Sir i had disc bulge l4 l5 s1region in january of 2019 But from march 2020 pain was zero Now pain is vanish for random days Or pain come after few days Only problem in walking What exercises i can do?
I have cervical and lumbar spinal stenosis. I've been in PT for 2 years, where I've had Red Cord therapy, cervical decompression on a traction table, and plenty of stretching and strength training. I do pilates twice a week, which has helped so much. I'll be 54 in 10 days, and I've never been stronger. Excercise and excellent physical therapy absolutely changed my life.
If I had money I would do 2 things at once . Decompression therapy sessions lasting 2 hours in a hyperbaric oxygen chamber. Open the discs up and force oxygen and nutrients into the disc promoting healing and hopefully regain some height and relief of the nerve roots. Hopefully this treatment along with a custom nutrition plan could see people not have surgery.( Although surgery is a good thing if you suffer pain and other options are exausted) Hyperbaric oxygen + traction/decompression + time = great results? Tell me this would work.
I hear ya. Saw spine doc today. He said I could get a shot but that will just put pain off for a few weeks. Getting outpatient surgery soon. He said that’s the only way to fix it as it will just get worse over time. We will see soon.
@@johnnyrodriguez276 no I haven’t. I’m miserable and seeing my Dr tomorrow. I’ve got so much pain in my left arm. It’s driving me crazy. Something has got to give. I’m scared to get surgery cause My Nurosurgeon wouldn’t even guarantee me 2 months of being pain free so I’m lost at what to do😭😭😭
I have had spinal stenosis for 8 years and 7 years ago I could no longer walk or stand. I was in a wheelchair. My son did some research and discovered an inversion table might help me. I was willing to try anything. So I ordered one online and started going on it twice a day for 10 minutes at a time. After 3 months I no longer needed a wheelchair to get around. Now, I go on the inversion table once a week & all the pain is gone. I highly recommend getting a table if you have spinal stenosis. It will eliminate your pain for good as long as you keep going on the table at least once a week, once your pain has subsided.
Glad to hear you're getting some relief! I have a lot of patients that have gotten good results with using inversion tables for their back pain. If you're looking to take it one step further, check out Spinal Decompression Therapy. Here's a video I made that compares the two: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-bVkz4FOS45M.html
Was yours cervical stenosis? I've been going on the inversion table 5 days a week, 10 minutes a day for just over a month. I can't say I've had any relief
PaleBlueDot Same situation as you are telling, I just've recently known about it. I got C5 and C6. Trying to read as much as I can and starting doing some buys very few yet. Would you lend me some email address to share experience and get feedback? Feel free to write me at bonischwartz7@gmail.com
My MRI revealed a congenitally tiny canal along with osteoarthritis in my lumbar spine. I wasn’t sedentary. I have been bedridden since Sept. ‘21 trying alternate approaches, but am about to give up and go for surgery. I just can’t take the pain, and have CRPS/RSD on top of it. No one will give me anything for pain, even though I’m a 63yo grandma without even one parking ticket.
I'm in crucial pain with Spinal Stenosis, due to lack of exercise meaning not being able to walk far I will try these. The video is very good and shows me more in depth of my problem thankyou.
I have degenerated discs, bone spurs and and a compressed spinal cord. A lot of stuff going on. Not really sure what to do. I am supposed to get surgery, but the neurosurgeon put me on nerve pain meds, then abruptly stopped them after telling me to take them around the clock. Absolutely horrible withdrawal. One day I called for my refill and they just never called me back, after 3 calls, total. That's when I decided that I'm not letting anyone treat me like that. Currently looking for a new dr
Thank you for the information on spinal stenosis. I was thrown about 20 feet and fell on my back. My MRI showed that I have spinal stenosis. I was told I wasn't injured and now I am living with the pain. I went to a chiropractic doctor but was worried his method would make it worse. I wondered what to do but now I will go back to the chiropractic doctor.
@@marjn1030 they do not work I was in PT and they were pulling my neck in traction 30 to 35lbs at a time it only made it worse not better! I don’t trust these Drs.
