I returned to Lake Tahoe this time on the south shore and hit another coin Mother Load. I also recovered some gold and gave my Genesis 600 DPV and Garret Sea Hunter metal detector a work out.
Awesome video brother! So much fun to watch. The “herds” were hilarious. What a nice ring too.👍🏼💍 And the clip of you riding your jet pack around was awesome. Really cool footage. Good times man, always fun to watch!!. Wednesdays at three, you know where I’ll be.👍🏼
Thank you so very much for picking up all that garbage in the bottom of our preciousLlake Tahoe. I hope that ring was worth something to reward you for your good work of cleaning up the water!
This was definitely a cool dive. Have you thought about carrying a small sifting shovel or bucket? That might help you collect the targets easier. The ring was cool. I'm pretty sure it's an emerald. I think Tahoe is the only body of water I'd consider diving in. It's clear enough. I was amazed as to how many crawdads were in one spot. Thank you for sharing your dives, they are fun to watch.
@@mokpot True. However, I could have thought about being in a fluid state and that you need some sort of gravity to get leverage to scoop. I haven't been in water in many years.
WOW you watched twice! Yes is was a 3 ring bullet. I don't believe it is a 1 once mini ball like "AQUACHIGGER" finds, probably the same time frame though, it seems a little smaller but I intend to research it further. What style Ray-Bans do you prefer?
mokpot Lol yes I watched twice...I was in an Uber when I first commented but HAD to stop so I could be a back seat driver!😂😂 Yeah didn't go over so well!😉 and I was being silly cuz you found another pair of RayBans & it popped in my head...I need a filter sometimes! (oh who are we kidding, I need a filter ALL the time!)😂😂😂 at least I didn't ask/say every question that popped in!😉 I know I know... I'm killin ya smalls, I'm killin ya!😀😀 but I love RayBans... the Aviators & Clubmasters! 🤓🤓 Oh and that fab ring... it may be custom made, like someone had it made around the stone kinda thing! It's absolutely brilliant! I had to not say "Holy S*it!" out loud! 😀😀 I am capable of being in public... **Sometimes**!!😂😂
mokpot 😂😂😂 SWEET!😀😀 Thank you! I always warn people I have no filter... 😀 it's a birth defect I think of most Sicilian's! 😂😂🤣🤣 but I have to admit it makes things a lot more fun!!!😉😉🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡
Thanks Emily, Everything I pick up is trash. I take all electronics not because I love ruined cell phones, but because of the batteries are toxic. I always leave the water with as much as I can carry safely.
where they dumped the ashes, you might find molten gold teeth - if the crematory worker who put teh ashes into the urn hasn´t "found" them before you...
@@mokpot why? what is the problem? this gold teeth served the person who wore them as long a s they lived, and now they don´t need them any more. gold is and has always been in a recycling process, so chances are pretty high that also your own wedding band at least partly consists of recycled gold from such a source amongst a lot of others (like broken jewellery, old computer parts...).
@@mokpot I was at a night time jewellery class once and this creepy dentist guy was melting gold teeth in the class to “make a ring for his wife” ewwwww the thought of it!!
Thanks for the suggestion, I have used sifters in the past however, much like an Astronaut pushinfg against the sand as a Scuba Diver results in me moving as much as the scoop...
Always love watching your vids! I'm really liking these longer length vids lately. Looks like you took my advice from before! Haha I'm from Roseville CA, one day I may run into you on the American River or out at Folsom.
That ring is not anything new that is an old ring . And if I'm not mistaken Robert I believe only Asia India several places overseas carry 22 carat gold I don't know if maybe something Muslim or something to do with their religion but I believe their goals has to be 22 carat I know it does for a dowry..
Hi Lilly. thats really interesting about the gold, I had no idea. I agree that it is probably an older ring because of the style, I have not had time to research the ring yet, but as winter sets in I should. I appreciate you taking time to share your thoughts!
Dude! If thats a natural emerald, it's worth more caret for caret than diamond. People usually set shit stones in 22ct. That ring will probably be worth a small fortune.
It appears natural, and appears to be an Emerald, I can see inclusions in it, glass or lab gems are perfect with no faults. I should have it appraised. Thanks for watching!
Hi Carla, I have tried a scoop. Problem is that when underwater you are essentially weight less, so when you push the scoop you move more than the scoop.
Something I learned years ago thought I should pass it along...A person I knew lived in India for a year.. The Natives of this country are either extremely wealthy or opposite extremely poor.. zero middle class! The wealthy enjoy showing off their wealth as this gives them status to others..so it is nothing to see them wearing on one hand a huge emerald..ruby and a diamond ring and six other rings on the same hand of equal value.. However.. the jewelry doesn't have stamps.. that is something that one would see in the US and other parts of the world. .In fact pure gold they consider stamps in jewelry to be cheap.. This isn't the only region or country like this Egypt and other places are the same zero stamps in the jewelry.. Therefore.. on one of your finds ..if you locate jewelry without stamps this could prove to be a good find rather than a valueless item...Good Luck.. in your future hunts...nice video!
