Alabama Hills is easily one of my favorite nearby trips I've taken near Los Angeles. I spent one day there solo and it was such an amazing time, I'm already planning to go camping there sometime this year.
Alabama Hills is a little over three hours from LA, making it the perfect weekend or day trip. It's incredibly scenic and has been the backdrop for over 400 movies!
There's way more to see than can be covered in a day, but this video gives you an idea of what one day spent in Alabama Hills would look like.