Please correct me if I'm wrong, so Spinal Stenosis is not necessary from bone spur, right? From MRI, I am diagnosed with protruded disc that causing spinal canal stenosis. I looked up Google to found out that protruded is another term for herniation. So my spinal stenosis is not from bone spur?
Dr . MIKE, You reinforce much of the info out there. My question pertains to the decompression / traction therapy. I have spinal issues including stenosis and facet joint in the neck and lumbar spine. Also scoliosis and chronic pain and stiffness for many years. I have a 1 inch shorter right leg resulting from a fractured femur in 1966 at age 15. Im now 69. That single trauma has affected my well being to the Nth degree. The cricki g and cracking in my spine is almost unbelievable. I've been to at least 6 spinal and neuro surgeons all indicated No Surgery for the lumbar area, maybe only maybe a C4 to C7 ADF (?). The neck is solid like a rock, loss of the curve. Shoulder pain, tingling in my arms on and off , muscle cramping particularly in the calves. It really does SUK. In 2019, I started decomlression treatments for both cervical and lumbar with a Chiropractor in White Plains, NY. After 15 treatments or so (Cigna and others do not cover this , but will cover simple traction), i felt only minor relief. After one cervical session, driving home, felt a sudden "feeling" on the leftvside of my face into my ear. Then started to have major tinnitus in both ears worse in the left. Lasted steadiky for over 2 weeks. I do and did suffer with tinnitus as well as sinusitis for years. I stopped the sessions. Recently, found a chiropractor who has focused more on the Atlas and Axis verterbrea. That seems a bit more promising. My research recently on line uncovered info about the affects to the The Vagus Nerve . That 10 th cranial nerve is the driving force to the bodys functions .
@@breezelight3357 Same i have no hope too many problems i tried praying i can't go to chiropractors anymore i feel like it's not worth it giving them high amounts of money for temporary small relief that doesn't take my whole pain away my life is basically over at a young age I can barely go to work like this I'll get awful flare ups every time I go to work and will ease back to less nagging pain but still im not feeling the life
You're awfully young to have untreatable spinal stenosis. Seek out a an MDT certified physical therapist who can likely not only reduce your symptoms, but teach you how to manage the problem long-term.
This video gives hope. Thank You!! All other videos offer zero hope. I know that there is something out there for all diseases known to humans the problem is locating the place that can help. I just did a search to see how far your location is from me and I'm willing to travel the distance, 1.5 hours, for treatment. Again, thank you for your video.
I am 56 and have spinal stenosis for several years. I've had numerous back injections, a spinal fusion and now an implanted spinal stimulator. All of these procedures have failed. The spinal stimulator has very little effect. I struggle when walking a sitting. This chronic pain has me in tears and I have not found any way to treat this. I guess I am reaching out for a solution.
Raymond Elizondo oh no, my pain is horrible they gave me injections but they only worked for 3 months. I have no insurance so no one will help. I can't live with this pain!!!!! How do you do it????
Raymond Elizondo Omg...i am in the same situation , didn't get fusion but had back surgery. And have been getting epidural shots that don't work. I am at my wits end with this pain. Let me know if you find anything josephconticchio@gmail 🤕
I'd look into conservative treatments such as chiropractic, physical therapy, and acupuncture. They may help. Since you've had spinal fusion, traction-based treatments are contraindicated.
My mother has been dealing with spinal stenosis for the past 5 years. Found out she was actually born with a narrow spinal cord. She's had injections numorous time which didn't work. She's had two spinal fusions and a stimilator put in. Which as of the end up of the month is getting removed. I wish I could see or hear form someone else and get their personal story. I've been helping her through everything and it kills me that all the options she has tried has failed...
SpineCare Decompression and Chiropractic Center I have done everything, chiropractic for quite a while. Physical therapy, in the last 6 months tried accupunture. I also went to a muscle disorder doctor. He was recommended he twisted me up to try and move my back muscles. Nothing my next move is a trial of the back stimulator. But most people have no idea what having chronic back pain. And I do complain about it because it helps my mine. Don t ask but it does. Any other options let me know.🤕
I've been diagnosed with cervical stenosis I own a Saunders cervical traction unit that I got when I broke my neck a few years ago. Do you think this would help? And what weight and times would you recommend?
