Hi everyone! Let's paint a gruesome, bloody Crypt Guard for Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Grab your Contrast paints and let's get started!
Note: If you have to touch up the skin, Thunderhawk Blue + White is really close to the skin color. The exact mix will vary depending on how light your primer was and how heavy the contrast layer was.
Materials:
Grey Primer, White Primer (Ace Hardware)
Rosemary and Co series 99 sable brushes, sizes 2, 1, 0
Vallejo Game Color: White, Bonewhite, Offwhite
Citadel Contrast: Apothecary White, Gryph-Charger Grey, Black Templar, Garaghak's Sewer, Fyreslayer Flesh, Flesh Tearers Red, Contrast Medium
Citadel Shade: Targor Rageshade, Agrax Earthshade
Citadel Base/Layer: Iron Hands Steel, Tallarn Sand, Flayed One Flesh, Rhinox Hide, Steel Legion Drab, Dawnstone
Basing materials:
Stirland Mud
Coarse Gravel
Fine sand
Dead/brown static grass

Dude, watching you paint the toe nails was so impressive. Sounds weird but you could really see you brush control and control over the medium. Also just looks killer! Nice Job.

I started with the hobby about a year ago and watched a ton of videos since then. Yours are my favourite! Your colour schemes always look great, but doable :) That is the perfect combination. I started a tyranids army recently and try to follow your scheme as much as possible. And now I just purchased the flesh-eater courts army set and I think I have to copy you again 😊

First off, thanks so much for this video :) I didn't know what I wanted to do for a paint job on this model and decided to follow what you laid out here. Hey Matt another great video! But why do you alternate the gradient when shading swords? I might use that method for some of my Chaos Warriors, I've never seen anyone use that before on the other painting tutorial videos that I have watched. Also, would love to see your take on Ushoran, the Mortarch of Delusion. Thats an amazing looking model.

I like to alternate the shade gradient because I think it makes the facets of the blade stand out more, especially from a distance on the tabletop. It's similar to some of the NMM techniques out there, except with NMM they usually pay more attention to where the light is coming from. Thanks for watching!
