I'm not gonna lie, I laughed when I heard there was gonna be a tournament for the Women's Tag Team Titles. 1, because there's no way you could put together any more than like 4 teams on Raw and Smackdown for this "tournament", and 2, the only reason they're doing it is because they wanna stick it to Sasha and Naomi, not because they give a damn about those titles.

When you start hearing "summarily," "categorically," and "did not fulfill professional responsibilities, " that is coming from Legal. In my professional opinion, Vince is already working on terminating their independent contractor agreements.

Here's the thing that WWE (and other promotions) needs to realize: Their creative directly impacts the future career prospects and personal brands of their talent, moreso than most other fields of entertainment. If they want people to just be like actors and show up and read lines, there's probably a number that will get them there, but it's probably a lot higher than WWE wants to pay.

It’s weird that they wanted Naomi to win the 6 pack challenge by pinning Sasha; then starting a feud with Bianca and Sasha against Ronda. So they wanted 2 babyface vs babyface title matches. How do you even build that feud logically. Then to lose and make your tag titles meaningless and be a stepping stone for Charlotte to return for her rematch at a big ppv against Ronda. Bianca would go against becky and asuka at a later date. That’s stupid booking

If the company didn't have a wildfire of releases after the pandemic, the women's division would have had a decent amount of tag teams to compete for those titles. Whether it was poor writing, releases or not being used correctly, the Women's Tag division became a sinking ship. You had Sasha & Naomi (before the suspension) or her & Bayley, The Kabuki Warriors, Alexa & Nikki, IIconics, Riott Squad, Fire & Desire. They even could have grabbed some of those tag teams down at NXT and that could have helped out a bit: Shotzi & Ember, Dakota & Tegan or Raquel, Toxic Attraction just to name a few. The Women's Division deserve more attention and seriousness with better creative storylines.

Sasha comes off as someone that wants to improve the company from within and is delusional into believing that Vince truly gives a shit about the woman’s division in the way she hopes he does. They definitely need more people to stand up for themselves in wwe but they won't cause they don't want to mess up their pushes but I won't hold my breath that we see this happen

I’m so glad that you discussed this topic. Allow me to weigh in on this 1. Sasha/Naomi did the right thing to stand for what they felt the titles meant for as well as their position in the women’s division. You have to have some pride in what you do and value for the titles that Sasha fought for to get them into reality. To raise concerns about why they are doing this angle and keeping the titles on ice is a good reason to address. 2. The gall on Vince to throw them under the buss is nothing new (see Austin’s walkout). To harass Cory Graves for “doing his job” is stupid. If you wanna complain address to the top of the pecking order and the person who is feeding the lines to his announcers. Use your brain. 3. To all those that say that Sasha would go to AEW and she be good. Think again. They are still trying to get that division as valuable as the men’s. If she is having issues already with WWE, do you honestly think she is going to be ok with less than 10 minutes of ring time? Don’t think so… 4. For their contracts, if they truly value themselves then they think twice before resigning. This is the same problem that Sasha had the last time she resigned; being buried each time she got momentum. Besides, she has something going with Hollywood at this time. Maybe she should continue to exploring in Hollywood cause I do think she has a future there. 5. The tag titles never had any value from the time it was created cause the company never viewed them in any importance (like all the other titles outside of the unified championship titles). It was as if they created these titles in response to the almighty Women’s Revolution?! And, for this “tournament” is just a big middle finger to both Sasha/Naomi cause they know they don’t have a division.

So they promised them a tag team to work in, and then dismantled every team, leaving them with nothing. I don't blame them.

I support these women. All the time we hear about how morale is down, and people are mad backstage, and no one knows what the hell is going on, but no one does anything. Well, someone finally did something. And I don't know how it's going to turn out for Sasha and Naomi, but they did the right thing. How they did it can be up for debate, it's more important that they did something at all.

