn't release it if it actually existed then it could be shown that I'm way way way off base. But it won't be leaked because there was nothing to record to begin with. Again, convenient, very convenient...or a well concocted, excellently executed work pulled off to send us down a road never traveled before by the fans. It wasn't too long ago Omega said something along the lines of them changing the way we consume wrestling...this would also give some explanation to what he may have been referring to with that statement as well. I'm betting work but no matter what they have more eyes on them than ever before and hopefully they don't screw this up. No matter how they got people's attention what they do with it is what really matters. This is an opportunity unlike any they've had up until this point
