The fact that Soundwave was the ONLY surviving (unchanged) member of the original cast of characters after the movie really shows how popular he was in the series.
I basically stopped watching after the movie came out. Before I would stop what I was doing to watch that show and after they killed off half the characters I just threw in the towel. All to sell toys... Sell toys? Lost fans to sell toys.... Idiots
Wow! Soundwave went out like a boss! One arm missing, and still he kept fighting until he exploded, even taking his opponent with him. One of the best decepticons.
Galvatron only had Soundwave from the G1 Decepticon crew, the only one who survived beyond the movie in his original form. Guess that says a lot about his popularity especially with characters always being phased out quickly.
I'm quite amazed and sad that Soundwave wasn't featured that much in season 3 compared to the first 2 seasons, i think the Carnage In C Minor episode is probably the most i have ever heard him speak and displayed the most personality compared to earlier appearances where he wasn't as vocal but spoke in a very cold, emotionless, monotone voice. Soundwave for me was the only Decepticon left who was there from the beginning, such a shame that he didn't have more screentime in the 3rd season, i would have loved to have seen him in much bigger roles as he was by far one of the best Transformers ever.
If SoundWave was leader the Decepticons every attack He carried out would Logical and Efficient to the letter! The Autobots would have serious problems!
Then let this be the order of Hiearchy: Megatron, Shockwave, Soundwave. Sure, Soundwave is 3rd in command but he can always be temp leader when needed.
Favorite Autobot:Optimus Prime Favorite Decepticon:Soundwave Why Soundwave? Well,I kinda guess both Prime and Soundwave almost look the same. And I kinda like how Soundwave was so loyal to Megatron.
Actually you're the first person to agree with me on this lol. I've loved soundwave because he was an all around loyal, cool charater with a small army in his chest. Idk it was so cool to me when I was younger, and prime was always the meek, awesome leader that led the autobots. I have a masterpiece soundwave and a 20th anniversary prime on display, and i always thought it was kinda obscure to only favour those two charaters, but glad I'm not alone 😂.
One of the writers made mention of errors like that in the season 3&4 box set. Basically the toy company would show models of the new toys and possible names, they would have to quickly male a script figure out how to incorporate and rename all the characters over a few episodes without basically doing a role call every episode (aside from the headmaster episodes as there were just far to many characters for the few episodes that were left) then they would send out to board and animate and it was a rush job from the script onward. Talented writers like the ones for the first gen tmnt were on staff and made the show decent instead of a straight up commercial like they were basically told to make.
Ahh Japan, where Autobots, aka Cybertrons, could get away with saying swear words! Can you imagine the backlash if they'd tried to do that in the American G1 series? (There was quite a stir when Spike said "Oh, Shit!" at the sight of Cybertron's 2nd moon being blown apart and Unicron being utterly unfazed!)
This was like watching the final battle between Optimus Prime and Megatron only it being between Soundwave and Blaster where both combatants died but were resurrected by they're charges the same looks but new bodies and new names.
1st time watching this and mouth wide open. Terrible. Even his lines are off. Script screwed up. Too much dialog. Before he was just a catch phrase King. Not sure what this garbage is. Shame on those idiots trying to sell more toys
It's weird that Frank Welker only had a few lines for Soundwave in the 1980's Transformers movie and that was before and after the attack on Autobot City.
I was just playing my jaw harp for the first time in a while, and started talking into it. I suddenly realized, “Wait.. is is basically a hillbilly version of the effect they put on Soundwave’s voice”. XD
Actually, Ratbat and the autobot deployed mini cons debuted in the Japanese exclusive OVA Scramble city. Which shows the construction of Autobot city Metroplex and Decepticon city Trypticon.
When Soundwave and Blaster fought to the death, I'm surprised Galvatron didn't say "This reminds me of when I fought Optimus Prime when I was Megatron... Oh that was a bittersweet day..."
Soundwave my favorite Decepticon in The Transformers The Movie 1986 because Soundwave Voice is really scary and creepy and also Soundwave is The Voice Of Frank Welker he got a deep voice playing Soundwave it is really good 😆
If nothing else, I admire the fact that the Japanese series actually killed its characters in show, I know it was because the toy wasn’t selling, but still, it was nice
Given that the Transformers franchise has a cool tendency to be inspired by, revisit, expand, and even combine all sorts of details, including minor ones, It might be cool to see them use use the "Autobot Soundwave" animation error to inspire a story where Soundwave actually joins the Autobots, complete with changing to the Autobot insignia. It could be a further evolution of the more heroic roles Soundwave has been taking in recent years, like in Cyberverse and IDW Comics. They have already done it with Starscream in Armada (No Autobot insignia sadly) Laserbeak in Rescue Bots Academy, and even MEGATRON in IDW Comics.
