I am neither a genetic engineer nor a biologist, but I fail to understand how Gerald went from giant lizard kaiju to four foot bipedal black and red hedgehog with skates.
From what I've read the Biolizard wasn't originally it's current size. It started of relatively small but it grew at an alarming rate and grew more mentally unstable to the point where it had to be encapsulated.
According to Shadow the Hedgehog game, Shadow was created thanks to Black Doom's DNA hence the color black and red, however the Biolizard was originally a small lizard but too much DNA splicing made it unstable, needed a life support, could reproduce asexually, had turrets for eyes, made it grow at an alarming rate. Also there's speculation Black Doom helped with it's creation since it also has a Black Arms color scheme and roars used in some Black Arms aliens and in Devil Doom.
samatar Hirad it isnt. This community used to hatw the game because of the bandwagon, but now the roles got reversed. The previously very overrated sa2 is now considered as one of the worst sonic games, and sonic unleashed which was first panned by critics and fans alike is now considered the best sonic game by many. This is because the game was originally treated unfairly by critics and the fans dont want to become part of that bandwagon anymore so they start overpraising it, just like how fans now are too scared to be called fanboys for liking sa2 so they start bashing it, that way starting a new bandwagon, and the cycle loops.
The biolizard fucking terrifies me, it's amalgamate body, with obvious defects makes it seem like it's miserable with it's existence, being a scientific creation. It's really unsettling for me.
I used to be terrified of king boom boom.... I would always run to my brother and ask him to do it for me. But now i love that boss its one of my favorites. But i never thought of the prototype as "scary" i mean... It has some badass music, thats all i really need
The thing about this boss fight it's that it's not actually that hard, but if you screw up once, you got to do it all again. The battle usually takes 3 to 4 minutes to complete, and it becomes really tedious, especially when you die near the end.
Yeah that's one thing people dont bring up, each segment isn't that hard on it's own its having to do the first part over and over again that pisses me off.
Sans is a very easy boss, only it's one of those bosses where if you fail at something you have to start from the beginning again. (sarcasm). Obviously that a boss has to be beaten perfectly makes it difficult. And in this case, the camera is not much help when you get close to the boss to hit him and its colossal size is such that if you accidentally collide with the tail, you will very likely lose.
Funny enough, this boss didn't scare me at all when I was 10.......... King Boom Boo did. When I try to think of how come the Biolizard didn't scare me as much as it probably should have, the only reason I can come up with is that I was too exhausted of frustration from Cannon's Core that at that point I could literally care less about getting eaten by some salamander from hell. The relentless triathlon nature of that stage likely killed me on the inside, especially given that this was before I learned that I could simply farm maximum lives by digging in the treasure hunting stages. What did make the Biolizard a hallmark in my childhood though was it was the first time my parents heard me swear.
@@WrecklezzENTTf are you saying? It was so cool seeing Shadow fight the Biolizard with three phase, Shadow is using his chaos powers (chaos spear & chaos control; stop time), and with much better graphics.
@just_an_elli pfft plz show me where! I'm saying looking at the boss fight now you hit him while mashing buttons where sa2 you hit him once and get a serious boom effect with camera shaking. It feels more engaging than what we are about to receive 🤷🏿♂️
@lightchaos4204 the time stop isn't bad but anyone sick of the qtes? Like I rather do the fighting myself not press a button a watch the game do it for me!
Random Fact: Unfiltered versions of the Biolizard's roars can be heard in the Preview. Hearing them reveals that they're screams done by Sonic and Shadow's Japanese voice actors, respectively.
Some of the roars, the other roar is actually Perfect Chaos from Sonic Adventure. Another random fact is that Sonic’s English VA, did some of the shadow voice clips in the final boss, Shadows english VA already did the rest of the clips for the day and went home but they forgot some clips, so for the rest of the clips Ryan drummond (sonics va) opted to do them.
This boss used to scare the shit out of me when I was a kid. The beginning of the song always gave me the coldest of chills. That "thing" could only have a sound description of an unearthly being breathing in your ear just to ensure you're filled with fear before it came to get you. Then after I went supersonic/shadow I crapped on the last stage. No hit, nothin
Now THAT’S something worth looking forward to! If not, then at least we get to have Shadow do a rematch against the Biolizard in his campaign for Sonic x Shadow Generations.
@@derekmaullo2865 Your negativity is not needed or wanted. Also, I'm a grown adult, and I'm most likely much older than you. Stay in your lane, little boy.
Sonic Kitsune IDK. Pretty weird, lol. Hell, Sonic Team copied and pasted the scream of Perfect Chaos to the Biolizard. Just listen closely at 2:13 It's the same XD.
Came here after seeing its boss and model in Shadow Generations, there's so many gruesome details about its body I never noticed until seeing them on the new model then coming back here. Its skin can barely hold its flesh together, poor creature
Let me tell y’all. I came here for the nostalgic. I remember when I first got to this boss, I instantly paused the game an was like wtf. This was years ago man. I played this on Dreamcast an it will forever be one of the greatest sonic games out there.
