While 100% true, you *should* be able to rely on your KAC not experiencing a bolt failure or gas problem over 10K+ rounds. Although I have seen KAC carriers fail.

@@hannibalbarca2939 Yeah LMT ENHANCED Bolt is almost indestructible. I think Crane tested one and gave up after 36k rounds because they couldn't brake the Bolt. KAC E3 Bolt are phenomenal. Sucks they are proprietary to KAC . Would be nice to use that in other rigs . I always try to have the same Barrel and Bolt from the same manufacturer. Only time I dont is if it's TRUE Milspec / TDP Part . Like Colt Bolt with FNMI Barrel or Vice versa . I would also throw in LMT E-Bolt as well because it was designed for SOCOM but was never adopted because it would not work reliably in Rifle Length gas systems . It was designed for Carbine length . I used to own Legacy Model SR15 a long time ago . Probably 13 years ago . It was basically Colt M4 Block 1 with Diemaco / C.C. Barrel . It was super nice Upper. Ultimately I traded it for LMT MRP about 9 years ago .

I wouldn’t call them group issues. The barrel printed 1 inch with MK262 which is nothing to scoff at. The Hodges is a unicorn for printing MOA with Wolf Gold.

@@fabiangonzalez-cortes8894 I have a gen 1 M&P sport that will shoot Wolf gold at 1 moa consistently and it isn’t just mine. Those 1:8 5r barrels are well known for that kind of accuracy. Definitely not a unicorn.

Also realize that the sage gun uses a Roscoe barrel instead of Sons usual BA barrel.

KAC makes great guns. I’ve never had anything bad to say about em. Geissele doesn’t impress me at all.

@@dannertactical Just my 2 cents, but if someone says the Geissele Super Duty is overgassed or inaccurate compared to an SOLGW, I would question whether or not they've actually shot the Super Duty. Geissele is one of the few brands that's not overgassing their guns. SOLGW uses standard $140 Ballistic Advantage barrels that use mil-spec port sizes (except for the one Sage gun which has a Rosco). Geissele makes their own chrome lined cold hammer forged barrels in house that are every bit as good as Daniel Defense or FN, except they actually keep the gas ports relatively small. While the Wedgelock is one of the most beautiful designs in the industry and very strong, Geissele makes probably the most trusted M-lok handguards in the industry, which is why USASOC used them in the new URG-I uppers and ditched the venerable RIS quad rails. Geissele's barrels are sub-moa, especially with match grade ammo. It's hard to compare almost any gun to a Hodge because they're unicorn guns and they're amazing. At least for a super gucci civilian gun, Hodge and Radian are probably the two best and both will outperform a Geissele or KAC in accuracy and fit and finish, but KAC and Geissele are going to withstand being beat to death over seas in the sand. SOLGW, while nice, is just a gun assembled by SOLGW with some nice parts from around the industry but with a pretty standard good but not great barrel and gassing. Their biggest appeal is their upper/lower and wedgelock rail, all made by Zev (and licensed by Hodge).

My experience has been SOLGW>BCM. BCM is solid but, solgw is a step up.

@@slowmo7500 I think the Mk2 enhancements make the BCM rifles just as good as anything SOLGW has going on. That new upper is pretty trick. BCM air gauges everything. SOLGW doesn't. For another $27.00 I can get a green spring from Sprinco and a 5 coil extractor spring. For a M89 rifle what are you looking at $2,000+ ? For a BCM mcmr CHF with the Mk2 enhancements your looking at $1,500 and change? Add $27.00 dollars in the same springs SOLGW uses. And your still under.🤷‍♂️

@@DutchK75 lol cmon man, solgw isn’t just slapping in a green sprinco spring into something that is otherwise the same as the buffer on a BCM. But hey, you do you, I’m not dogging BCM, (I was literally in the store to buy a BCM), they’re solid guns..solid, 100% milspec guns. Nothing more, nothing less. So, go ahead and buy a BCM so you can start replacing parts to make it what you wish it would’ve been from the start. The only thing I replaced on my Sons gun was a Geissele SD-C trigger.

@@slowmo7500 Actually the BCM buffers are heavier due to the improved spring in the buffer. If you buy a SOLGW M76 or M89 with standard controls, Liberty Fighting trigger, etc (Schmid Tool lower parts). The gun is still more expensive than a BCM with standard controls (Same Schmid Tool lower parts kit.) SOLGW do put together a good gun. Not saying that they don't at all. I just think they are overpriced compared to. BCM is more and more manufacturing their own stuff. All the rails, Mk2 extension kits, Mk2 upper and all the accessories are produced out of Vegas. I'd like to know where SOLGW would be if it wasn't for Jim Hodge and Roger Wang designed stuff.🤷‍♂️

@@DutchK75 it’s not just about the weight, the Vltor A5 buffer system isn’t even the same buffer tube spring, or weight as a milspec carbine buffer system. And BCMs aren’t shooting 1/2moa with 77gr, the coatings aren’t as nice, BCM isn’t upgrading their springs on their BCGs, BCM doesn’t stake their castle nuts, ..the biggest reason a company moves to manufacturing their own parts isn’t because “no one else can make it as good”, it’s for costs. When you make your own parts, you can do it for a LOT cheaper than having companies like ZEV or Radian do it for you.

More Jim knowing how to spec them...😉

The hodge wedge is indeed 7075. All other wedges aren't.

“Cheap handguards”, dude have you shot a Sons? Sons is the best rifle at the price they’re asking. Bar none. Their barrels are buy once, cry once. If you shoot it out, they’ll replace it no questions asked. Idk how you could shoot a Sons and walk away thinking it was a subpar product at a “premium” price. Go try to get a Zev, Triarc, or FN for the price of a Sons with a 7075 wedge lock rail.

The fit and finish on my Son's 13.7 is outstanding. Absolutely top notch, rock solid. I'm comparing this to my other BCM and POF which are also very nice rifles but I think the Sons is a little bit nicer.

Look at the material of the barrels and makeup and yes a cheap ass handguard. Look up some of the customer service complaints!

Yeah, that's false. Hodge and Old Mega Wedgelock are the only 7075/Titanium barrel nut. The rest are 6061/steel
