Am I the only person who waited as kid for the 5 minutes to be up just to see what happened? It's probably one of the most epic things- hearing all the characters cheering them on, then desperately begging them to go back to the colony, Shadow admitting that he can't keep up his super form and hearing Maria's voice as he's fighting, the reporter from Earth sending a message up rooting for the two of them, all combined with fire and heat slowly building and surrounding the characters. The only downside to this battle is that the boss is so quick to die that you'll likely never see or hear any of this in and normal playthrough
Arch Angia if you hit the 4 minute mark, like in this video, but as Sonic instead of as Shadow like this video, Shadow will make a comment about how he thinks Sonic is the ultimate lifeform.
Arch Angia I went back to see this and thought when you reached the 5 minute mark, you automatically die and start over. I beat him exactly at 5:03:45.
To be honest, this is my favorite video of the battle with Finalhazard. The sheer sense of tense and desperation, the re-entry flames, the comments of others, the Live and Learn starting to play again... I love it.
4:58!! That was a really close save lol! I mean I know you intended to get as close to 5 minutes as possible but I believe this is as close anyone could get!! I wasn’t even playing and those last few seconds felt really intense and with everyone telling you hurry and get away, adds a lot of urgency to it!
this my old channel and when I was doing the video that last bit right there I was actually sweating. I actually did intend for that part where I was so close to the end, in fact I was beginning to think I was going to lose the boss battle and have to start over again, it was just the dumbest luck at the end lol.
Glad this is on here. I have to say, whenever I listen to Live and Learn, I always think about when the Final Hazard begins to enter the atmosphere and you know you're running out of time. In my opinion, that's the most epic part of the fight because it gives you that feeling that you need to hurry, and despite everyone telling you to run away, you keep up the fight because you know what's at stake. It bothers me to see 'speed runs' of this fight because it takes that urgent and heroic feeling away.
Not to mention, shadow saying that SONIC is the ultimate life form. Considering the idea that apparently shadow was inspired by the paintings in hidden palace, that becomes a lot deeper.
My thoughts exactly. The sense of urgency from your teammates, the time running down, and the fact that you shouldn't/can't give up till the vary end always made this fight enjoyable. It not only pumped me up but actually try harder to win so Final Hazard would die no matter what. But there were some times where I thoroughly enjoyed all that you mentioned. I always remember "Live and Learn" as that theme where we were running against the clock (5 freaking min I might add) to save the world in an epic battle against the prototype of the ultimate life, and how we stuck through it when that clock hit 4 min and 59 seconds and when we were told to call it quits and that its too late, we stuck through it knowing how high the stakes were and won. Something that Sonic and Shadow would do. Such an amazing battle.
God I just love the way Shadow says; “Here I come, you creep!” It’s probably just nostalgia, but knowing that his renewed faith in humanity is what’s driving him forward and feeling like he needs to stop the end of the world to fulfill his promise to Maria before it’s too late just makes every part of this ending really well done.
Im super late, but there's an extra piece of dialogue in this boss battle in wich Shadow says that Sonic is the "actual" ultimate life form. It's only played when you're using Sonic at 3:58 .
Wow! Thanks for posting this. It's basically the actual fight scene. You can see the struggle and I now understand why Shadow fell after the Chaos Control...still not sure how Sonic had more rings though. Any thoughts?
I never got to listen to the whole dialogue because I was determined to beat the boss as quickly as possible. The funny thing is they never teach you how to switch characters either. You have to fly above the lizard, but my only target was that red spot. xD
About a year late but, from what I read up (or searched TV Tropes), it was Shadow's first time being in the Super form and probably still exhausted after the Biolizard boss fight.
Before I thought that the time limit was a joke and you can take as long as you want to stop the final hazard but now that I realise it it's super cool and very weird
Shadow: Here I come u creep! Jim Carrey as Dr Robotnik: Can u both here me? Atmosphere entry in bout 4 mins hurry! Agent Stone make me a latte I love the way u make them!
Whew, that was intense, you were so close to re-entry you started catching on fire. Scary! But seriously get out of there and go where? Both the colony and Earth will be destroyed, where could Shadow and Sonic possibly go after that? Knowing them they would die trying.
@@jarrettburch2477 No, there's another video with eternal 999 rings cheat (made for listening to dialogues purpose) and when the timer reaches 5 minutes, character dies even with those 999 rings
yeah dude basically it ends in you having to start over but as this happens you start to see how you are actually entering the atmosphere and burning up even more
But this one is even worse because you can HEAR their concern. The only thing left to your imagination is the ARK crashing into the Earth as humanity slowly but surely goes extinct
If the claims about fully-charged ARK's power system being able to explode with a force of supernova are to believed, humanity would've gone extinct instantly.
