Thank you! I actually just published my Motion+ review today. I’d say that the Motion+ has better clarity and more detailed highs, but Sony has deeper bass. I personally prefer the balance of the Soundcore speaker since Sony typically overpower the mids with their bass. But if you like bass then Sony will be the better choice!
Of course! The song is MK2 - Hey Now This is a free song from the RU-vid audio library (I wanted to use something that wouldn’t get a copyright strike!)
Hello, There! Thanks for the nice, informative review. Here's burning question. Can one use XB40 and XB30 as a stereo pair? One can certainly make a Party Chain out of two different models, but can they work as L and R channels of a stereo pair?
@@insidetechltd Thanks for your reply. After asking the question, I did some research on my own. What I found is in sync with your reply where the Party Chain regime is concerned, i.e. when all speakers are rendering the same signal. For a different regime, where two speakers function as left and right stereo stereo units (thus rendering different signals), the level of compatibility is much lower. I was told by the folks from Sony customer service that only two identical speakers can be used as a stereo pair. Any thoughts on that?
My apologies, I haven't been very clear. You and Sony are correct. Unfortunately, stereo playback is reserved for two identical model speakers. An XB40 and XB30 paired together would only produce dual sound
Hello my friends: I had the light of my Sony SRS XB40 permanent and stable, meaning no flashing, no DJ, no lighting effects, nothing but just a one color, stable light. But a couple of days ago I touched it something and now I can’t leave just the way I had it. I tried Sony Music Center and Fiestable, they offer “Raven”, “Cold chilling” and many other lighting options, but I don’t see any option to leave the light stable, one single color, no effects, no flashing, nothing else but just a simple stable light. How can I get that…? I thank you in advance for your help. Best greetings from Charlotte, North Carolina, Jose.
Are you sure that the Sony Music Center app didn't have any solid colour options? I just tested this for a Sony XB31 and there were a few solid colour options - these should be the same the the XB40 too!
InsideTech Hello my friends of Inside Tech: Thanks a lot for your reply. I see the following options: Light off Rave Chill Random flash Hot Cool Strobe Calm magenta Calm cyan Calm lime Calm Cinnabar Calm Day light Calm Light bulb I have not neither any “Solid light” nor a “Solid color”. Probably I’m not looking in the right place... I’m using Sony Music Center and Fiestable. Would you please continue helping me...? Best greetings from Charlotte, North Carolina, Antonio.
InsideTech Hello my friend: Thanks a lot for that suggestion. I tried each one of them and indeed those “Calm” options are better, I think I’ll keep my speaker in one of them. They are not really “Solid, permanent, Stable” lighting options, because they still dimm; nevertheless they are “Near, close” to Solid colors and they not flash, there are no strobes of any kind. Thank you very much, your advice was useful to me. Best greetings from Charlotte, Antonio. Post Scriptum: my friend in some You Tube videos about this SRS XB40 Speaker I see a different version of Fiestable, with more options and completely different design... where may I get that version...? it doesn’t appear in the Sony Music Center.
Try to consider portability: are two smaller, lighter speakers easier to manage than one large and bulky speaker? Do you want to have to pair the two speakers together each time to achieve a louder sound or do you want to simply turn on and play? My advice would actually be to get two XB30s (or xb31s). I think this offers the best balance between portability, loudness and battery

That’s not strictly true. But in my case, I used a dual microphone setup and synchronised the audio channels afterwards. It takes a bit longer but gives people a more true representation!
