Fun fact about that scene from scream, Barrymore fought to die in that scene because she loved the idea of a slasher film that played and defied viewer expectations and convinced Wes craven of it too. One of the biggest reasons it worked was cause the audience assumed they wouldn’t off the highest profile actor (especially in the 90s), so when it happened it was a huge ‘oh shit!’ moment. And after they transitioned to the actual cast of actors mostly known for tv parts it put the audience on edge realizing everybody’s fair game. I fell like the impact of that is kinda lost now.
