My 20- 24 with a 8 foot conveyor attached, was delivered early March. Edgar the gentleman that delivered my splitter coolest dude in Minnesota. Kelly and Amanda Did an outstanding job to. I could go on and on how good of a job that team did. By the way the splitter is beyond all exceptions. Kind regards Mark Tiedemann
Well done Josh! Nicely designed! I like the loading station where you can put many logs to be split. Not easy to get all the rounds to match perfectly the right size of 12-15 inches! Timer would be 14 minutes or even less, as I can see you split a second time the larger pieces, which was not mandatory per the rules. So you did a great time, without much effort too! The wedge handles well the split, they don't come back in the loading station. Auto-cycle is a plus in saving time. In my opinion, your entry is perfectly valid! Thanks!
I wonder whether you could reach to the other side more easily if you manufactured a step into the log lift to get a little more height for the operator, about 9 inches from the ground for one foot only. Instead of the step being in the lift, maybe a step for two feet further forward (below the wedge) would be better than placing the step in the lift. Steps on both sides would be good. This would be mostly an accommodation for people who are not as tall. There were times when you wanted to reach over to get an oversized piece for resplitting.
Nice design. Started at 4 minutes, done at 17 minutes. That’s with a couple extra resplitting what would be ok for my use in boiler. Definitely worth a further look.
I do not know what you mean about the levers. I guess you want a lever closer to the operator on each side, using a linkage to connect the levers. I don't know.
@@joshszydel8202 l have not looked at the temperature gauge as I did not know it was a factor until I saw it on you tube. I only run it about 8 hrs. monthly a hobby at the moment. Do I I replace the hydraulic filter only at 50 hr. And not the hydraulic only
That's a very capable firewood splitter you've shown there. Certainly would rival the other 2 main commercial splitters in the official Splitter Wars a run for the money. What's the MSRP on this splitter?
Wow I thought wolfe ridge was the best splitter next to a processor but I think this is a better design and that's saying alot because those Wolfe ridge splitters are absolute tanks
@@wvwoodman9280 Bruteforcemfg.com We have monster splitters. We have built them with 6 inch cylinders and 36 inch stroke. Currently building a 80 ton for a customer.
@@Jim-pw3wz Josh spoke in this video about how the main frame was designed. If it is designed properly, it can be strong without being heavy, by putting reinforcement at the weak points. He says he builds splitters up to 80 tons, so he probably knows how to do it.
Well the video is 18:09 long, and the first piece goes through at 4:05, so some simple subtraction would say that it took 14:04 to split. I didn't see any cuts but I wasn't paying attention for the whole thing.
@@joshszydel8202 how much for the 20-24 with a 6,8 and do you make any bigger wedges? Also with the auto cycle and fast split. How does the fast split work?
