Really? Why is the 1st Legion’s bad?

Once per game in response to being charged, a Dark Angels unit can take a Leadership test. If successful they gain, Fearless and Fear (2) until the end of the next turn. If the test is failed, then they gain Stubborn and Fear (1) instead.

​@@shadowofhawk55 Fearless: don't take LD tests. Fear (2): They cause fear and the enemy must take a leadership test at -2 leadership if they charge or are charged by them. Stubborn: Always take leadership tests at full LD value (so Fear doesn't work and losing members of their squad doesn't affect them for morale tests.)

Yeah those units should have never been placed on the board. They were considered destroyed because the must have been deployed, but they were blocked.

shooting vehicles is strength + 1d6; so in this case its 5 + 1d6, and also an additional +d3 for any rending hits.

There are games with that secondary condition as well. Depends on the game type. One way benefits one type of list, the other benefits the other. By splitting it this way, the missions encourage you to take lists that are somewhere in the middle.

@@wintersSEO I mean points is fair and doesn't give an advantage to either side, models killed/left does. In my eyes anything that gives an unfair advantage to anyone is a bad thing. Oh well, I guess I should stop expecting good game design, Games Workshop have never been good at the whole "making the game fair" side of things after all.

Another reason to not play HH and to always play WH40K.

Once you get the rules in you head it is. Especially compared to 10th ed where every unit in the game has a unique special rule 😅

the raven guard work amazing in HH2.0. the list he is using for them in this battle report looks pretty but is lacking their most useful units, which are mor deythan with combi-volkites... deliverer cataphractii terminators, which can deepstrike... and the #1 unit, the dark fury assault squad, which corax really should have as a retinue for himself, and are one of, if not the most powerful-offensively jump pack squad in the game. the raven guard don't have the toughest units, but they hit really hard and can really benefit from taking a lot of short range shooting units to alpha strike in turn 1 with their ability to infiltrate the majority of their infantry. concerning balance, with a few exceptions, i've found horus heresy to be far more balanced army to army then 40k is, especially if both players play astartes legions. in yed general, the majority of games i've played in HH have been very close ones, which I love and showcases well balanced armies. hope you give it a try. i've really enjoyed it, much more then 40k these days.
