SPLAT Hair Dye Review and Demo Lusty Lavendar

Try thickening up your dye with a thick deep conditioner. When I used this dye on my sister, that's what I did and it made it much easier to apply, we were still able to get the color she wanted, and her hair was SUPER soft after we washed it out.

I brought that same dye but after reading so reviews I kind of nervous because some people say they love it and other people say it sucks but I also think I'll probably like it because I don't care what it fades out to as long as it doesn't turn an extremely crappy color

I agree with Barbie Isabel . I've used manic panic, punky colors, splat, etc. Most colorful dyes like the ones at hot topic are very conditioning (they're almost conditioners themselves.) Splat may seem like those other brands but they're NOT. They're stains, and yes, they look lovely and last ages, but unless you know for sure you're going to want that color for a LONG LONG time and are willing to go through the trouble of removing it when you decide to change it, it's not the dye for you. I dyed my hair bright red with splat and I loved it, but after a month I decided I wanted to go blonde. It took two color strippers and a bleach to get it out, leaving my hair white blonde, barely past my ears (they had to cut about 6 inches off) and even after cutting it all off, it was fried and looked HORRIBLE. It is so so hard to get out so if you do plan on dying your hair, make sure you're absolutely positive it's what you want.

I use this stuff to and they recommend mixing some shampoo into the leftover dye and just using a bit of that in whenever you shower. (Do it after you shampoo + condition) and then let it sit for a 3-5 minutes and then rinse it out. (Be careful not to stain your shower) I only had to do that once every few weeks when the color started to fade. It lasted so long that eventually my hair just grew out all the color and I had to redye it completely. This is really good stuff if you're looking for something pretty cheap/easy.

I've used red and pink splat and I really liked it. It was really damaging though, and messy like you said. But I don't bleach my hair every time because I let it grow out. I tried other dyes that were less damaging and less messy, but they faded even quicker.

I think this is the best review ive seen of this product. I loved the way your hair came out. I have very dark brown hair and ive bleached it with this kit and went ahead and made it lighter again. Now its a lighter orange haha but now I know what itll look like if I go ahead and dye it now from your video :) I really liked your results so now I feel comfortable to move forward.

I dyed by hair with Splat lavender over dyed black. My hair seems to hold color for a long time, I'd dyed it black like, almost a year before doing purple. I didn't bleach because I was too chicken, and it looked great. I dyed it on a whim, so was glad that it really only showed in the sunlight and was kinda purplish-blue in fluorescent. It stayed with the purple undertone until I cut 10 inches off 4 months later and dyed it black again. I'm about to do it again, but was contemplating bleaching "highlights" so that it would be different shades of purple, but now I'm too chicken that it'll be purple/brown with pink/orange highlights haha. So glad I found your video, I think I would have cried if it came out like that. Oh well, solid purple it is. Thank you for your review! And my gosh, you are gorgeous!

Im gonna be dying my hair this color inna few days & im really worried because i have black hair & in the past my sister dyed my hair with Splat red hair dye and it turned out really vibrant red it was crazy and that has been years ago & i still have faded tints of red in my hair from back then could the red in my hair from then make the purple hair dye more vibrant??

I did my hair purple. There was like big blotches of purple hair dye on my scalp and it was embarrassing. But I don't know if they will wash out or not. I go around in public so it's pretty embarrassing.

Just a tip, use foils when you bleach. But when you're applying a color like purple or any of those semi-permanant colors, you don't need to. The foil is just to trap heat. Which helps a ton when lifting the color from your hair, like with bleach. But not so much for coloring. You can, but it won't help much.

So, I have purchased the Pink Fetish hair dye and I was wondering what Semi Permanent does. I know it means the color in your hair will stay for a few weeks, but after it goes away, will my hair still be faded pink or will it be something else? As long as my hair is some sort of pink I'm fine with Semi Permanent. 😂 Also, When I'm done applying the dye, do I wash it off with cold water or with hot water?

Back on Jan 7th I dyed my 11 yr old daughters hair Berri by Slat for her birthday. It came out looking hot pink rather than more purplish. It's now end of March and it's faded some (she's a natural medium blonde) but looks absolutely Horrible. There's blotches where it's still bright pink then goes light pink and orangeish throughout her hair! This was supposed to be temporary, how do I get this stuff out without having to dye her hair?

so if my hair is already died another color like light brown if i use splat blue without bleach then would you be able to see it and would it mess with the light brown color? Also how long would it take to fade and when it does fade would it fade to my light brown dye that i already had?

Can I leave out the bleach? Since I have somewhat faded red hair?

I'm 10 and I dyed under my hair with splat the same purple in the video and it turned out as neon purple and its still here after a month but it now is pinks and ombre to white the reason its white is because yes I bleached it if you are buying splat please read the instructions carfulyy

If I have semi dark brown hair. (Looks blackish) would the splat bleach lighten my tips if I'm only dying my tips ??

@creeper I would suggest reading through some of the other comments, there are a lot of good tips about dying your hair. You might want to do a test section before bleaching your hair. Also, the longer you leave the stain in, the longer the color seems to last, but it will absolutely fade. It will no ever come out completely though.

I recommend Manic Panic. I found the spat products wash out far too quickly and dry the hair. Not to mention I had to keep bleaching the hair dye out of my bath tub.

If you dye your hair with splat and then flat men iron it does the color fade off 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭

I've used splat for years and love it! Super messy ! Lol. Try only using color protection shampoos and conditioners. Not washing in hot waters and don't let the shampoo sit in your hair. :) Washing only every two days or so!

Have you ever used metallic dyes and then used this? I'm just wondering because it has a warning and I have dyed my hair red which usually has metallic dyes in it.

I did this color after bleaching entire head (which burnt my scalp really bad), and after a week of purple it went to bright pink then to a pale pink. This color doesn't last long. I prefered purple passion starts off a dark dark purple. But stays purple. I did the purple hair for Chiari Malformation awareness month which is September. I have Chiari and had brain surgery August of last year.

i just used it to make my hair aqua blue

hot water with some baking soda dissolved into it mixed with some soap works wonders to get splat out of skin. The water has to be really hot though.

I tried the 2 day one, it made my hair hard like hairspray. Does this dye version make it hard?

When you use splat it works as a stain,not a dye so the longer you leave it on the better it takes. Leave it on for several hours.

I use the same colour as you and it’s amazing 😍 I have naturally dark brown hair but I never bleach my hair, I just use the dye and it come out so vibrant it’s crazy 😍 it also last soooo long without fading, i usually dye mine about every 8 weeks bc my roots grow super fast but the colour is still just as vibrant after those 8 weeks 🙌🏻 I have a review kinda thing up on my channel too bc it’s amazing 😊
