I love how tails is being controlled. Normally the cpu would just do what you do, but seeing Tails and Sonic working together through levels is amazing to see.
It’s actually in a lot of Sonic games. I believe Sonic Adventure 2 is a bit notorious for making the bonus impossible due to having random single rings out of bounds
Even if that movie was rejected, and even if it is sometimes not the fastest way, you can say what you want, but interactions between sonic and Tails (not only during score tallies, even in-level) here is freaking amazing. I admire that, so entertaining.
Oh, I see...so I was wrong all this time. The perfect bonus is only for single rings in each act through Metropolis Zone 3, not the 10 - ring item boxes.
I think at one time in a early Sonic 2 game in order to unlock hidden Palace Zone you probably had to get a perfect on every zones maybe it'll unlock secret zones but awesome gameplay perfect
@@joshfish2 It still wouldn't make for a perfect bonus because of how the developers programmed that zone. Since rings can be won (and lost), they must've thought it would be cheating as a way to farm rings for over the 999 cap, so therefore no Perfect Bonus code exists.
***** Yeah, after I saw this I kinda guessed that. I can get perfect bonuses with Sonic and Tails alone. Not all, but some. But I can still get 75 lives with either, and I'm happy with that.
They're not hitting the "10 ring" boxes. There must be 7 of them in that level. Just figured that out myself, as Emerald Hill 1 was the only one I ever got a perfect on.
Well, problem is, I think I got it down. Haven't really had a chance to check because the boss keeps screwing me over with those stalactites, since I'm usually Super by then and I can't do it when I try because of ring reduction.
Sky Chase Zone doesn't have a Perfect Bonus score since that stage only has one act and no ending cutscene like "Sonic Got Through Sky Chase Zone". If you hack in an Animal Capsule or Sign in Debug Mode, it will say, "Sonic Got Through Zone" same with Wing Fortress and Death Egg
Error in the game's programming. You have to be frame-perfect, but the hit box is not touched. The only "cheat" used is the level select, and that's because it is noted in the TAS that levels had to be skipped because achieving a perfect bonus is impossible. The TAS was subsequently rejected because of this.
This is a tool assisted speedrun, meaning someone uses savestates and frame by frame imput recording to complete the game as fast as possible and for looking cool.
I wanted to see if the ending was different; but nope. It's the same ending, with the black & white sketch artwork of tails (I was at least expecting it to be in color...), and everything. :(
Well personally he didnt complete the game from start to finish and used a game restart seq, and level selection to skip levels. hence the meh votes. But as stated below on the levels he couldnt get a perfect he should have gotton the chaos emeralds to speed up the run on other levels.
Si j'ai compris il suffit tout simplement de récupérer les anneaux sans être obligé de passer par les boîtes a objets! Par contre je ne comprends pas que vous avez recommence le jeu avec le score a 0 a Hill top zone!
they don't, it's a sound glitch. I think it occurs when you get the invincibility, and it still runs AFTER the end of the speed shoes ability, so I think the game gets confused and thinks you have double shoes or something? Hence why the music goes even faster than usual, and then slows down, but to the same tempo as when you had the speed shoes on for the rest of the level it has happened to me before
tcrf.net/Sonic_the_Hedgehog_2_(Genesis)#Inaccessible_Rings however the ones in Aquatic Ruin act 2 where later discovered to be obtainable with the help of Tails. See at 11:42 the ring counter going from 197 to 205 whilst only 6 rings are seem, Tails got the 2 stray ones in the upper part of the pilar.
Nice going, Sonic. You just broke the gravitational constant of the Universe with you hi-speed shenanigans. Well I hope your proud of yourself. My cat is now moonwalking in mid air. Damnit....
The Dark Gaia Channel That what you witnessed is called Slope Glitch. this happens when a platform is destroyed/removed/etc from under sonic or tails allowing them to maintain that law breaking state. which is why he used tails to kill the boss.
He could get the ten-ring boxes or take damage (and arguably should have any place it was faster) and still get the perfect bonus. He just wanted the ring count to show the number needed for the bonus at the end of each board.