@@skeleton819 game was still in its prime for being on Dreamcast. It did have some issues but this was the best sonic game until frontiers came out. IMO this game still is the best an needs a sa3
Me: *collects one ring at a time like a smart Sonic gamer, intends to roll under an energy ball but panics and jumps directly into it instead* This edgelord: *light dashes through every single ring in the stage on the first phase, doesn't get hit once* [salt shaking]
In a game with complete jokes for bosses, Biolizard phase one was shockingly kind of strict compared to everything else. Once you get the timings down he's much simpler, but it's a notable spike in difficulty compared to every boss fight in the entire game.
knowing how disturbing biolizard looks on its own, I don't think they'd want to turn it photorealistic for the movie and scare the hell out of everyone, though it would be very funny
it is definetly very cool great ost and theme and story but the gameplay is mixed speed stages are great and half the treasure huntng stages are too however the mech stages and the later treasure hunting stages are boring
I never really gave it much thought when i was younger because i didn’t really find anything about the Biolizard, that bizarre probably because i didn’t pay much attention, but it’s actually kind of fucked up when you think about how you are murdering a creature that’s dubbed as a failure of what it was meant to be as a ultimate lifeform so it’s like it’s a waste of life, and it’s even worse that it has a life support around it so it’s the equivalent of killing a kid, or person with cancer, or something that keeps them stuck on life support it’s seriously twisted when you think about it that way but i think it just had to be put down i don’t think their was any other way, though it gives me chills, but i now respect this boss much more now a days since i understand it more i maybe judged you to harshly as a random final boss Biolizard, I’m sorry for that you are a really awesome fight, and concept.
Cannon's core: started at 7 lives ended up with 2... until i discovered the air necklace. Biolizard: started with 2 got a game over... because on my first try i got swept up the current. Seriously how was anyone supposed to know that was there with the camera pointed to you. Finalhazard: i died twice because i wanted to know what happened of you run out of rings and run out of time. But he was easy.
I just realized, the Biolizard and the Finalhazard are the only two bosses that not only have different camera work upon defeat, but also the only two whose titles zoom towards the screen. No other boss in the game does that, I checked.
Ehh, don't mind me, I'm just leaving a comment here just incase some Sonic X Shadow Generations fans would probably come here and say "I'm here because Sonic x Shadow Generations remaked this bossfight"
@@nonameavailable7383 First of all I just commented on what I like about this And then you come to tell me that you don't like it, well I don't care if you like it or not, I like it, period
Well actually no, see the Ultimate Life Form Prototype (the bio lizard) was created before then, The Ultimate Life Form was created to help the Government, but instead deemed as “too powerful”, Maria, shadows friend wanted to protect shadow, even sacrificing herself. The reason shadow wants revenge is because of a false memory. The only revenge that Gerald Robotnik had was making the Ark crash, which was made more effective by the bio lizard for some reason attaching itself to the Ark using Chaos Control. In conclusion, Gerald wasnt that crazy. Thanks for coming to my ted talk.
This game has it all, an amazing storyline, good controls and easy to handle gameplay, amazing OST and voice acting, great bosses and and epic final boss. This is *the* perfect Sonic game
I only beat this boss for the first time last summer, as my younger brother and I were playing through this game for fun; he played the hero characters, I played the dark characters. This was after owning this game for about a decade and playing this game on and off. Yeah...I felt pretty accomplished.
Idk why, but I felt like the bosses in this game were sorta scary...Or maybe it was just me. Just the way the Biolizard just gapes his mouth open and stares at you.
Yes this boss battle was on Sonic X for a short time,And this boss can be tricky for new players. I enjoy the music on this boss battle cause Shadow is proving to everyone that he is the Ultimate Life.
That intro with the weird movements and the song starting scared me when I was a little kid. Haha definitely a level I played with the lights on when I was downstairs alone at night. Good times.
Chicojim Productions because the biolizard was supposed to be the ultimate life form complete but was in bad shape due to the humans, also, it had a disease, because the humans hated the biolizard, so Gerald made the life form a hedgehog, because he wanted the life form to be aagile and powerful, and then, if he humans tried to capture shadow, and then stuff I don't know happened
I always thought it was because Professor Gerald saw the mural at Lost World from Sonic Adventure 1 and the mural at Hidden Palace and try to recreate two beings that can harness chaos energy. Lost World mural - Perfect Chaos - Biolizard Hidden Palace mural - Super Sonic - Shadow It would fit nicely why Shadow has his quills pointed upwards like Super Sonic and why Biolizard makes the same roar as Perfect Chaos.
I think Gerald programmed it's poor cyborg brain to defend the Chaos Emeralds from interlopers and act as a plan b in case someone stopped the ARK's crash.
I have had this boss on my mind for like 4-6 years after I beat it, and i completely forgot what game and what name it was. Man do I remember this thing!
I remember when I first got to this point and heard the beginning of the soundtrack with the type writer sound clicking slowly: it made me feel weird and kind of scared cuz of how it sounded like lol. Even til this day the intro of this sound still gives me chills
Crazy how I could beat this boss 1st try when I was a kid but took me over half an hr to beat it now that Im older 😂 that final phase was messing me up
Original sound engine was written for shitty crts and analog audio, when they moved to digital, never took it to account modern dacs. Probably why it sounds so bad
I noticed how that boss reminds of the Queen Metroid, but it's ironic that Queen Metroid's first 3D appearance would be in Metroid: Other M roughly nine years later.