This is only a big deal for this era because it’s rarely done, but keep in mind and remember, Bruiser Brody was notorious for doing this, he went around stiffing promoters all the time, Brody would show up look at the house and demand more money if he felt it was necessary, would also tell promoters if he was going to do a job or not, Brody was a true outlaw, 1991 SummerSlam Warrior showed up and refused to go out without more pay, that’s figuratively robbing a person, but it happens, this won’t be the first or last 💯

If Sasha leaves WWE, I would want her to focus on building her celebrity status. Seems like the only way for WWE to treat her with some respect as proven with Pat McAfee, Rhonda Roussey, Bad Bunny and even Johnny Knoxville.

Always liked McAfee. I felt vindicated in that sentiment watching his reaction while Cole made the announcement. While if he retired tomorrow I’d be happy, I have nothing against Cole for this. He was clearly reciting words verbatim from Vince. Besides, of all people, Cole is probably favoring Sasha and Naomi. Now that he can’t say, “IT’S BOSS TIME!”, his only motivation for Friday nights is getting a check.

I honestly don't blame them for walking out. WWE not only was gonna break up Naomi/Sasha but they were both gonna lose to Bianca and Ronda. Like what's even the point of having them challenge when you have Becky,Asuka, Lacey Evans, Sonya Deville, Duodrop, Rhea, Liv and Nikki on raw to challenge Bianca. Then on Smackdown you have Shayna Bazler and Natalya two women who have history with Ronda Rousey who could've easily both tried to Challenge her not to mention you have other upcoming stars like Shotzi, Raquel, Aaliyah, and Xia Li who could potentially gain a lot from feuding on Smackdown. i don't understand wwe's booking at all it makes no sense. Plus once they break up they're gonna be thrown in irrelevancy once again. Don't forget wwe replaced Sasha with Ronda to win the rumble and face Charlotte at wrestlemania . Just for Ronda and Charlotte to have that boring ass match with Ronda losing. Then throw her into a tag team championship match.

There's always 2 sides to a story. For me I'm on the side of Sasha and Naomi. Reason why is because they came up the Triple H learning tree. What does Triple H say about titles? "The title doesn't make the person. The person makes the title." Sasha and Naomi probably wanted to make those titles valuable, which there's nothing wrong with. You just have a creative team that doesn't know what to do with it.

WWE is truly upset that Sasha has a spine and is willing to leave while their chosen favorites Charlotte, Ronda, Becky and Bianca will never. Sasha will go to Hollywood or AEW and make more money.

This is kinda like those people who quit their fast food job and put a sign on the drivethru that says "I'm quitting because I hate this job". History has taught us that Vince is not fond of Tag Team wrestling. It's the most shuffled title in WWEs history (the 24/7 title not withstanding because it's a joke). He's supported Tag Teams in the past. He's had his fanciful bro-mances with the British Bulldogs, Demolition and The Road Warriors, but long term, Tag Teams have always been program filler. His biggest triumph for storylines is to have them implode and wrestle each other for a two month long storyline. Bury one and make the other a singles match superstar. Ultimately, because WWE has way too much talent, that singles push gets turned into "talent enhancement." Vince doesn't care about Tag Teams.

I don't understand how certain wrestling fans can believe this is a work. Unless they are either new to WWE or too young to remember, the way WWE is handing the exodus of Sasha Banks and Naomi is textbook WWE. When a talent walks out on the company or there is a major falling out between management and talent, the talent is first buried and then erased [or canceled]. This goes back to the days of Wendi Richter and Bruno Sammartino. It's how Vince McMahon Jr. has always run his promotion because he believes his sports entertainment creations are more of his doing than that of the talent which portrays them. For the record the reason why fans are getting on Corey Graves is because he's a "company man". While I certainly don't blame him for his stance, you will find that most talent who achieve iconic status in their professional career at some point in their careers will have a matter of crisis where they go against the grain and take the path of the unconventional. While I don't blame Corey Graves one bit for being a "company man", the public figures that have always endeared themselves to me are the ones who have charted their own path usually by throwing caution to the wind.

