Originally released with my full playthrough of my HD Remaster, I uploaded these separately as well. The last vision should have the black and red Reaver, but that was not possible to achieve in the beta version. Some effects appear in 4:3 form as that was the only way to record them in widescreen format. Unfortunately, these cannot be re-inserted into the main game.
Note that the order has changed from the PlayStation version - Kain and Ariel confrontation was swapped to make more sense.

Raina isn't the only guardian, we got strictly fantasy, the wiki, and the discord! Including Raina audron they all help to keep this franchise alive.

One little nitpick: When Raziel is struck by the Soul Reaver while it was wielded by Kain, he dissappears because for Kain "he just dies"; but for us, he goes to the Spectral Realm. His model during the vision vanishes signifying how this change between Realms looks like. In here, he just stood there, panicking and holding his head in horror.

technically it could just be Raziel's physical body left over, maybe it was too damaged to hold him there therefore pushing raziel into the spectral realm while leaving his body in the physical realm

But wasn't his soul absorbed by the sword? If that happens then I don't think his soul is in the spectral realm 🤔🤔🤔

@@raziel4949 If this is showing the Defiance timeline, Raziel technically would revive via a physical construct, therefore it taking his soul would leave the construct behind. If this is just the shattering of the original reaver, its just the physical reaver getting destroyed. because Raziel is the reaver, it can't destroy itself here which is why Raziel was fine here.

@@raziel4949 That was on at the end of SR2, that game wasn't made until much later after SR1 was finished.

@@Shayanzass No, this was showing a past cutscene on the same game. Since this is Raziel watching his past adventures across Future Nosgoth, this cutscene shows his first fight between him and Kain after 1500 years without seeing each other. This is the shattering of the Reaver in SR1, and even in that game, Raziel "dies" and goes to the Spectral Realm in both cutscenes.

I don't know how you did this, but it's a miracle you managed the Remaster the visions as well. From my knowledge they were pre-rendered so this is crazy good!

Luckily, there is a beta build with these rooms accessible, so all I had to do is to add the new textures in :)

@@RainaAudron So the beta doesn't play a video like retail but loads the gameplay area and models? I'd thought they keep the area and models since I imagine video file size would be considered large back in those days.

Thanks! Actually, it's supposed to be black and red but the debug menu doesn't colour it black as it should.

Gorgeous, beautiful. As all of your work. Thank you. This video made me feel like that scene in Rattaouille where the critic eats and goes back to his childhood. I hope in the future the final scene where Moebius appears for the first time can also be remastered. I don't know if that room was ever available for modifications

Thank you! :) You mean after going through the Chronoplast? That is an in-game cutscene and I gave him SR2 textures so he looks a lot closer to that iteration. You can see it in my full playthrough.

I really hope that your channel keeps growing. Keep up the good work! The Legacy of Kain series is among my favourite games & lores of all time. There is nothing similar even all these years later. There has been a german channel that made a playthrough with all games from Blood Omen 1 to Legacy od Kain Defiance but it is no langer active. The name of the channel is "MCMs Lets Plays". Unfortunately it's been 7 years already since he uploaded the last time.

Everything within the 4:3 frame looks good. But popping textures and limited effects would keep me from going to 16:9, as those make it look really broken.

The PAL version has a stretched widescreen available, but those codes don't work on NTSC version.

@@maxgorod76 No, this is for Flycast (Dreamcast emulator) only and only the texture pack itself can be added into the game, not the FMVs such as these.

@@RainaAudron no but I got it to work by booting Flycast directly on the deck. I’m still playing with it but when I put all the emulators onto the deck I used Emudeck.

As per description, yes. The side culling is because of the wide-screen, though.

the original old ones are much superior, the ragged old faded look really fit the game a lot better, as well as the era. It makes them feel more like nightmares

They don't have a ragged look, the footage is just low res.
