Very clear and also thanks for telling us what cheaper options we have. Subscribed. Other people are not as clear or intuitive as you. You are really special. Thank you
I bought the Sony 1.2 because of you, and I have been extremely happy with it. I plan to buy this one too, but I think that I will get the Leowa 12mm first because it seems to have much more perspective distortion, which I love for upcoming strange movies, but I do have plans to film in tight spaces that could benefit from the better image quality of the Sony lens. I think most reviewers don't want to show the strangeness of images because most people want to show relatively normal images and video. As such, it seems I have to buy both lenses. BTW, I also have the 24mm GM.
you should try Viltrox 16mm f1.8. That is an amazing wide angle prime and it is much cheaper than GM lenses. I have reviewed it awhile ago: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-WcIAekbz9Qs.html
Very nice sample pictures from this lense. I have bought one last week and learning how to compose ultra wide pictures. The lense itself is flawless. Sharp and luminous in every situation, no need for a stabilization, no aberration. And very small and light so I will carry with me all time.
Great Video! I love Ultra Wide Angle Lenses, and i own the 14 mm samyang 2,8 MF. But now i 've order the 10mm Voigtländer for my A7R3, because this lens is extremly wide and so i can create extremly perspectives. The Sony 14f1,8 supplys very good pics, but i don't like focus by wire and autofocus by an ultrawide lens, and i don't need f1.8 for landscape and architectur.
Samyang 14mm autofocus and manual focus options are also fantastic. Yes they have all the quirks but Samyang manual focus lens cost less than 1/4th the money.
Good video idea ( that is useful for me ) : Best lenses for SONY E mount to use with a Gimbal. Light weight. Also by price. For weddings. (I hava sony a7c)How wide they should be ? Thanks if you could make this video, you are a king !
I think the question should be: "Which gimbal is the best to use with majority (or all lenses)" not what lens is the best to use with a gimbal (which one?). Only you can answer the question how wide is wide enough for you. Wider you go, more distortion you are going to get.
Interesting! I love the 14 and wider focal lengths. I love the 12-24 GM, but it’s the same cost as a 14 AND a 24 GM. Keep going around and around in circles, and looking depressingly at the 14-24 Sigma. Too hard to choose!
It looks like an amazing lens and you get what you pay for. I love ultra wide angle lenses, I have the Sony 12-24mm f4 G which is fantastic and perfect for my needs. Maybe in the future when I start making some money from my photography I might upgrade to the 12-24 GM. Love your channel Pav. You come across as a really nice genuine guy. Thank you for this review 👏👏
This is only my personal opinion. I think that 14mm is too wide, it makes interiors look unnatural and way bigger than they are. I personally prefer Sony 16-35 or Tamron 17-28mm a little bit more versatile to keep the natural look
