Speed vs. weight? 9mm penetration test- 115gr vs. 124gr vs. 147gr 

I'm not one of these overly safety types who freak out when someone doesn't demonstrate that their gun is cleared in the video, but your eyesight is too valuable to take a chance by shooting without eye protection. The chance of something going wrong may be small but safety glasses are cheap.

The .357Sig 125gr FMJ went through 7 2x4’s that I tested along time ago. It goes deeper through sheet metal as well, since it’s traveling I excess of 1300 fps, or about 250fps faster than 9mm +P

I would love a 1911 because they look cool. But 9mm and .357 sig are my faves. Next step, start walking. 9mm ain't gonna protect you from a heart attack bro. You need to be prepared for all scenarios.

Effective loads by weight 115gr should be at least 1200-1300fps, 124 should be at least 1100-1200fps, 147 should be around 990-1100 fps

Military ammo is intended to be jack of all trades weight. 62gr 5.56m, 115gr 9mm, etc.

This about it, .223 or 5.56 is mabe 40 to 60gr, but it's traveling 2800fps, and very leathal.
