We are pleased to bring you this short video to showcase the sound profile that will be fitted into our soon to be released sound fitted OO Gauge Mogul models.
The model in the video footage is an early EP sample and is therefore not decorated, changes have since been made to the model based on this sample.
We expect to receive production samples in the next few weeks and we will release another video to share these with you.... watch this space!

The sound looks to be much better synchronised with the motion than I’ve seen on any other steam model. I may up my Manor order to the sound fitted version.

Hi Jennifer, thank you for your kind comments. We are really looking forward to seeing the production samples arrive in the not too distant future. The prairie first shots should be in hot pursuit as well, so it really is exciting times.

Looking and sounding great, I'm definitely gonna get a digital fitted one but I'm definitely tempted by a sound fitted loco (it would be my first as I have none at all)

Great looking model, Dapol are really setting new standards. Any news on the N gauge Bulleid pacifics? If they are anywhere near as good as this model, they will really be something!

Never say never but there are no current plans by ourselves to make one. We have several N Gauge projects on the go and we would like to get some of them to market before we go considering more new projects. However when the time comes I will pass on your suggestion to the design team.

Just had mine delivered. Which CV’s can be adjusted to raise/lower volume. Mines far too loud when pulling away and too quiet when running at speed.

It looks like that is going to be a lovely looking and sounding Great Western Mogul. I am an LNER modeller myself and only in DC, but I have heard that there may be some sounds available on DC model locos soon. Martin. (Thailand)

Hi Martin, Thanks for getting in touch. I know several of our sound fitted models will also work to an extent in DC, our Class 68 for instance. You obviously don't get access to all of the functionality but it will make the basic running sounds.

The finished product looked good and the sound as good. I understand there is an update planned for 2022 so might hold off to then. I read somewhere about gearing being changed anything else? The decoder and pcb is housed through the smoke box door so does that mean one can't fit a Seuthe smoke unit?

Hi, I have never tried to fit one myself. I will ask the Technical department and get back to you. I doubt it will be possible to be honest though.

Hi there, there are sugar cube speakers on the pull out PCB in boiler (accessible through the removable smoke box door) and a base enhanced speaker in the tender.

Lovely looking engine. Plus point, fall plate between cab and tender. Suggestion, instead of a name just have "Right Away Guard" which station or yard staff would say to give permission to the Guard to start the train, having Mr Mathews would soon become repetitive and irritating.

It looks very nice but I wonder how close to £200 the cost of this loco is going to be. I hope there is going to be a soundless version, if only to bring the exorbitant cost down. For the price I suspect it is going to command, I hope the tooling is brand spanking new and far superior to previous versions of this model.

Hi Kevin. We are providing a full suite of models ranging from analogue, through DCC fitted all the way up to the full DCC sound fitted option so there should be something for everybody. Check out our online catalogue page via our website.

Hi, thank you for the comment, it is certainly too late for any additions to the current production run but there is always the possibility that it could be added to future runs. can I suggest that you make a post in the Dapol Digest with any suggestions you may have for future liveries? I know the design team review this before they pick future models and they are more likely to see when the time comes for batch two.

These are modeled after a batch built after ww1, so khaki wouldn't quite be right for them. Detail variations for other batches would be cool though in later runs though if the tooling is set up to accommodate it. Personally I'd like to see the later 93xx/73xx Collett versions some day.

Unfortunately, my engines are analogue controlled. So I can't buy a TTS Sound-fitted engine. That aside, I'm a fan of God's Wonderful Railway and I love the shape and look of the Churchward/Collett Mogul engine. But, if an analogue controlled Mogul Engine does come out on the shelves from you, I may consider replacing my Mainline Railways Bachmann Mogul with one. I do like BR-lined Black, yet I much prefer Brunswick and Great Western Green. I'm thinking of looking for something else of your status, if you still have it available: Egg Vans. Only because Sam's Trains, my favourite RU-vidr, has got 7 of them, that is.
