Most of you have heard of draw through turbo systems, but how many of you have heard of a "Sonic Draw Through" system? Typical draw throughs lack the ability to run a traditional inter coolers, so "high boost" can become an issue with most, however there is a long forgotten system called the sonic draw through, a term coined by the long dead company Accel/Rotomaster. They built unique spacer plates that allowed for fuel and air to bypass straight into the engine at idle, then under boost, it would close the bypass valves, creating a sealed chamber for boost to build. This design caused an inherent heat exchange inside the spacer plate from the turbo but also since it always had fuel passing through it caused a extraordinary cooling effect of the mentioned heat that would accumulate under boost. Few of these where made and even fewer still exist, and no information on their function is avalible online, it only is left in the minds of old school mechanics and on a few instruction booklets in attics or old shops.
