@@UltraSTH something I noticed: Space colony ark, kingdom valley, and rail canyon are not exclusive to shadow levels. So there is a CHANCE some levels originally playable by both shadow and sonic can both show up. So here's my take: and it's only hopes for the game. Maybe there's some levels playable by both modern sonic and shadow, and both have unique ways to complete the level exclusive to each one.
@TheHammerGuy94 If that's the case, I wonder if the rival and boss battles can be done with the other hedgehog as well, so say that we want to fight Silver as Shadow, or fight the Biolizard as Sonic in Shadow's story.
Fun fact: the Biolizard uses the roar of perfect chaos along with a heavily edited version of Sonic and Shadow’s JP VAs screaming (the perfect chaos roar is the one used during gameplay while the latter is the one used when the biolizard uses chaos control). ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-6LzcEfFZ3Ic.html
Imo, I prefer the Biolizard having new sound effects. I hated seeing Perfect Chaos' roar get reused for 2 consecutive bosses afterwards. (Biolizard and Devil Doom)
Devil Doom was just lazy, but the Biolizard having Perfect Chaos's roar was intentional, I think. Prof. Gerald based a lot of his research on the Mystic Ruins stuff, including Chaos.
I am here from the latest gameplay of sonic x shadow generations. They basically took the original boss battle, added at least 2 extra phases, abd now it looks MAGNITUDES better that either of these combined!!!
Ignoring the remaster for a moment, can we take a moment to appreciate how well they recreated this fight but in 2D? There are some differences but it’s super authentic
That's actually kinda wrong. Considering the Biolizard was based upon the murals on Angel Island, the ones depicting Chaos, why would it ever resemble a being not ever depicted on Angel Island? I mean, stuff like this happens all the time, I know, like Roxas in Kingdom Hearts 2 HD using some of Ventus's voice clips despite the fact that him using a different character's voice clips kind of underlies the point of his character. I know, just nitpicking, but changes like this are a sign of directors not understanding some of the original details...probably, I dunno.
" I believe in my future Farewell to the shadow It was my place to live But now I need your hand " " Lead me out with your light I have breathed in The disgusting air of darkness But I never lose out " " To the pressure Everythiiing's just liiike An illusion I'll be looosing youuu Before longgg "
Why can't I feel scared anymore? I still can watch Shadow fighting it and feel unconfortable. This version is great, but I guess the first one has that specific thing that makes it unique and better. Thanks for the vid 🖤
I was replaying adventure 2 last night and I fought Biolizard there myself and I may have some potential answers that I could grasp at as to why the original might make you feel a little more scared. 1. A2 is usually played on a home console compared to a 3DS which can much more efficiently put into perspective how gigantic the Biolizard is as an enemy. It can honestly be a little intimidating once you remember the size difference as a result. 2. The fight in A2 is a LOT less linear compared to this one so the attacks feel way more realistic, as does the general movement in that fight compared to this one. When you have to dodge the attacks while being uncertain of how to find yourself a safe zone while only moving, it can honestly be pretty stressful and it doesn't help that the camera is not fixed like in the generations fight which also pans very close to the BIolizard and really induces a sense of urgency and constant movement. Also, you have the boost in generations to do it for you while you only have your momentum in A2 which can backfire easily. 3. The Biolizard in general is a fuck ton less robotic of a character in A2 and has actual structure to him that the player is going to recognize during the fight. He's compared as the ultimate lifeform's prototype and it really shows there. The stakes are high and you just came back from Cannon's Core which you might have game overed on once or twice so the stress is still sort of there. Now you're fighting this fucking menace who I'd also like to mention has a lot more of a personality in A2 and honest to god terrifying roars which don't really have much impact in this game since the Biolizard has no substance and is just a homage. He feels more real in A2 which I'm sure was the general intention and that might explain why you feel more scared when fighting him in A2 as well (I lowkey feel the same way because out of all sonic bosses, the Biolizard is easily one of the most intense and pressuring to fight in the entire series).
the boss as a whole is less dark and creepy, the old boss was much darker literally, and the sounds the old boss made were much more emotional, also the remix of the song is more intense and less unsettling
The original fight is really hard and the instant death is almost a jump scare when you hit that river not to mention those balls coming out of his mouth or very unsettling
and it's implied that it was modeled after Perfect Chaos as a large reptilian creature that harnesses massive amounts of Chaos Energy and that it mutated from an ordinary lizard. unfortunately, it couldn't handle all that Chaos Energy which caused its impractical mutation. meanwhile, Shadow the Hedgehog was modeled after Super Sonic from the Hidden Palace mural; a mobian that's smaller, more compact, and has a healthy body that can harness the full power of the seven chaos emeralds with no ill side effects (mainly due to his heroic nature harnessing the positive side of the emeralds). just like in Adventure 1, the Mobian Hedgehog beat the giant reptile. Black Doom's knowledge of Bio-Engineering and donating his blood to Shadow's creation didn't hurt either.
I best some people are shocked to see Biolizard boss was already remade before X Shadow Generations. Having 2 versions of Generations was something special that makes me really miss handheld demakes that have different experiences.
I'm actually glad this didn't make it in the HD version. Nothing against the fight, its good, but its not necessary for Sonic. For one thing, he never fought the Biolizard. Yeah, he did encounter it, but he didn't fight it. Plus, Sonic has no business or relation with the Biolizard. Its more related to Shadow. The Biolizard was the first ultimate life form before Shadow. In a way, Shadow's fighting his brother, or another version of himself. Thats the theme of the Biolizard fight. A fight between two ultimate life forms. I'm glad to see that this fight will go to Shadow in Sonic X Shadow Generations! Again, that's the way it should be.
