This was my favorite grout to install -- first time using epoxy grout. I'm a DIY-er, and have always used the cement grout, so I was terrified after reading some of these comments. I am tiling a bathroom and shower for my teenage son and didn't want to have to mess with sealing grout every year. Grouting is never an easy job, and always requires clean-up. Spectralock went in the grout joints quite easily and I didn't have any trouble getting it off the tiles. I honestly think it was easier to use than the cement grout I used the last time I tiled. I changed the water quite often while cleaning up the mosaic tiles on the shower floor, so just used vinegar in the water since I didn't have enough cleaning packets. I am impressed with how beautiful the color is -- no issues with uneven colors or bleeding. I would definitely use it again and would recommend it.

My first time grouting an in-ground Jacuzzi. Temperature was 75-80. Mixed as per instructions. After 20 minutes I could tell it was going off so I had to work faster. I used 10% less sand as per instructions. I finished just in time to make a few small corrections. I wish I had a helper for the wipe-downs but the grout job came out nice. The next day the left overs were so hard with color throughout. Nice product, I was grouting over porcelain pool tile. For $95 I'll buy it again....... I love epoxy products. Hi Ken - thanks for the review! Some tips for your next Jacuzzi project... 1. When working with epoxy in warm conditions to cool the liquids prior to mixing them. 2. Store the liquids (and powder if possible) in cool areas or put them in a refrigerator for 30 - 45 minutes prior to mixing. 3. Warm epoxy will tend to set up faster while cool temperatures will slow the hardening process and allow for longer pot life. I tiled and grouted for the first time in the past couple days. I used this grout and followed the directions. Application was so easy. Initial and final cleaning was so easy. I don’t understand everybody else’s grumpy comments

I have used this product and I find it much easier to use then conventional grout. Ive used alot of different products and I find this particular epoxy applies with ease, with amazing results. Ive used it without even using the vinegar and still spectacular.

Put this stuff on no problem. Word of advice. Get a pack of scour pads from your local store. You will be wet sanding that epoxy off to break it up enough for use with a sponge. You can see in this video the video actor just uses a sponge, but the residue was already broken up for him. Dont wait 30 minutes after application either. Wait 30 minutes after mixing part A & B. Great product, but you cant slow-boat it. Keep throwing the grout down and move. I bought the commercial unit which covered roughly 75 sq ft. per package. So roughly 300 square ft per commercial unit with my 1/4 grout lines 18' tile.

Yes, this is a stain-resistant epoxy grout.

Hi Noah, The cleaning additive packet/water is essentially the same as the vinegar & water solution mentioned here. The two can be used interchangeably with the same results. - Ken

I really like your product however when are the prices going to come down. It is a really hard sell. The times ive used it on my own just to do a fabulous job, too much money for the grout. Great job on the product guys.

Do we need to apply a stone sealer to the finished product after it is fully cured?

LATICRETE SPECTRALOCK PRO Premium Grout never needs to be sealed in order to help resist staining. The grout it isn't even porous enough to absorb a sealer. Here is a great document to review: cdn.laticrete.com/~/media/support-and-downloads/technical-datasheets/tds191

The Initial cleaner and or final cleaner left a residue on the tile. I can't get it off. Does anyone know how to get this cleaning residue off? This video and the instructions that came with it never mentioned that the cleaner itself must be washed off at the end or it leaves this residue.

Hi Chris - thank you for reaching out. The cleaner is not what left the residue. That is an epoxy grout haze, and that is what has to be removed. You will want to use our STONETECH Epoxy Grout Haze & Coating Stripper, and follow the instructions on the data sheet and/or per TDS 198 located here: laticrete.com/~/media/support-and-downloads/frequently-asked-questions-files/tds198.ashx?la=en For the future here are some tips to avoid haze: 1. Keep the face of the tile as clean as possible as you grout with the float, that will make the clean-up much more successful. 2. If you run short on the cleaning packs (which often happens) you can use a mix of ¼ cup White Vinegar, to 1 gallon of warm water, and that will give you essentially the same chemistry as the cleaning packs. 3. We suggest that you change the cleaning water every 50 sq.ft. which greatly reduces the chances of a haze.

In my experience with epoxy grout, there's no such thing as final clean up after 1 hour.....The haze won't remulsify if you wait that long... You only have 1 hour to apply it, wipe it and do a final clean up. After 1 hour whatever haze you have will need to be removed with some toxic chemical that's terrible for your health. Sometimes it looks clean, then the next day you will see haze....It sucks! You only have 1 shot....
