Solomonster reacts to Ariel Helwani putting AEW president Tony Khan on blast for "one of the most frustrating" and "not so fun" interviews of his entire career and not answering questions about CM Punk and other topics. He discusses why Ariel had every right to be frustrated, his comments about the "freakazoid" AEW fans and how he made himself look bad by reacting the way he did.

Also he refuse to talk about if he tried to sign Bray or if he ever have a chat with Nick Khan (since he assassinated his character on twitter) whats that got to do about AEW storylines? And sorry the backstage problems of AEW are a massive story since they are reported more about than anything that happens on the show Bottom line is your one of those AEW Freakzoids who feel compelled to defend AEW and TK from EVER taking a well deserved L he's well out of his depth and if he's not prepared to answer tough questions don't do interviews with guys like Ariel Sean Ross Sapp and Dave Meltzer are ready with the Lube

There were 2 questions that Ariel could have asked to get a semblance of an answer. Without directly bringing up anyone involved in the AEW side of things. Ariel should have asked about player discipline and the way controversial stories are handled in the National Football League and compare it to AEW. Anything remotely controversial happens to any talent in that league it is all over the news. He should have asked about the differences between being a high ranking executive in the NFL and how it compares to be a wrestling promoter. I think the big mistake Ariel made is he tried to tie names to his questions. He should have asked in hypotheticals.

So was I insane to assume that, for all these years, anytime someone did an interview, they would call the person first, agree on topics they'd discuss in great details, topics they would only skim over, and topics they would not mention at all? It can't be that farfetched, because I'm sure at times it's either been implied or outright stated some things were not allowed to be brought up in interviews. I feel both sides are supposed to prepare for the discussion. The best way to do that is to know what's going to be talked about. If you aren't going to talk about a topic at all, it shouldn't be in the interview. And if there's too many of those topics, maybe make it shorter or don't do it at all.

I think more interviewers should do what he did to put a full stop to Tony’s need to make AEW look like the happiest place on Earth for wrestlers and not answering questions that take away from the illusion he’s trying to cast. He doesn’t act like a leader…he acts like a coward as he never takes the wheel when things get bad, but puts his fingers in his ears and yells “La-la-la!” and pretends everything is okay. It’s what seven year olds do. But when it comes to propagandizing, you can’t shut him up, And I agree with Solomonster about there actually being an investigation. It doesn’t take six weeks to investigate a six minute incident. Either there is no investigation and Tony is being Tony (a coward), hoping people forget this happened and starts bringing everyone back (everyone is serving paid suspensions and Ace Steel still has a job), or the investigation concluded a while back and no one is talking because the AEW locker room has been very tight lipped about airing dirty laundry. They'll trash talk each other, but won't speak to the atmosphere or morale in the day care center known as AEW.

Ariel best interviews are those on his channel without BT/WWE stamp of approval that water down everything him and his guest can discuss. The interview with MJF for example was fantastic and i think he is a genuine AEW fan despite working for a company that is embedded with WWE, that's why he was disappointed by Tony Khan lack of willingness to go in depth about where the company is now and the behind the scenes stuff. Tony Khan on his part was probably expecting a softball interview like the one Helwani did with HHH, but that was a complete different setting under the BT umbrella, this one was on his channel and so he had more freedom to ask the tough questions, if Tony Khan didn't know that he proved to be a clueless mark once again

I don't think Ariel should bash people on what they like but I understand what he means. It's hard to like aew at times simply because of their fanbase. I know all of their fans isn't like that and wwe's fanbase isn't perfect but aew fans is insufferable and will attack you with any criticism,stuff like that will also push someone away from aew plus on top of that screw TK because he clearly wanted Ariel to kiss his cheeks and ask him preschool questions like most of the people that ask him questions before he could promote his heart out. If you can't answer simple questions on how you feel about someone like bray Wyatt and etc then DF are you doing interviews for???? I really don't understand what his true motive was if he wasn't going to answer anything just practically for the hell of it

TK should just not do any of these interviews. VKM rarely did them, I remember him being on Letterman once, it was very unremarkable. He (Khan) simply goes on shows and interviews to promote events and that's it. Even though it was a sucky interview, I don't think TK should answer those kinds of questions, Ariel tried. I also think a lot of matters he was asked about that he really doesn't have an answer,