I have Chiari malformation or brain malformations, so much pains and dizziness, neck, back ,arms legs, then someone told me omega3 balance oil has a anti inflammatory then I did take total of 4 bottles for 3 mons. I can tell you now Im doing yoga it will helps a lot as well.
Yes I've had my whole lower back fuse and I have that same pain you can't barely walk I've had a cold flex clamp at the top part of my lumbar. And I'm walking hunchback
I'm 40 I have spinal canal Stenosis, doctors said that" you have no other option without spine surgery". By exercise can we treat spine canal Stenosis? or surgery will be better? Please reply
I have severe congenital spinal stenosis with congenital neural Tube narrowing. I used to have pain. I have had this shots. Nothing worked well I have gone back to the gym. I do a lot of exercises to help me with the pain. The rowing machine has worked the best. I do not take and medication anymore. I know people that have had multiple surgeries and still in pain. Stretching and strengthening the abdominal muscles is of greatest help ever. I worked in a hospital nearly and or doctors office over 35 years. Sometimes people just want a doctor to wave a magic wand to make all their problems go away with any and all conditions. Yet they do not accept any responsibility for why the way they are. Especially diabetics and obesity and addictions. You have to work with your medical team. Listen to them. I am living proof that this works so well. You may need surgery. But you also need to follow their follow up instructions and that includes physical therapy. It works. The human body is miraculous when you treat it right.
I have try everything chiropractic and nothing works I have bad posture head forward and I can't put my back straight my neck and back hurts alot I'm 29 I don't have kids yet just thinking me being pregnant it would be so difficult my back would hurt more..Do you think I should get surgery to fix it now before having kids and who is a good doctor that you recommend?
Hi @SpineCare Decompression and Chiropractic Center , Dr. Rowe Thank you for all your videos, I really enjoy them and use many of your exercises. I'm not sure if you will see this but if you do I was just wondering in your experience, when is it you recommend surgery for someone with cervical spinal stenosis? I understand that stenosis is common for many and for some people surgery is not necessary at all, but for some people it is. I am getting so much conflicting advice from medical professionals and I do not know who to trust. I want to avoid surgery at all cost, but I also know my symptoms have been getting much worse lately and on a recent MRI they say I have a herniated disk and Moderate to Severe Spinal Stenosis on my C5/C6 vertebrae. I am 28 years old and am a very active athlete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. My main concern is I don't want to risk having surgery if it is unnecessary, and could possibly cause me more problems down the road, but I also do not want to risk putting it off too long and possibly becoming paralyzed/losing strength or dexterity. My chiropractor says he doesn't think I need it because I still have strength, although every time I cough my arms tingle/feel asleep/numb. I just don't want to put it off and eventually lose strength. My regular doctor says he doesn't think I am going to become paralyzed out of nowhere, but he does not see me getting better without surgery. I talk to a surgeon soon, and I am sure he is going to tell me I need surgery ASAP. I truly don't know the right answer. I respect my chiropractor and I understand and am thankful that he is trying to help me not be frightened or bullied into having surgery, but I also don't want to risk becoming permanently damaged, and I am tired of living in pain. Once again I don't know if you will see this, but if you do, I understand that all individuals cases are different, but overall, at what point do you see physical therapy/non surgical treatments no longer seem to be working and you would recommend one of your clients to seek surgical intervention? Thank you for your time, and sorry for the novel. I am just trying to get as much input as possible from as many professionals as possible.
What a bout thicker ligament flavum posterior, related to degeneration disc causes by trauma causes arthritis It is possible to treat conservative treatment?