Glad to see you back. Why don't you buy one of those plastic sand scoops and a pin pointer it would pay for its self on one dive and you would get more targets
Hey Roger, I have a steel hand held sand scoop that you will see is an upcoming video. I ended up returning to fanning by hand, at this site it worked better. I think a plastic scoop would be nice because I could run my loop over it. Perhaps in the future... Good to hear from you!
Hi Robert, I am guessing here, perhaps they see and hear me coming? I have seen large schools of fish in the northern parts of the lake. Also Trout seem to be the predominant fish and they are shy. Bass are curious and will come and see what you are about.
I haven't caught up on enough of your back videos yet to know the answer, but I'm guessing you only take the metal detector on lake dives because of the currents at the rivers...?
This looks like so much fun wish I could do it. I tried to go to classes to learn how to dive but would panic with all the stuff on my face. So do you sell what ever you can like the glasses and rings? Love the videos and how clear the water is makes it even better. Have you ever had someone hire you to look for something they have lost? Looks like you could make some extra money diving. Thanks for sharing with us your hunts I know it cost money to do these dives.
I have never sold anything, but have given away a bunch of stuff. Fishing gear, paddles, and glasses mostly. I am considering a giveaway to subscribers soon.. Glad to have you tuning in!
I have a friend that has been diving looking for a $27,000 ring. I don't really feel sorry for the person who lost it because who wears a ring like that on the river? Plus they have insurance to cover it but still.
No one puts a low grade Emerald in a 22K setting . My mom was in the jewelry business and I learned a lot from her . That's a score . It's a more modern setting 1 to 15 years or so and the stone is over 2 carats . That ring probably cost at least 4 grand in a retail store and if purchased up there closer to 6 grand . Depending on the quality of the stone it could be 2 to 3 times that value in a retail high end store . Check for makers marks , if it's signed by a well known maker then you really scored . Good job .
LAKE TAHOE , AT 31 SECONDS INTO THE FILM I SAW THE DRUM AND ENGINE BLOCK , IT IS EAST SIDE OF LAKE TAHOE NEAR THE NORTH INCLINE VILLAGE .... I DOVE THERE 1987-95 ..... CLEAR AND BEAUTIFUL TOO ........
I’m so glad you checked that ring I thought you might just dismiss it and loose out. This is my first time on your page but I will see you again I really enjoyed your videos
I could tell that was an ANTIQUE ring and valuable. A cheap ring would not hold its color like that either. If you look up rings from the very early times you will see that they look cheap and junky. Also...invest in one of those plastic sand scoops and when you hit a target you will be able to bring up a bunch of coins in one haul instead of one at a time.
Hi Justine, Thanks for the suggestion of a plastic sand scoop. I have used a scoop in the past but, it is difficult to push a scoop into the sand while you are almost weightless in the water. Push the scoop and I move more than the scoop does, lol...
@@mokpot theres an Australian guy who does the underwater detecting and he uses a sand scoop sometimes. I think you would save yourself a lot of time and bring up more stuff at once so you could move on. Do you detect where people park their boats out in the middle of the lake to swim and fish etc? I bet you would find a lot of jewelry under wear they do those sort of activities.
i believe you may be talking about my friend Michael Oliver? Notice that he uses the scoop when he is hunting standing up in the water. He never uses the scoop when he is diving on his Hooka system, which is like Scuba diving, for the same reasons I do not use a scoop underwater
I always enjoy your post, such cool finds. The Crawfish herds are amazing and their huge. Our Crawfish back here a small, half the size of yours! Goodness sakes that's glasses galore, alot of squinting people out there 😎. The ring is a awesome find, some poor gal is sad over losing that one.
lake of the sky appears to be a virgin area. I would expect areas near the dam to be good or any phased out beaches or marinas. The washoe tribe was there and fished. should be points in shallower areas and along banks. Silver Comstock Mine. Old logs are worth $$$$$ and logging was big during mine operation and the lake was used for all transportation. Old railway depot at tahoe tavern area. There were railroad tracks that surrounded the lake and tourists were dropped off at a multitude of stops. There was a myth that because of the altitude, you coudn't float in the lake. In 1950 that was dispelled. you can adjust where you look based on that.
Oh! Hi, I'd like to place an order for some RayBans....😂😂😂 Sorry it was funnier in my head....then again my head is funny so..... **?SQUIRREL!!!** 😂😂😂😂
Andie lol. I think it’s awesome. And I think it’s killer to see you over here on Mokpot’s channel. He has some great videos, and always puts on a great show.👍🏼 SQUIRREL! 😂🤣😂👍🏼
Andie where I live, it’s a recreational spot. So my “suppliers” have stopped coming. So there’s nothing much to find. I may get in the water one more time, just to do a little cleanup. Or I may do a “best of the summer finds”But my next video will be Saturday just to announce the winners of the contest. And we ❤️ you too!! Right Mokpot!? Thank you for watching and subscribing.👍🏼😉
Could watch your videos for hours, I also pick up any rubish I see, I call it Kama pick up the trash and you will be rewarded (eventualy) Great videos, keep them coming, From New Zealand , GL &HH
It's an Emerald, they always look scratched up and usually you'll see some small cracks on gemmy cuts. My dad's Emerald ring is of similar size but he chipped a tiny piece off next to the bezel. That should be quite valuable! Great video am subscribing hope you do land metal detecting too!