Was it the best thing to do professionally? Clearly not, but if you look at how Tony handled practically all of that interview, at least the parts of substance, you could understand why it was handled that way by Ariel quite frankly to a degree. The media scrum, and everything associated with it, obviously, professionally speaking, Tony's response was the likely one, so that, I couldn't take issue with. Everything else he declined however, that being Tony, everything else he declined, it was genuinely ridiculous. If anything, that would have triggered my frustrations, had I been an interviewer in general.. .Simply because, there was no need to be that much of an obstructionist in an interview. To the degree of difficulty, that Tony displayed, specifically when he didn't have to, it was a real asinine thing to do. Again, I could understand Ariel's frustrations on some level. For any that may claim otherwise, they are genuinely, just being argumentative, for the sake of it. Again, regarding everything at the beginning of September, that's to be expected, I can live with Tony's position towards all of that. Everything else though, everything else that he was an obstructionist towards in that interview, that was completely unnecessary, simply put. If anything, that's another example, that he just doesn't know what he's doing, he doesn't know what he's doing from a management perspective. He needed to handle things a far better than he did overall, that's just the truth of the matter. A seasoned professional would definitely know that. Since Tony can't handle that part of the job, then he needs to hire someone that can. Simply because, Tony in that capacity, he just doesn't cut it.

Helwani was 100% right to feel frustrated with TK. TK can talk about the things he was asked about. Especially Cody Rhodes. TK just likes to go into filibuster mode and just promote coming events. He will not answer anything that is even slightly off from a company-friendly question. It made him look weak and he came off as insecure or as if he is hiding something or just scared... or all of the above. I don't blame Helwani one bit for being frustrated. TK wants to have his face out there but just for mark out ball washings and promotion. If he's not going to answer the real questions then he shouldn't be doing all these podcast appearances.

I mean you really think Tony is going to divulge that kind of information Ariel Whoever you are? Though, maybe the smart thing for Tony to do is address that he should have acted sooner, and not allow the media scrum to go as far as it did, also say that they’re trying to address it & find a solution for all parties while trying to keep the show going and morale up with the talent and staff and make sure something like this never happens again. But yeah Solomonster I agree with your assessment. Tony, hell AEW as a whole needs media coaching.

The questions about Saraya, MJF, Bray, etc, sure... Tony could've been more open. But, realistically, the details of something happening behind the scenes aren't owed to anyone, Helwani included. I get it, we're all used to being able to look something up and instantly getting the info we're looking for, so it's easy to act entitled. But, something like the incident at All Out, it has nothing to do with what's being presented to fans on screen, so we're not owed that information.

@RevolverR0nin
@RevolverR0nin Год назад
@@felipemontes8454 Whether he looked like a clown or not, doesn't change the fact that he doesn't HAVE to say shit about what happened at All Out. The show goes on, and the only thing that fans NEED to know, is when the show's happening, who's on the card, etc. And you can get that info from a basic promo... on the show. Besides, like Solomonster said, Helwani has a direct line to WWE for interviews. I'm sure he's been presented with guidelines of what he can ask and what they don't mind them talking about. AEW and TK isn't the same. Helwani wanted a big story, TK shut him down, and TK probably sees why Dana White kicks Ariel out of the building when he's around.

I agree with most things Solomonsrers says. But AEW is still the far better product imo. WWE has improved doesn't mean it has passed AEW in quality. AEW on the regular has great matches and the stories can be good too. They've had better times specifically Jul 21-Mar 22. But I feel like a lot of people's judgement of AEW has been clouded by the honeymoon period in WWE plus all the recent drama in AEW.

While I consider myself a Tony Khan supporter, I'm on Team Helwani as far as this issue is concerned. Did Helwani burn a bridge? Probably not and I say that because I believe Helwani has incurred enough credentials to be a part of the conversation anytime one of the big two promotions has something to announce to the public. He'll be there if that is where he desires to be. It's not as if he's come down in the last shower. Tony Khan is evasive. He is very coy regarding anything on the business end regarding AEW which is his right but if you are Helwani, you have to be asking yourself if indeed the issue at hand is the burning of bridges...what do I truly have to lose here? This guy isn't giving me anything of consequence here and isn't likely to change his modus operandi in the future. It's a zero-sum game. If I lose access to Tony Khan (which isn't likely to happen) well it isn't as if I'm losing access to someone who is going to give me anything of value in terms of what I do for a living anyway.
