2:00 - Araniella opisthographa - Its a spider that belongs to the orb weaving family of spiders. Normally it prefers to make a home in woodland areas but i guess it decided it was a great day to visit the pier.
Nice little session for you Gary, Nice to see you back, thought you may have fallen in🤣🤣.looking forward to seeing you soon, kind regards Mike. Norfolk. Tight lines.
I always look forward to your video's as I'm not very good at fishing yet and you explain your rigs and what you're doing as well as the fishing .the yellow spider was interesting too keep the videos coming 👍
Just recently subscribed, and watching a number of your videos has given me the itch to get back out again, long day fishing planned up the coast this weekend.. so cheers 👍
i like ur attitude. I'm just glad where I'm from the fish are much larger (probably healthier to eat). i was born in UK but now way down under and the fishing is better than great
Nice little video, not every day can be a full on winner but atleast you didn't blank, I'll subscribe cuz I enjoy UK fishing vids but also looks very similar to the piers and ground I fish in my local area on the Isle of Man . Keep up the good work budski
Couldn’t agree more. I used to sea fish a lot in the UK - mainly Kent coast - almost weekly for 20 years or so; but, when you see, as I did, foreign boats coming in closer than my cast and just sweeping up every living thing; every small fish just for the frigging fish soup, then you don’t have to wonder why there’s no fish. We go to NSW for a month each year to visit family. We’ve got a little 2 bed house plus car plus tinny. Never had a bad day fishing out there (with one exception). Lake Illawarra for flatfish, minimums Rover for black fish; off Kiama for snapper, squid and salmon. You’ve just got to worry about sun tan lotion. The one bad experience happened when we had just flown back to the UK. Whilst out there, my son and I decided to buy a much bigger boat so that he could begin to take his children out with us. Got a very nice 22’ middle console aluminium boat with all the trimmings. Anyway, my son went out with a friend; about 2km off Kiama when the boat started sinking. Thankfully, they had their life vests on and, as is obligatory out there, the full range of flares and emergency radio (we had bought a top of the range model from BCF). Whilst they were still on the boat, my son tried to use the radio - brand new - and it failed. Kept trying but no good. Last thing before the boat went down was a flare. Now, with a radio , you know someone is coming; with a flare, you’ve just got to hope someone saw it. They spent over an hour in the sea and weren’t far from exhaustion when a lifeguard on a ski thing found them. They clung on and went to shore; full emergency call out of police and ambulance. Soon after , NSW Maritime contacted my son to fill out a full report. My son, as am I , have passed our boat tests and got full licences. Cut to the chase and the NSW Maritime were very unhappy with BCF and suggested my son gets hold of them. BCF took the radio away and came back to say that they couldn’t establish anything as they couldn’t test the radio as the radio was full of water - of course, it was ; it had been in the sea for an hour - but this was a radio supposed to work even when in the sea for up to 30 minutes up to 1.5m. Moral of the story, apart from always having safety kit, is not to use BCF. They are the B&Q or the Bunnings of the world - box sheds selling quantity and not giving a damn about service.
Nice video mate. Just getting back into fishing and been lure fishing for perch on a local pond. Been thinking of a spot of spinning from roker pier at some point through the summer.
Was just thinking about u other night ahha. I watched all the mackerel videos again i have seen them all but had nothing else and fancied abit macky aha
I'd love to go fishing in the UK. I've never had any luck fishing in Australia unless it was out on a boat. The last time I went fishing from a jetty I hooked a Kayak full of ladies who very kindly threw my hook back at me. Then I reeled in an old deckchair covered in mussels. 2010 it was and I haven't been fishing since...
@Mark Hepworth I was fishing in Western Australia. Mainly around Rockingham. I don't know but when I was a kid my dad caught bucket loads but not me. I remember the best fishing was way down south at Augusta. But out on the boat was up at Lancelin, about a mile or two out. That was where I caught 'the one that got away'. Easter 1989. I'd love to know what was on the end of that line. Heavy, big and black as it came up then my line snapped and it was gone...
Good to see you out again, I was out lulworth cove (durdle door) last weekend chucking a few lures out and having a spin, got me a few mackerel, 1 dog I let go, and a pb wrasse for the camera, had a cook up on the beach. Great video, where was this taken? 👍
lovely video. if i used 15lb mono instead of braid, would that be enough to get the fish up the pier wall? also whats your opinion on tele rods like the mitchell catch 10-40g 9ft? cheers
great video i am new to all this but i am going to cornwall in a few weeks and fancy a bit of spinning can i fish off any rocks ? and does in make a difference if the tides going in or out ? thanks for your help
Hi, been looking at fishing South shield pier, have a friend who lives there, just a quick question if you don't mind, is it better fishing on the estuary side or the beach side? Thanks.
Hi, it's usually better fishing on the beach side. The pier is still closed for repairs at the min. I'm not sure if it will be back open over the summer. The only place you can fish the pier at the min is the first part from the brigade hut up to the locked gate into the estuary side.
@@fishingintheukgarywood Thanks for that I'm hoping to get to sout shields later in the year to do some fishing, we'll it's our lasses 60th but the rods are going in lol any tips would be welcome.
Hi Richard, yeah im well thanks. I've been a couple of times at first light the past few tides and haven't had any yet only coleys. I'll be trying more over the next week or so, as soon as I get one ill put a video straight up. I think the weather and rough sea seems to be keeping them away for now but it shouldn't be to long before they show up.
Yeah mate I agree we have a lot less fish than Australia especially from the shore but we do have a few more fish just offshore that can be caught by boat.