Ppl commenting on honoring contracts, and being disrespectful and having attitude problems… I remember almost the same thing happening with Melina years ago. When the truth started coming out that Melina was just very passionate about the direction and creativity of the Divas at the time, ppl still maintained their arguments that Melina was a pain to work with, was a btch, but no… she has a mind for the craft, and she didn’t stay quiet about the role the women played. It’s evident in certain matches in her WWE career, having been torn down by production for being too solid of a match, even making her and her opponent go back out and do it over. Melina was a passionate force, so are Naomi and Sasha, but ppl are flaming Sasha because she’s not the chill go-with-the-flow type that Naomi is. Naomi has played the courteous one, sticking to saying just a handful of what she really wants to say about her direction in the company through interviews. Sasha takes a gust of intuition and follows it no questions asked. Both are being devalued in their own respective careers.

It's a fake show, with fake characters (performers). You are a character and as a chsracter you do what your boss tells you. None of it matters except the money and the miles. This all could have been avoided if WWE actually treated those tag titles seriously. Not disagreeing with what you said. I'm mostly just stating this for other people's sake. Naomi and Sasha saying they thought their talk with Vince went well is not evidence against them. There have been a bunch of stories of Vince playing nice guy and then making someone like Johnny Ace play bad cop

Maybe I'm being overly optimistic, but my overwhelming feeling towards Sasha (and Naomi) going to AEW, is that they could help fix AEW's terrible handling of their women's division. Yeah they've got women who came straight from WWE, but none are anywhere near as big of a name as Sasha Banks. I don't think AEW could do better than signing one of the horsewomen, in terms of getting a big name. The only other current WWE women who is a bigger name is of course Rousey. But I can't see her ever going to AEW. Naomi I really think has been criminally underutilised by WWE. She is really athletic, and skilled in the ring, and is more than capable of getting over. Maybe I'll be left disappointed should Sasha and/or Naomi show up in AEW. I've certainly been disappointed by their handling of the women's division so far. As they have not been around for years and years, I am still hopeful that they will sort it out. I think if they signed Sasha and Naomi, and the booking did not improve, that would put my hopes and expectations down the toilet. We'll see. I would love to see both women elsewhere, but I would want to see them used better, and it is a risk.

Wwe introducing the Women’s Tag Team titles in 2019 was their way to make Sasha Banks happy at the time especially when they were introduced around the same time of the foundation of AEW. The IIconics winning wasn’t an issue but rather the booking and this is coming from someone who was there at Wrestlemania 35 and pop loud at them winning. They wanted to please one of their top stars who has a love and passion for the wrestling business without having any real plan

If you don’t think AEW would change the way they book their women if Sasha went there you’re delusional. Sasha is the thing AEW is missing in their Women’s division. She’s a megastar. Ruby, Mercedes Martinez, Toni Storm they were nice additions, but they don’t have several world titles, a Wrestlemania main event and a speaking role in Star Wars on their resumes. Sasha’s star level is more comparable to Punk or Danielson and greater than Adam Cole’s. Sasha would be a game changer for AEW and TK wouldn’t be able to put her on the back burner because she’s simply too big a name. If Sasha leaves WWE this summer my money is she’s in AEW before Full Gear and maybe even before or at All Out.

Moxley will always be the greatest example on how to deal with leaving wwe. Kept his head down and took whatgervet they gave him until his contract expired and now he doesn’t owe them a dang thing and never has to deal with them again.

I don't think it was for the contract......But i felt bad for Naomi.... she is not going anywhere., Her whole family is in WWE. Also she isn't that big of a star like Sasha who can wrestle anywhere and can even transition to full time Hollywood. The solo segment against Bianca could have boosted her career as she hasn't been in a title picture for a long time (not counting the screwed finished against Charlotte as Sonya Deville was involved) and hasn't had a single's pay per view match for a long time but she decided to take a stand for a friend who is clearly leaving behind WWE. For Sasha , Aew is a good place as she will be star attraction there and with limited booking and wresling, could also concentrate more on Hollywood.