1). What’s the deepest you have gone in Lake Tahoe? 2). What’s the most valuable item you’ve ever found? 3). What’s the most interesting thing(s) you’ve seen? 4). Your face cheeks look exposed in the water. Is frostbite ever a concern? 5) Any kind of life that you were surprised to see?
I assume you are asking about Lake Tahoe specifically... 1) I will say "beyond recreational limits, which is beyond 130 feet deep. I do not speak in specific depths, it tend to bring out self proclaimed experts who, offer unsolicited advice and criticism. I am trained and experienced in advanced Technical Diving. 2) Most valuable... perhaps the 22K gold and emerald ring I found on this dive. 3) Most interesting... The drop off into the deepest part of the lake at Cal/Neva ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-YffS_Cy4kzg.html 4) While it can be very cold at depth, frostbite has never occurred. Perhaps because the water is not frozen... which would be a rough dive lol. 5) Large schools of large trout, I saw this on more than one occasion between 80 and 120 feet deep, in the same area as in question 3.
Hi Polly, That would require lawmakers to make a decision..lol People do get rid of them Filipe, they throw them away, often in the water... Besides, if I find a penny I only need 99 more to have a dollar!
Um I would disagree on the ring, most likely hand made, and silver....also no offense meant but please leave the crematorium tags behind, it's where that person or their family chose to put them, and there is nothing illegal about doing so, and so makes it feel a bit like removing someones headstone and calling it a piece for your garden collection. 😬Enjoyed the video though.
Hi Katherine, I don't mind you disagreeing about anything at all. Thank you for tuning in and taking time to comment. I will start at the beginning and address your comments in order. The ring, it has a makers mark and stamp indicating the gold content. The Crematory tag, I did not expect to find one there, the writing is far to small to be read underwater so I had no idea what is was. It is indeed illegal to dispose of human remains in Lake Tahoe. Personally I feel there is a moral component and lack of sound judgement to dump said remains near a popular swimming beach. I have only a collection of recovered anchors in my garden. I am glad you were able to enjoy some of the video!
Hey Michael, Yes this was one dive, about 1 hour 15 minutes. I use High pressure steel 80 and 100 cubic inch tanks. This link is to my video about my gear ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-DNaRD-H1MY4.html Thanks for tuning in.
During World War II a boat owner of a huge yacht Chicago's his throat and it's sitting somewhere at the bottom of Lake Tahoe have you heard anything about that I have the Discovery Channel video not specifically where he pulled the plug on the Nevada side but just like the check that out right away I think I have more money than sense I like you see if it's really there or if it's just a b******* story just found your channel find it very cool prescribed are you going to watch more videos I hope this might be a little hard to read because my talk-to-text is not the greatest
that lake bottom all silt , do you know how deep the silt is ? looked like a classic 1930's boat engine. . very interesting. going under boats scary, ritual human ash dump , lost its charm.
The bottom it sand, in spots there is a silty layer no more than a 1/4 inch deep. just a few waves of the hand and you hit the sand. Now I will confess that the idea that the area is an ash dump did NOT occur to me at all, I suppose it could very well be, is that where the ring came from? The area has dozens of engine blocks that were used as anchorage weights. Thanks for tuning in!
thanks, as to the ring, the mortician would have kept that and any gold teeth , body parts have value research , ACL , we dont get burned or buried with anything of value. ha ha
Dang, you found a black powder bullet, someone must have tried to shoot Tessie! I had no idea there are Crawdads in Tahoe, too cold for Black Bass, too cold for me too! =8^o If ya get a chance go down the Sacramento Deep Water Channel and see if you can find my Zippo lighter I lost back in about the 90's, its betewen Sacramento and the Pacific Ocean, oh, I lost a Proto Pipe in the American River by one of the downstream islands next to Arden Ponds too in the 70's =8^( hahahahah You must have been diving a California beach, if you go over to the Nevada side I bet you will find gambling chips! Nice find on the ring!
If it did not have the reflective tape it must have been one of my old ones hahahahah, I like silver for clear water and gold for murky water but red reflective take seems to work really good when they are bubbles from rapids but I could not do a lot of testing since I never had that many with the red reflective tape, I like Panther Martin's with the tail on them too! if ya meant the Proto Pipe, no, they are brass...
Amazing hunt! The ring is gorgeous. I found my first gold this last summer too, i know that feeling of joy. Looks like i am gonna watch lot's of your videos today. so glad i found you. Cheers!
I'm glad you found me too. Congratulations on your first gold! Valuable metals are always exciting to find. I watched your coin spill video, any more detecting videos coming? Good to hear from you.
Aww thank you for watching my video. It was over 50 coins under the tree. They say money doesn't grow on the tree, but how about under? (smile). It is so cold that i'm not sure about detecting here. But i do plan trip to Punta Cana. Hopping for some treasure.
