Umm, if they are this far after *TWO EPISODES* then are they going to be where I think they'll be once the season is over?!?!?!?

People were concerned that the start of the season won't be good with all the human on human action, but these are by far the best action scenes in the entire series. Absolutely amazing animation, great choreography.

Rivaille wasn't Levi's last name, it was just another way to spell his first name. People used it as a "last name" until his actual last name was revealed in the manga. Ackerman is his one and only last name :) Just clearing things up cuz I think Jacob got confused :P

Most of you might know about this but for those who didn't know: Three-four months ago, Isayama-sensei said that he was not satisfied with the ongoing Kenny arc that he illustrated in the manga, so he said there will be some changes in the Anime adaptation... Now, the previous episode just skimmed through 6 chapters of the manga and i see that many people are unhappy about the pacing of the series and the adaptation (idk why)... So here's the Official Explanation behind it by the man himself, Isayama says that "He was out of gas, after writing volume 12 (end of S2, basically) so he couldn't properly write the storyline of the next arc as he originally intended because he was tired of all the deadlines and other works". Isayama, himself supervised the production and the scripts of the series... So, what we are getting now in the anime is the Most Perfected Iteration of this Arc that Isayama-sensei originally intended for his audience to view... . . . . I think its important to remember that Armin was introduced saying that violence should never be involved just because you have a different stance in an argument.

Just to clarify - Rivaille is NOT Levi's last name, it's another translation of his first name but many fans used it as a placeholder for his last name online for some reason. Nothing to bring up/confuse Caleb about at this point. Great reaction. :)

Ok so if Caleb managed to figure out the things he said in the discussion without any help from Jacob then he deserves a round of applause. It basically shows that people CAN figure out future events/reveals in this show if they pay close enough attention. True, you do kinda need to research previous seasons, but the hints are essentially hidden in plain sight across the whole show. So one only needs to connect the (many) dots. This is why I love this show. With some detective work, you can figure out a lot of the details of the story. No plot twist or reveal is a complete asspull; you can theoretically figure out at least the gist of the story just from what the anime/manga shows/tells you early on.

Hayime Isayama (AoT creator) explicitly ask the team to fix this part of the story because he was unispired while writting it (also he approved the changes)

Animation for this whole episode was fantastic. Especially that whole sequence where Levi was fleeing to the bar. 11/10!! As soon as I saw where this episode ended at, I instantly thought of you Jacob and what your face was going to look like once you saw the episode yourself xD Also, my favorite part of the new ending has got to be the Ymir part. Her literally growing up and bursting into color while reaching out to Historia really got me in the feels!

This is mostly directed to Jacob but Caleb should know this as well: The Mangaka is directly involved with this season so any changes in this specific arc is made by Isayama himself, apparently he thought this arc isn't his best work so he wanted to fix it and said something like "this season is different so the story won't go exactly how manga readers expect it"

ahahahaha RIVAILLE is actually Levi romanized. That's a huge problem since when people dont understand japanese they need to rely on the subs or the translation from the manga. His last name was never revealed, if you notice in "No regrets" when Erwin asked his name he just said Levi, while the others said their two names.

As a manga reader of AOT it is very refreshing to see reactors that can deduce alot from the dialogue scenes and just as well from the action scenes (i love the anime pace - although it seems that the next episode will be mostly flashbacks). i wont spoiler manga stuff but Jacob's reactions to the suggestions and theories are great! i will just say this: if you can theories so much in the 2nd episode (for now it does not matter if you are right or wrong) the stuff ahead will blow your mind! keep up the good work!!

Absolutely loved this episode and all the information being dropped in here; being a manga reader, I do feel like Isayama's edits are good if you are looking from the anime-only people's perspectives. Of course, there were some scenes I wished were done and slowed; this is one of the better arcs, and if the author wasn't at his best when drawing this part, imagine what it will be like when he is really going at it. Plus, I do feel like we should not criticize Isayama for wanting to change (also, he is the first person I have heard wanting to revise parts of their manga when animating, so kudos to him). We can appreciate both the manga and the anime and their own different paths. This is one of the top animes on my list, and I cannot wait to see the rest of the season. I loved your reactions since you are really paying attention to the dialogue, and I liked how you guys looked back into season 2 for the details. Glad you caught on Levi's last name and how Hange and Levi were able to trick Sannes (surprisingly, many reactors did not realize Ralph was reading off of a paper). Also, I would like to point out how Mikasa finally called Jean's name XD; if she did call his name before, I must have forgotten. I like how in this episode, she is starting to show a bit more emotions towards others rather than just being focused on Eren and getting him back.

You guys r the best ❤ because you see many hidden stuff that other people don't see. This is why I like this part of the story (The uprising arc) there's less focus on the titan thing, but much focus on the lifestyle of the walls, how people interact and treat each other, how the walls socity is divided to layers and how people are hanging on living in this cruel environment where the world is made by someone and keeping people away from the bigger world, trapping them in a fake peace. So even there's a big threat to humanity, humans will never unite and each one will live for himself. You guys see that ❤ Levi Ackerman 😍😍 finally.. it's a very very important thing. I live just to see the Ackermans 😍 ODM-gasm is the best. I can stop eating, sleeping, drinking and just watching this mind-blowing animation will satisfy me. They cut the torture scene short, there was a lot more of Hanji that unfortunately got understandably cut. I would definitely check out this scene in the manga just to show that.

I just gotta say it: Every reaction I watched after yours was in comparison severely lacking. To the point that it made me mad how dense some reactors are compared to Caleb xD I mean everyone enjoys a show on a different level but I highly appreciate how smart ya'll are and how much attention you pay! POSSIBLE MANGA SPOILERS I gotta say, I love that Caleb is catching on the idea of "it's easier to kill things that you don't consider as human" seeing how dehumanization of the ennemy becomes a huge theme of the series later on and that it's what the titans represented all along. When you really think about it, Titans are actually the result of dehumanizing the ennemy.

There is one small difference in ymir's titan form before and after she ate that guy, before when she was just a mindless titan she had normal flat teeth, but after she ate him and became a shifter, her titan's teeth were very sharp cones.

Ngl this is the best animation I've ever seen

Last ep I was worried about the build-up we were losing, but this time all of the changes were positive. (I give no anime spoilers below, just comparisons to how what we already saw is different in the manga.) - All of the ODM scenes with Levi were really played up added to vsually and it makes perfect sense, it's the kind of thing you can't do justice in panels but you can do wonderfully in just seconds of animation, it was one of the coolest things about the settings, I was really happy how they made use of all that. - This is how Eren/Historia's and Reeves' death happens differently: in the manga they try to lure Kenny in by pretending that the two MP guys succeeded capturing them. They basically repeat how they lured the two MP guys in using Reeves again. Kenny sees through it however, kills Reeves and tranquilizes Eren/Historia despite Eren hiding many sharp objects on his body-which is really quite lackluster when you think about it. All of this gets replaced by a cart chase scene trying to protect Eren/Historia and tho I'm not an "everything must be an action scene" guy, I think it makes every character more credible by Eren's team going out their way to protect their greatest asset and the other MP guys pulling weight rather than just Kenny. It also helps to preserve some of the mystery about just what Kenny's agenda is. (Plus it's just more visually exciting obviously.) - Historia & Reiss' reunion happens in a different location/situation which already hints a bit at Reiss' character. I like this more because we truly can't tell yet if he'll be their enemy or ally and if Reiss is working with the other nobles or against them.
