Joe Walsh was a musical genius. Some others you can do, "Rocky Mountain Way" and "In The City". Before this he was also in the group The James Gang. "Funk 49" and "Walk Away" are good. You guys have actually reacted to Joe Walsh twice before but may not have realized it. Once when you reacted to the James Gang's Funk #49, and once when you reacted to the Eagles' Hotel California. Joe Walsh was a member of both bands and played on both songs.

I saw an interview he did and he was so messed up, he could barely walk or talk, or even sit straight, but when he picked up his guitar, he played this song as if he could play it in his sleep. To watch him go from barely comprehensible to playing like he was born with his guitar in his hands blew my mind. He's since cleaned up, but it was shocking how he went from one extreme to the other.

The first time I heard this song was back in 1978. I was a traveling Salesman and I stopped at a restaurant to grab a bite to eat. It was being played on the jukebox and I fell in love with it. The rest is history.

Out of all the people in the world, Joe Walsh is some of them.

He really did live like this. He partied like nobody's business. Everyone else sort of grew up and straightened out their lives. Not Joe. He ran with it until Don Henley and Glenn Frey called him to ask if he wanted to get back with the Eagles for the Hell Freezes Over tour in early 90s, they told him he had to get sober. He said that was the best reason he'd heard so he got clean and still is. I saw him once at a Willie Nelson 4th of July picnic. It was just him and a bass player, and they absolutely rocked out for about 45 minutes. Best $20 I ever spent. Try Rocky Mountain Way and Life in the Fast Lane which really shows off his guitar chops. Joe is another guitar hero that came out of the 70s. I can still get chills when I hear him and Don Felder do the guitar solo in Hotel California. They played off each other better than anyone else I can think of.

Being in the band The Eagles, I would definitely say life has been good to Joe Walsh.

This is from 1978. But later he lost his 3 year old daughter from a traffic accident. After hearing of his little girl's death, Stevie Nicks who he was seeing romantically, wrote a song for him called "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You". This song is on Stevie's 1985 Lp "Rock A Little"...

For those outside Joe's Walsh's music and don't know much about him, if you want to go real deep, check out a solo album by Joe Vitale titled "Roller Coaster Weekend". Vitale was a longtime friend and multi instrumentalist who played on a lot of Walsh's music in the early 1970's. They toured and recorded together. Roller Coaster Weekend is from 1974 and features two 70's guitar greats, Joe Walsh on guitar and vocals AND Rick Derringer. Cheers from the canadian Queen nut.

Hey you crazy kids! Dig it! I saw James Gang way back in the 70's they were really tight. Joe Walsh did his best Pete Townsend impersonation and smashed absolutely everything on stage including a beautiful gold top les Paul guitar. As a guitarist it broke my ❤ heart. Every show!!!
