When I saw it I thought "aww that's cute!" but I must say I am impressed with what Sony has done here. I really like the sound. Of course, a great singer can make anything sound great! But being familiar with your voice through all your videos helps understand the mic in front of you better. Thanks for the reviews and demos. Sony might just be taking my money - again.

Thank you for posting this demo! Wonderful singing! The mic sounds very good in your clips. I'm very keen to try this mic myself primarily for vocals. I would like something that isn't too hyped in the highs and doesn't emphasize sibilance. I am making a list of mics try try for this around this price range and so far, I'm looking at this mic, Shure KSM32, JZ V11 and Roswell Mini K87. Will be interesting to hear how these compare

Fabulous vocals, its always a blessing to hear you sing during these tests. Sounds articulate just like its older siblings, as well! I guess the mics go like this, C-80 > C-100 > GAP / WA 8000s > C-800G (if you can find one, that is!) 🎼🎧

@Jds Bleedo WA is Chinese clones. They copy schematics and use proper parts except capsules. Tgeir 87 and 67 are good. I have a video comparison between 87 mk1 and vintage u87. 47 is nahhh I don't like it. 251 more or less ok but far from Tele 251. C800 clone - don't hear it but feedback is not very good. So WA has goid and bad products.

Great video demo short and too the point as for the mic it sounds good too my ear it’s midrange forward which dose make it modern and mix ready although it does lack the airy top end of it’s big brothers the c100 and the 800G but you can always and some of that in your mix too so all and all a good affordable mic that can lead too great results if your looking for that modern sound good job Sony you too Christian 👌🏾✌🏾

Thanks! Yeah personally I prefer to have some leverage adding that topend is easy. I do have the GAP DLX which has a air switch which would probably work very well if you want more of a 800G feel to it!

fantastic vocals as always, sets these vids apart. mic seems to have a pretty forgiving top-end. very low sibilance for the price range

So you feel like the sound is pretty similar to the C-100? I guess maybe they are very similar circuit, and capsule wise other than the little mini extra capsule the C-100 has? I guess that little extra capsule picks up stuff way above 16-20k or something haha. I still like the concept/design for the extra fidelity, but in alot of situations might not be too noticeable.

I watched your C-100 review and I feel like the C-100 has more top end and more details. The C-80 voice quality is a little bit lower. Sounds about 70-80% similar.

Well you get two capsules with the C-100 😎 and.. different polar patterns! But if you're only using cardiod the C-80 is priced very well!