I've had spinal stenosis for over 20 years and my surgeon told me never to go near chiropractors they make things worse. They just want to take your money. I'm so lucky I live in the uk our NHS is amazing. Ive surgery due to cauda equina which can cause paralysis. I had intense physio Ive always stayed as mobile as possible there's no need for wheelchairs if you have decent medical care and good pain relief. I'm in pain 24/7 but I'm determined never to use a wheelchair Spinal stenosis can not be cured it just needs to be managed properly
Hi Sir, how are you? Im looking for alternative way for me to cure. I have cervical spine stenosis, i post in my profile picture with my MRI result. I have weak both arms. Would you mind to help me? Coz i cant afford to do the surgery here in my country. 🙏🙏🙏 Please
Dear Dr. Michael, if only I am living near your clinic I would certainly look for your help. But unfortunately I am a Chinese Singaporean living in Singapore, which is more than 20,000 miles from the US. In my situation, I am 81 years old and have been suffering from Spinal stenosis, which was discovered since April 2015. And last month March 2018, I was told that I required major surgery of the Cervical spine immediately failing which I may ended up a cripple. In my situation, I only suffer difficulty walking more than 200m, as I need to stop or sit down but not due to any pain as I am a gym practitioner 5 days a week. I just cannot stand up straight walking but bending down.
Hi if you were located right in Hawaii I would be knocking on your door. Great information. I will be seeing a spinal specialist with in a couple of weeks. If he starts to talk about operating I wil definetely move on--not happening, If you do read this with in the next couple of weeks ---do you know of someone you could recommend on the island of Oahu? This to me is vital information. Aloha from Hawaii
I have Duogynon caused highly grade spinal stenosis. Decompressed. I nearly died from pain. Problems at toilette. I needed Oxycodon, cannabis and no alcohol.
Please please advise me in anyway you can.Im in the UK.My wife has had MRI and shown to have a dangerously compressed spinal cord which 6 months ago they considered URGENT as she is slowly but surely losing the feelings in her legs and the surgeons letter advised if she fell awkwardly she could be left paraplegic !!! ( she has also had 2 total knee replacements) and needed a laminectomy...however they have postponed her operation due to NHS stopping surgeries due to covid....I need help and quickly to know where we stand or what I can do to help my wife...nobody in the NHS is bothered ( no exaggeration)
sir...how to solve this problem..? all ready treat him by ijection & therapi but his pain is not ok now...pleseas help me by giving ans as soon as possible.
I have moderate spinal Stenosis and severe arthritis in my back . I was on a scaffold that collapsed and I fell 27 feet 42 years ago . Would a teeter inversion table help ?
Please suggest some proper exercises for lumber stenosis for 40 years male patient... He suffers lumber stenosis for last 12 years... But still able to do everything in regular life. Please suggest some exercise
I am off to an MD for pain management before I see a chiropractor for my stenosis. My crippling pain is in the hamstring area. Everyday is different on relief! 🤞🏼
I use traction, I made a makeshift rope and towel set up for cervical traction. It only gives temp relief. They gave me steroids which help but I still have tingling and numbness in my arm. I really don’t want surgery again, I’ve had 2. All this is from a car accident 2 years ago.
Dr. I just find out that i have SS in my neck and also i have my chronic pain in Thoracic (still mysterious) MRI always negatif and Xray too. I seeing many Dr but none of them cant help me.
I couldnt walk a section of a mall without extreme pain in my lower back and then the upper part of my bodies muscles would tighten up . Though i lives with this for 30 years but resently i had leg numbness and couldnt move my right leg so checked into a hospital and dang they right off wanted to cut me open but steroids are helping me so im delaying this unless it comes back . Every condition is sort of different with each person with pain and discomfort. I feel for anyone having this condition and wish them good luck . Pain meds and medical cannabis helps . Both works with the Pain and helps keeps you mind in a comfortable state of mind just dont drink alcohol. There's always alternatives
Dr Rowe. My MRI shows I have spinal stenosis at L4-L5 and L5-S1. I also have moderate disc bulging at both toes levels. My symptoms are burning and throbbing pain from my right gluteus muscle down the lateral aspect of my right calf and down to my foot. It’s like a toothache that won’t go away. I also have tingling in my left calf but no pain. A local doctor want to do a ALIF and Decompression. I’m reluctant to do the ALIF (fusion ) but may consider the decompression. However, my symptoms are Agra aged by sitting down or laying down, as opposed to walking and having to lean over a grocery cart. Although my symptoms don’t match the classic sings of lumbar stenosis ( identified by MRI), should I approach my problem as someone who does have stenosis ?

