Sony A7IV Photo Session | + Viltrox 85MM F1.8
This video is not an in-depth review of the Sony A7IV. It's just a normal photo session for my Sony A7IV with Viltrox 85MM F1.8 in a real-world shoot. I used Viltrox 85MM F1.8 all throughout the photoshoot with the natural light.
I am a fan of third-party lenses because of 2 reasons. First, it is cheap, and 2nd it can do the job done.
Sony A7IV is my favorite hybrid camera by far. Aside from the freezing part, it's all good. 33MP is a win with the autofocus system of Sony A7IV, i love it!
I will do more of the third-party lens photo session in the future like my Samyang 24mm f1.8, Samyang 45MM f1.8, and Sigma 24-70mm f2.8.
This video is a real-life experience photoshoot using the Sony A7IV with Viltrox 85MM f1.8
I hope this helps you to choose a third-party lens for your Sony A7IV camera.

Have you updated your Sony A74 firmware as well as your Viltrox 85mm F1.8 firmware? I have the same setup, no issues here.

what SD card are you using? i supposed its the SD card that makes the Camera Lag.

Hi. Thank you very much for this beautiful film. Your model is amazing and beautiful! I too have been working with the Sony A7IV and the Viltrox 85mm 1.8 II for a few months and I have the same problem that you describe here. After four or five pictures the camera freezes and I have to remove the battery for a moment. This is very annoying! Viltrox delivered a firmware update for the lens on 07/15/2022. I hope this fixes the problem. Greetings from Germany

Same here. From Fujifilm and until I shifted to Sony, i still used Viltrox lens.

No it's not SD card problems it's the viltrox lens I have same problems with the 85,50and 35 viltrox lens I'm using very fast SD card 300mbps. And when I use Sony lens my camera doesn't freeze only viltrox lens with Sony a7iv does that.. don't no y and it destroy one of my a7iv because I was keep pushing the shutter button and trying to turn off and on . So beautiful that it don't break your camera also. When it freeze just don't touch it it will come back after 2 minutes

After reading your comment, i tried it and tested with different lenses. I think you’re right. It happens only with Viltrox lens. Do you know the solution to this? After freezing, i just let it like that and it will be okay in a short while then it’s not happening again. But imagine you are in a wedding shoot and this happens. Waiting the freeze to be okay will miss an important part of the wedding. 🤦🏿

@@justcreatesg yes buddy I'm a wedding photographer and videographer as well it happen with me all the time luckily I have two Sony a7iv that I shoot weddings with when it happens I just use the other one on my side but it a big problenm to know that this viltrox lens does that hope viltrox update all the lens to work well with Sony a7iv because I have all there lens for Sony and Fujifilm too.

I'm using this exact combo! and I have to remove the battery every couple shots! its a bummer! other than that I love it but I do not want to have to keep removing my battery every couple minutes.

Same padin naman SD card na gamit ko lods d un nagkaka prob dati. Ung sa settings naka off din ang long exposure e. Parang may nakita ako na issue yata un ng ibang a7iv unit.
