I see nothing natural in Xperia shots at all. Most of them are underexposed, lacks of charity, have blown out highlights (bad dynamic range) etc. Only Sony fan boys believe that Xperia phones deliver naturally looking photos.
@@victorrumyantsev3718 I have the Sony 5ii and it's only had decent reception with Android 12 so updates are terrible. Camera shots are good sometimes but the camera app is terrible with weak flash and HDR is horrendous.
@@danilozoff1411 Completely agree with you. I used to have Xperia 5 II. I like design and size of it very much. And yes, camera is a hit or miss. I' d say too many misses for such expensive phone. HDR was pretty much non existent.

I've had both of these phones and both are fantastic. I was also surprised at how similar they were, however in certain instances, the Pro-i takes jaw-dropping shots that no camera on a phone can match. I say this because the grain is non-existent, the sharpness is brilliant, and the processing is natural. Great phones!
... oh. And the selfie camera is absolutely garbage. It's actually a huge reason I can't carry these phones as my daily drivers. I like taking selfies with my kids and these (like you said) feel ancient!! What was Sony thinking?!
@@jeffruth he is right about the front cams on both... they aren't great... but honestly... I NEVER use them except for random video calls.... but ok is good enough for now... if it means they can deal with no notch and more hardware things like the headphone jack and stuff like that... I am totally okay with it... remember 8mp is technically all that is required for a 4k image... that being said it has improved but could be improved further... but I'd rather them keep working on other areas of the phone... I almost never take a selfie and if I do I just turn the phone around lol... or use the vlog monitor...
I don't know why they still use that outdated Samsung sensor for the front facing camera. It might just be the deal Samsung made with Sony,if they have to supply them the 4k display panels since Sony is the only OEM Samsung has to supply those panels to.
Maybe they did that becourse of the bezels whixh was trimmed down for to avoid them so they hade to use that blody samsung sensor for keep the bezels as like they are now . But i agree the front camera is not good at all so there is hope that in the upcoming 1IV they may will use 12 MP sony sensor with 4 k videorecording 30 fps which is more then good enough i have send them feedback about this other ones here also should do that desto more feedback they get they will do something about .
having both phones... I would say that the PRO-I has a huge step up... especially in raw like if you were to boost shadows in the 1iii it has some struggles however... the PRO-I can boost shadows significantly more without much of a drop in quality... and also seems to be a bit better and retaining highlight information as well! I think would also say the 16 and 50mm are pretty solid lenses on the pro-i.... the only thing I miss on the 1iii is the 105mm.... and that is really it... video from what i've done is pretty largely improved on the PRO-I... The thing with testing these phones is they both have so many settings... I still learn something new every day....
I received my 1 III yesterday and (due to weather conditions here in the UK) haven't had much time to play with it yet, but from what I have seen so far it is a phenomenal phone. I upgraded from the Huawei P20 Pro, which I've owned since 2019. It has been a solid bit of kit (I've never owned a phone so long!) but it had started to slow down somewhat. Also, I do prefer the natural colours of the Sony camera over the sometimes overbaked P20 Pro images, which - whilst pleasing to the eye - do look oversaturated at times.

NO do not fall into the trap of marketing. All three devices have passed through my hands and I tell you that the s21 ultra remains a very powerful phone in terms of photographic performance, as long as you know how to work it.
I prefer the 1 III because it gives me a normal camera, but also has the zooms for improved compression. It just makes for that "something different" in my IG stories.
You missed the Pro-I dedicated facing mic at the back of phone, when you use the Pro-I main camera, or when selfie mode, with the tripod and screen to use the main camera for selfie as intended. That's how the selfie was supposed to be for the Pro-I.
Yes definitely I'm interested to buy Xperia phones over point of shoot camera No squabble... Addition of Picture profile so important, hopefully SONY adds this on either in Xperia 1 iv or Xperia i2. One inch sensor, SD card, Mic Jack, Variable apature & 70-105mm lens will win it for SONY surely. I also wish Sony would implement one button recording which super important in emergency situations.
Great video comparison. Would you still recommend either of this phone today (2023)? I see on B&H Photo that the difference is about $160 between the 2 phones. Which would you buy? If say, at a spare moment and you need to take a picture without launching the camera pro app, which phone would take better pictures?
The only thing I would complain about the Pro-i and mk III is the noise cancelling feature works much better on Auto mode than other professional modes on the phones which is unacceptable.
To get very good results from front cam,use the exposition slider to dimm it and steady the hand,and results you get is one of the best,compared myself!)
NGL, I think the Pro-I killed it in all the photo segments. Yes, not by as much as you'd hope, but I had no problem telling which camera had the better sensor. Still, good showing for the 1 iii. Pretty good choice for video production, even with the lack of stabilization.
To be honest the rest of the brand's bores the f** out of me. Apple, Samsung. Sony it's not a fashion brand with useless functions that only getting used in the advertisement.
So many sony fanboys defending this overpriced phone.... literally nothing special in camera department.. every over 250$ android has the exact same manual options in pro mode(and doesn't need 3 apps) and also in pro mode it doesn't over process the images.. the Sony sensor size is 1/33 crop which isn't even largest phone sensor used this days and with f2.0 it's just bad in low light.. if they made it 1.6 and 2.7 it would be way better
Another whiplash; Nice job Sony! I don't see the problem when there are so many other phones to chose from. It's no secret that the Xperias aren't for Selfie fans, at least not yet. It is nice to buy these phones and simply let people talk, maybe I'll learn a thing, two or not. People, when you buy these phones, go ahead and enjoy them. Don't let videos like this make you doubt it. Everyone picks these phone for various reason, and there is no way a RU-vid video could cater to all of ones likes. There are many things the phone did better than other phone, not to mention it simply looks better. Sony has done their thing, moved on, and perhaps working on their next phone which people will again buy, and it's not just their fans buying these phone (it's whom ever it appeals to). This one phone has given most reviewers a headache to review, because it simply doesn't fit the same cookie cutter like the others. Sony makes Dedicated cameras, phones and of course other electronics. I don't think Sony intended to replace their Alpha line of cameras with a phone; there are all separate devices. There are many interest to protect out there until there are ready to move to the next big thing. Sony is in a league of it's own period.

Which settings and mode are used for this shots? Mostly the quality depends on how you set up the sony for... Auto mode mostly doesn't make good pictures...
