You were so missed! I have not YET jumped down the rabbit hole of spinning, but am extremely inspired by you to look into spindle spinning. I've crocheted and knitted for more than 55 years, using the availability of acrylic yarns. Then I ordered my first sick wool and am in love. Congrats on your Retirement.

Hey, I made a baby blanket for my own very first great-grandson out of acrylic yarn! It hurt my soul to do it, but like your recipients, my granddaughter was a first-time Mom. It wasn’t a hard decision to go for a practical blanket that would actually be used to snuggle my great-grandson in over a “heritage” blanket she would probably end up asking her Mom to store for her. 🤷🏼‍♀️ On the bright side, they used the “heritage” creamy Cormo wool/silk blend blanket I’d knit for my first GRAND-daughter (the brand new Mom) for baby Caden’s christening. Then I imagine it will go back into storage until the next baby. 💗

I came across your chanel as part of my fiber crafting expansion of RU-vid videos. I have watched quite a few of your earlier videos and enjoy the tips that broaden my spinning knowledge base. It's good to see your newer video. I come from a family of teachers, married into a family of teachers and those of us remaining are sorrowful to see the true teaching base being squelched by todays' misguided Administration mandates Oh, rabbit hole, so sorry. I'm just going to focus on fiber use in creating useful products items for people and the home now and in the future. Thank you for your approach to fiber/yarn creation.

When you stood on a chair to demonstrate the long spin of Vermont spindle I suddenly remembered a talk years ago about how the Venus de Milo muscle structure in broken off arms signified that she was spinning. Spinning is miraculous. Seems all the greats do it. :)

Great to see you again, and congratulations on your retirement. It made me smile when you said you don’t always finish projects quickly, I’m the same- work and the spring vegetable patch work have been keeping me away from finishing a winter hat I was making out of my spindle spun yarn. I also work in education so very soon will have a long summer break to catch up on the crafting. I’m a little off retiring yet so am quite envious of you!

I've just stumbled onto your channel, and I love finding crafters on RU-vid who talk about and show off their spinning! I gasped when you showed off the Project Linus blanket - I have an afghan knitted in that pattern that my grandmother made many, many years ago (she passed in 1999) and it's one of my favorite blankets to this day.

So glad you are back! I was just thinking of you last week and hoping you would post with the start of school summer break. I wasn't far off! And congrats on retirement! That is a lot of years teaching. I am a little over a year away myself. Currently on some extended leave due to a surgery. Recovering well and slowly getting back to crafting...this show really motivated me to get back to my spinning. I have fallen down the weaving rabbit hole, and am able to do a little each day. I'm so happy to see you back!! Last summer, I got very interested in drop spinning thanks to your wonderful videos. You recommended a book, "Follow the Flock" that I got and FINALLY read this summer, and it was amazing!! I learned so much. I've been watching a lot of JillianEve recently and got inspired to handspin enough yarn to try to knit a beret, and I thought I should check to see if you had any recent uploads, and you do! You came back at just the perfect time.
