The main themes being gibberish is actually a common thing in musical production, just to get a feel for the rhythm before you actually write lyrics. That would make this sonic heroes rendition a VERY early one
Yep Audio is also one of the last things Developers worry about during game development. So stuff like this was Used to give Developers some placeholder music so they can plan for stuff like Cutscene music music cues etc.

I'm pretty sure the "unused" texture for the Last Story in the story select is just the texture that appears when you try to select the last story without having all emeralds.
You are correct. That grayed out Neo Metal Sonic texture/render appears in game if you select the Last Story without having all seven of the Chaos Emeralds.
the invisible line is for metal overlord when he uses chaos control to disappar. This is a different use from the time stop he would use. This is a rare move you often beat him before seeing him use it

in the game Shadow the Hedgehog if you wait around 8 minutes in the final boss,Eggman reveals that Shadow is not other than the SA2 Shadow. One of Eggman's robot saved him from dying. He just copied him and made several robots-clones after hence why he was in a capsule in the opening of Heroes.
As someone who loves the character interactions in the game, it's quite a shame that some voice lines and concepts ended up being scrapped. This game deserves a remake.

1:50:25 I’m surprised some people don’t know, but yes the Shadow from Heroes onward is the same Shadow from SA2. It’s explained after spending 9 MINUTES in the final boss battle of Shadow the Hedgehog so I could see how some could miss this information.

Sea Gate is clearly based on Seaside Hill from the way it sounds.

It's so odd to me that the PS2 version has lower resolution textures while the GameCube version has the Xbox's high resolution textures. Also they all have different water with the GameCube water looking more pleasing while the Xbox water looks similar but technically more advanced looking due to the Xbox's extra horse power and relatively insane combined memory.
Sonic Heroes is one of my favorite 3D Sonic games and the Chaos Emerald Special Stage music is my jam. Absolutely loved this! I really liked that early version of Lost Jungle, I wish that was left in. And that glitch to gain more height while in the Fly formation was my favorite, I discovered it on my own and used it when I could lol
I like how in the early gamepay, when knuckles jumps it is a combination of all 3 of them in a singular big ball, instead of seperated like in the final. Also the animations are different and ot seemed knuckles fist was going to be a projectile. Super neat! I really wish they kept the voice lines as they add a lot of character and would make the jouney more fun and engaging to the player. I really like the check-point pickup lines as they leave a lot of room open for imagination -- like Sonic got kidnapped but defeated the robot and found a different route to the checkpoint. Hopefully someone mods these unique differences in!
Sonic Pocket Adventure came out on the NeoGeo Pocket Color in 1999. Sonic Heroes was the first mainline Sonic game to be developed with non-Sega consoles in mind from the start. SA2B is an updated port, and Sonic Advance isn’t a mainline game
I never pray sonic heroes, but I heard about it and it’s pretty good but it’s kind of is between what we could’ve got for sonic adventure three but I don’t think it’s the sonic adventure three LS white Sega would actually make sonic adventure three with high-quality graphics and stuff which is probably what they’re planning on doing it some fix point

Question. For the Xbox version, on the performance section, did you play it on an OG Xbox, or on an Xbox 360? Because the game runs way better on the OG Xbox, and a lot of the frame rate, slow-down, and buggy issues arise from the emulation when playing it backwards compatably on 360.
I'm only 20 minutes in and loving this so far. I was 10 when this game came out, and even being a huge Sonic fan by that point (Played through the MegaDrive and Dreamcast games), this game was the first time I truly began to feel awkward as a sonic fan. Yeah, some of the Dreamcast dialogue was a bit weird, BUT THIS. The constant talking and stupid writing choices ("Look at all those Eggman's robots") felt cringe-inducing and it was the first of many times I actually felt embarrassed playing Sonic games in front of family or friends. I love the Sonic games, but this game was the first time that it was obviously aimed for kids and that I was growing up. I remember the first time playing this though. My parents had divorced and I spent weekends with my dad. He rented the game from Blockbuster that weekend for me. I spent the whole weekend playing it. By Sunday evening, I burst into tears, realising I'd wasted the entire weekend when I was meant to be spending it with my dad. He passed away March of 2022. He was the reason why I became and still am a Sonic fan to this day.
4:47 is that really unused? I recall seeing this "powered down" version of Neo Metal Sonic in place of the "powered up" version on the story select screen in the Gamecube and PC versions when I beat all four teams but failed to collect all Emeralds.
originally, i wrote a little comment about how glad I was that such a video had appeared, but its not enough i guess, so I want to write a little more. because when i was a kid this was my first game on pc. And after a while I couldn't believe that this game was so empty and had no hidden content or if someone finds something intersting it was a pretty poor quality, but ur vid changed everything and i finally got what I always wanted to see, thanks a lot!!

I know at least the demo version of Sonic Heroes main theme was at least made officially available by Sega since they included it in production version of the intro video in Sonic Mega Collection [Plus].

Tails high five with his 2 hands than the final and his animation finish way earlier than others. Knuckles stay the same. Shadow stay the same but stiffer and looking at you instead of looking off the camera. Rouge stay the same but stiffer at the end of her animation. Espio fist bump Charmy instead of ignoring him before posing. Vector stay the same but stiffer with late left arm animations at the end. Charmy is fist bump Espio instead of simply showing himself. Amy stay the same but peace way earlier than final. Cream stay the same but lightly stiffer. Big is using his umbrella to land on the stage instead of dropping out of nowhere. Cheese stay the same but a bit faster than final.
I remember watching the prototype version of the Sonic Heroes Opening and the prototype version of Team Dark's intro cutscene from Sonic Mega Collection Plus. I also remember being confused and laughed at the gibberish in the background @18:59.

Presumably one of the reasons that the sound mixing is so weird on the PC version is that it's set up for positional audio. When you have 3D audio on it sounds much better, though you have to do some messing around to get it working on modern Windows (the old sound APIs used for things like EAX got deprecated)
