Awesome! Husband tried for 3 days using written instructions. After watching this video I learned he hadn’t unpaired the old remote which had lost its silicone mic button. Hah! Old lady here has still got it! Thanks to Paulson!

This also worked for me on my new TV. When I paired another bluetooth device it disconnected my remote. Reconnected solved why my remote would not be able to use voice commands on the remote. Thank you so much!

I tried following your steps in Settings, but your Sony TV is not the same as my Sony TV…So I just decided to do your last two (2) steps: Hold the Volume Down and Hold the Mic Button for 3 seconds until the light flashed and it worked! Thank you!!!

Thats great for you; been trying for three days now my Problem is. I can activated Bluetooth for my Sony remote Control with voice Control but then Bluetooth dosent stay connected i think IT might be because of a Bluetooth App fix Tool on Google Play Store that has messed Up Bluetooth: the Sony remote still works fine but the Problem is my Sony Bravia kd-xf 8096 cant find on Bluetooth my Sony remote voice Control i probably will have to do a factory reset on my Sony TV very annoying

My Sony A9G OLED 4K has a completely hands free Google Assistant built in. This television has a red light in front of the screen that continuously listens to the voice command without having to press the google assistant button on the Sony remote. However, this functionality somehow disappeared about a month ago after a SW update. I'm not sure how to fix this issue.

I have seen it on other Sony TV’s under settings. Probably a security feature after an update that needs permission.

Tv doesn't support Bluetooth headphones and remote. When I connect my headphones. Remote switched to IR mode. Which is very slow and sometimes doesn't respond. Checked with a camera. Not all presses are registered, sometimes the IR doesn't light up. And sometimes one press to the right or left with get it stuck to scrolling right or left. Any ideas.

Try turning of Cec in the menu. It’s a way of controling external devices with your TV remote.

I have the same remote and same menu on TV. You know how you have one touch to take you to “ Netflix”. Or “ Google “. Can I reprogram any buttons to be one touch for any other app I stream. Just easier than going picking it And next step ok to open it. This way I eliminate a step for my father who has vision problems? Any ideas on how to go straight to the program

Sounds like the rubber membrane under the buttons is worn meaning that a button is constantly on. Probably needs to be taken apart to investigate

I followed your steps, but when I try to activate it, it says activation unsuccessful. Any idea what’s going on? I tried removing the batteries and replacing w new ones (the ones I removed were still fairly new) and it’s still saying activation unsuccessful

Hi, I did all the steps on the video (unpair - activate remote control) and nothing. I changed the batteries and still nothing. I don't want to reset my tv to factory because I have a lot of acc there. Is there any other solution?
