In the bible they talk about generational sins. Sins are passed down, meaning if your dad was an alcoholic, you will have a predisposition to addictive behavior. (BUT) you have a choice to reject that genetic info. Probably some of the blessings could also be passed down, and the good traits. (BUT) you have to accept it and embrace it and not reject it. God did say that you don't need a lot of knowledge to know that He is God because he made everything so vast and complicated that it's obvious. Only a fool says in his heart there is no God. He also inscribed a concouis in our heart or morality.

The nerve's route was relatively direct in our fish-like ancestors, but in vertebrates the nerve loops down from the head, around the aorta, and back up to the larynx. For those people that were not so restricted by the orders of their preacher, they can see that this is just another of the amazing adaptations that developed in nature. And that is NOT restricted to atheists - I was raised catholic in Germany, and the catholic accepts evolution. And it accepts the Big Bang and a 13.7 billion years old universe. Learning about the US christian fundamentalism is what brought me away from religion. Blind faith in what your self-proclaimed tells you, believers that declare certain people have to be erased, Creationism and Bible literalism. When you believe in a Flood 4,000 years ago that only 8,000 animals of all species survived cannot explain the millions of species that populate the earth today. You would have to postulate an ultra-quick diversification into all these species - a hyper-evolution. Only 8 people (and Noah and his wife were beyond procreation) survived. The only ones who deserved to survive, so faithful were they. They talked with God, got instructed to build a ship, saw first-hand the enormous power of God and that you better not incite God's wrath. They had to spread out again all over the world. 500 years after the flood, the pyramids were built. In all what the eqyptians depicted, not a trace of a monotheistic God. At the same time, we have the oldest written documents in China. Again, not a trace of the God of the Israelites. It seems that wherever the desendants of the most pious people on earth travelled, they resumed the cultures that had existed in that region, dug out the old artefacts and lived on in that style. The aboriginees in Australia - for 1,700 years they had no chance to hear that Jesus had come to forgive them their original sin (that 5,700 years ago their ancestors had eaten an apple that bound them for hell). It needed the british to colonialize Australia until the word of the Almighty God could reach them. Like 200 years before America, where the christians primarily were busy exterminating the natives and bring back the gold. Can you tell me what YOUR PERSONAL meaning of life is? You are persuaded that you are evil, only God's dictate, your fear of eternal torture in Hell makes you a good person. What a horribly negative attitude towards your existence and against other humans. I pity you. I am free to see people as they are - with their good AND their bad. You have to categorize all humans in the good christians and the evil rest. Where you do not even would accept all christians as worthy of going to Heaven when you look at the vast differences of the thousands of christian denominations. I yet have to find a christian that answers me the question that when you are believing that God/Jesus stands for love and compassion, why do you not go vehemently against those that abuse YOUR own God for selfish people, to enrich themselves, to control and manipulate people, to control them, to sexually abuse them? What I know that I definitely have is THIS life. I know nothing of before, and whether there is something after is speculation. I suppose the eternal black void is the counterpart of what you were promised to go to, eternal happiness in Heaven. What happens in your Heaven? Some say you sit there and praise the Lord for all eternity. Sounds pretty boring and utterly meaningless to me. Or is Heaven just like this world, only leaving out all the bad parts? Problem is that eternity makes ANYthing meaningless. After the billionth delicious steak you have eaten even that gets boring. Will you meet all your loved ones? In which mental state? We change over time. Will I meet my father with dementia or is he the guy at his top? Maybe he prefers his youth and to be with his girlfriends before my mother. How can you be happy when persons you wanted to be with til eternity are in hell? One sinful thought that remained unrepented is enough. Seems to me existence in Heaven requires a lot of brainwashing. Your identity, your memories will be cleansed to make you fit for endless happiness. Like someone with Alzheimer that forgot everything that was and everything he experiences he forgot the next day. That means it is not you anymore, it is some brainwashed automat bearing your name. Again, that makes it meaningless to be in Heaven. And then you are around with mass murderers who repented in time, while their victims might be in Hell.... You would have to do a LOT of explanations to work out an interesting Heaven for me, a Heaven worth spending eternity in. Of course, you are trained to see Heaven as the ultimate beautiful destination. All you are to "know" about it is that the thought of Heaven makes you feel good - NOW, in THIS life. No need to think about details (like above) - all will be good. The promise is enough. I can easily understand religion - as a means to deal with THIS life, as a means for hope and consolation, as a means to structure a society, as a means to control and manipulate people. I can even accept that for these purposes, religion has merits. That is a way better explanation for religion as that a spaceless, timeless, matterless, omniscient, omnipotent being created the whole universe out of literally NOTHING, created it for the sole purpose to create a world for us to (ab)use it, because the omniscient God is obsessed by us, watches us all 24/7 and reads our minds even in our sleep. Or does it make people feel good, feel ego-boosted, feel superior in the thought that they have the backing of an omnipotent entity the others don't have?

@@VisshanVis Firstly I would strongly reject the argument that there is no evidence of God's existence. It's flagrantly, stupidly incorrect - you are literally watching a video on youtube SHOWING you evidence of God's existence, which segues to my next point. Second point is that you are conflating evidence and proof. Lack of evidence of a position in NO WAY disproves or undermines the position: it merely means that the claimant is unable to reasonably PROVE their position. This is irrelevant in the God conversation, because no theist is arguing to prove God's existence. A theist understands that God's existence cannot be proven by mortal methods. So for anyone who makes the evidence/proof argument for atheism, I would respond: that which you believe does not exist is not God (we use a capital G because we are talking about a SPECIFIC, DEFINED entity that is greater than anything else. We are not talking about a god, but rather the God. Thirdly, assuming you disregard the abounding evidence of God's existence and we accept argumentatively that there is no such evidence, the atheist perspective still has the same utter lack of evidence of its perspective (claiming there is no God is a claim and does carry its own burden of proof). So let's go back to my other point you conveniently ignored: in an evidence based analysis of the question, in the best case scenario for the atheist perspective, there is an equal lack of evidence. Therefore we are left with a seemingly arbitrary decision on which side of the fence to fall with respect to the question. On one side, the unbeliever's BEST CASE possible scenario after death is an eternal void of black unconsciousness. On the other side, the believer's WORST CASE possible scenario is an eternal void of black unconsciousness (if they are wrong about God's existence). So, without appealing to the egregious lie that there is no evidence of God's existence, please explain the logic, reason or scientific principle that would allow one to reasonably adopt the atheist perspective? We will wait.

Jesus is shown to be the Son of God because he rose from the dead. This is grounded in history. If he stayed dead, then we have no hope, but he didnt. This is how we know he is God. Lee Stoble’s book the Case for Christ (he was an atheist who set out to disprove the resurrection and ended up finding it to be true) has a lot of info about this if interested.