I have spent three weeks watching video and at no time did anybody ever say chiropractic helped? In fact they said it made it worse or didn’t help at all.
THANK U VERY VERY MUCH 💓 ☺️ 💗 U R THE 1ST TO MENTION AN ALTERNATIVE. BECAUSE THIS MEDICATION IS TOO TEMPORARY. I WILL CONTACT YOUR OFFICE AS SOON AS I AM N THE ILLINOIS AREA RESPECTFULLY CR
Great video. At 75 and swimming during the warm months winter found me in a big soft recliner with 2 15lb cats on my lap for far too many hours. Nasty rightside hip leg sciatica from lumbar. All home remedies no good so chiro tomorrow pt thurs and begin swims 4/1. Mri reads spinal stenosis. Also i see a cyst but higher up. Ostioarthritis. Pinched nerve? Wish me luck!! 👋👱♀️🇺🇲
The questions is does the bulging disc goes back to its place without any surgery and doing all this exercises and decompressions or it only provides relife ???
Thank you Dr. Rowe! Can you or anyone recommend a good spine decompression therapy location in the Chicago area south side or north side? I’m a senior with mobility issues and don’t drive; very difficult to get around. Thank you so much and God bless!!
I have extreme dizziness but not much pain. I was diagnosed with Cervical spinal stenosis from bone spurs in my neck but the doctor said it was not from spinal stenosis. I have passed out from turning my head to the left slowly.
my right leg is numb from side of knee to middle of side of upper leg but no pain just numbness but standing in one place it really hurts in the middle of my back I have had x rays and no way do i want to have any surgery done
This might only work for non overweight patients but when the majority of America is overweight this procedure never works. Hate to say this but you need to lose a crap load of fat get an inversion table with routine exercises and you have a better chance of eliminating spinal stenosis.
Hello sir hope you are good my name Mukesh Kumar Prajapati I'm suffering from back pain, my MRI Report is_""Bilateral forminal disc herniation at L5-S1 level, causing narrowing of bilateral neural foramen, compression of exiting nerve roots and lateral recess stenosis."" Please tell me suitable exercise for it and I want to know, can it come in normal position without surgery. I'm waiting your response. Thank you...
So I can help my bulging disc with a traction table? I have stenosis in my l3 to s1 Can’t walk, and stand properly. Loss of balance and keep falling. I need a miracle worker
Traction has a good track record on treating bulging disc successfully. This is something you'll want to discuss with your local doctor or chiropractor about. Thanks for watching.
I have bone spurs in my spine after standing 2-3 hours the pain is so bad I have to lay on my back. The pain also radiates in front on my rib. I am doing PT and exercises but pain hasn't changed...
Also what do you think about those neck devices you can get on Amazon that can help you get your curve back? I guess you lay on it for a few minutes everyday. Do you think those are safe for people with mild spinal neck stenosis and no curvature left
I bought one of those suggested by my Chiropractor..5 minutes at time. I lay in it flat.. doc says when curve comes back , stress is taken off the spine and relief..we shall l see. I have been diagnosed with severe cervical spine stenosis. I think it's from no movement during pandemic. A lot of people gained weight and didn't exercise 🙃
Hello Karen, I've used the McKenzie Method for years with C5 & C6 when they bulge.. using the cervical roll pillow to sleep and chin tucks several reps a day till the discs are back in place.
@@Guitaroverkill i found out now because i did an mri .. i had intense sciatic pain and they also found the stenosis. Most people have 15-27 mm spinal "space" but i have only 10mm ... and this is since birth.. they are bones... they cant change
Prod by Alenn I got diagnosed 2 weeks ago I haven’t had a normal day in 2 months my lower back and butt go numb a lot and my legs just feel weak. They also said I have 2 bulging disks does it ever get easier or only worse cause when I look online all I see are people talking about treatments or people in their 50’s and 60’s and i just feel alone I don’t think I have sciatica though
Osteophytes are permanent. Traction helps open up the foraminal openings, which could make it less likely a bone spur will come into contact with a spinal nerve. This removal of pressure from the spinal discs will help keep the spaces open after treatment.