THe Biolizzard burnt up as it fell entering the Earth's atmosphere. And before anyone says "Shadow survived" he was only brought back because he's popular.
the biolizard is definitely on the freaky and creepy af list. when I first played sonic adventure 2 GameCube version, as soon as it appeared I screamed out of fright and my hands started shaking, dropped the controller faster than I could pick it back up. X3; My friends at school didn’t believe me at that time a sonic game had a decently scary boss, last time they played a sonic game etc. as soon as they RU-vidd the cutscene and battle Had 3 friends tell me the next day they had to look away bc the pipe eyes freaked them out
Technically? Well Colors DS is still playing differently than Rush/Rush A (aside from the boost) I would also say that this is kinda sad that we couldn't play as Blaze again (Classic Sonic in Generation DS played almost like Modern Sonic) I want Sega to make good spinoffs (with the Sol Dimension story) instead of making mediocre dumbed down versions of their mainline games
I had no idea the 3DS had this boss It's so surreal to see the bio lizard with a better model although this is definitely a baby version of the fight which fair enough they fight was bullshit
I’m glad they gave biolizard it’s own scream, when I younger I was wondering was i fighting a giant messed up lizard or a giant messed up looking tiger.
context is lost when Sonic is fighting Bioliard, the original intent was Shadow fighting his prototype or his "Shadow". I can't wait for Shadow Generations
Yeah, it took me a few tries too but in the end I didn't think it was too hard if you were careful enough. But even though I only got A rank, I said: "Screw it!, A is good enough for me!"
I'll probably give it a try. :) One step at a time though, don't have much time for many videos and since Speed Battle vids are so popular, I focus on them for the time being.
Honestly I think my one problem with the biolizard is that it feels identical to his sa2 counterpart, just in 2d. The real changes don't really take place until after the point you'd you kill it in sa2. I would have loved some more changeups of the fight to throw a wrench into the player's muscle memory, kinda like what perfect chaos did
I'm not gonna lie, I kinda like the differences between the 3DS version and the regular version. Of the games I mean. Specifically how different bosses are. You've still got metal sonic and shadow, but then you've got Bigarms, The Egg-knight or whatever it was called, Biolizard, and then I think they changed up the Time-eater boss fight a little but I could be wrong. I feel like I'm forgetting a boss for 3DS version too. I don't remember there being a Silver fight, but it's been YEARS since I've played either game lol
There was a sliver rival battle in the 3ds version but it took place in Tropical Resort instead of crisis city. Doesn’t really make much sense but neither does racing metal sonic in casino night. I guess the 3ds devs didn’t really have time or resources to develop unique locations for the rival races.
Many reasons 1. Its 2D so you don't have to worry about your Z-axis for the main fight 2. It's a midgame boss instead of the penultimate boss 3. You have a proper crouch instead of somersaults 4. The floating orbs have simplified to all heal because its 2D and you have a homing reticle 4.5. The floating around orbs are simplier for the same reason 5. You have the boost meaning there's no way for Biolizard to catch up
Sonic Forces you to understand that joke makes no sense! 1. This is Generations 2. "Sonic Forces you to" only works with Sonic Forces 3. Forces didn't have a Biolizard fight just Supporting Me Remix 4. Woosh// someone doesn't matter when their points are on cue 5. Stop being Nostalgia Blind
Honestly, not a fan of the layout of this boss's arena much like someone else mentioned. Basically the waterway hazard was honestly an annoying challenge, but relatively fair to anyone unaware of it. The visuals for the Bio-lizard look worse on 3DS compared to its SA2 (Gamecube/Wii) counterpart. What I hate the most is that Sonic is fighting the boss with a remixed version of the music which was specifically and always meant for Shadow versus the Bio-lizard. This honestly looks and feels like complete trash.
Worse on 3DS? You do remember the original's unrendered mouth right? Hell, the outside was nearly a pitch black shadow, while the interior had no shadows at all, because that makes sense.
People say they don't like the ost sounding more clear bc it ruins the ambience. That's a fair opinion, but I also strongly disagree. What kills the ambience is how stupidly simple and insipid this boss fight seems to be. Seems very basic and like there was an extreme lack of innovation. I get that it's the 3ds so of course it's probably meant to be more simple, but for a version exclusive boss fight, I find it really unimpressive and boring when compared to the original. Just feels like it was sort of shoehorned in-
The only one i thought was really good was that boss that was in the same gate as silver. I forgot its name but that boss was okay compared to big arms and biolizard
It is also important to take into account that in Sonic Adventure 2 you are not facing the final boss, but the penultimate one and this ends up making the fight much more actionless when compared to the battle between Sonic and Perfect Chaos in the other version
Man they really butchered the impact this boss had back in SA2. It's list lazy. The biolizard itself is nowhere near as unsettling the screams are so compressed and sped up. They way it moves is nowhere near as burdened and deliberate. And the soundtracks nolonger synced to the first roar and damage phase. And that's ignoring the sound track being highly compressed in this remix😒.
>Man they really butchered the impact this boss had back in SA2 wow really? who would've guessed that a game built around re-visiting stuff doesn't leave the same impact as the original which had a story built around the certain element???!1!1!!1! >The biolizard itself is nowhere near as unsettling yes, because: 1. this is sonic fighting it, not shadow (sonic isn't related to the biolizard at all.) 2. this is a mid-game boss in gens 3ds. >They way it moves is nowhere near as burdened and deliberate this is a mid-game boss in gens 3ds. not a semi-final boss. >the soundtracks nolonger synced to the first roar and damage phase it wasn't synced in SA2 either (aside from the intro, which this game does.) >And that's ignoring the sound track being highly compressed in this remix me when listening to 3DS audio via my high definition speakers and noticing the compression (if you seriously think this is a problem, then you have bigger issues lmao.)
