Your hubby has skilzzzz! Your story about him designing that beautiful piece reminds me of my Grampie. Italian born, he was a tailor by trade. He made all of his suits, shirting, neckwear. When my mother was a teenager, she would point out an ensemble in Vogue magazine and say, "Daddy, I want that". So he made it! He could look at anything and just whip it up. I wish I had inherited that skill. Any skill, actually.

I love to hear about your Grampie, Catherine. My Grandpop came here from Italy. He made homemade wine in his basement with a huge press. I can still smell it. And he had a beautiful garden. Yes, Happy Spring! So thrilled to see you! First, Hugs for your mom and you guys take good care of her, and dad. Treasured neighbors! 👍 for Mark. His projects show that He is such a sweetheart! I've been keeping a daily eye on YOUR weather forecast. My grandson is in Cape May. The last week of April, he will finish a 10 week stint of basic training ; as a proud member of the United States Coast Guard. I miss him sooo much. He is my texting buddy and no communication, other than letters, during basic. He started texting me about joining the military when he was in Jr high. I thought he would outgrow the idea. Fooled you, Grams! 8 years, so I think he's serious. Oh,Yellow is my favorite color! Love that sink!!! PLAY IN THAT DIRT!💞

The sink is gorgeous! You should put some clear silicone rim around the sink edge and the table so dirt and water don’t get in there.. especially water, because you can’t get to it… you are fortunate to have someone so skilled and kind to make you such a beautiful piece of art and furniture 😊 it’s amazing and beautiful!!

I planted major wheeler. I “rescued” a large driftwood cedar tree from the marsh after a storm. I put the bare salt washed tree in the ground and planted the major wheel to Gris up it. It reached the top (about 15 ft tall) in a couple of years. I cut it back this year but it did reseed.

I LOVE your greenhouse and the sink is an amazing addition. (I honestly don’t understand why anyone in NA would want a Hartley, except to say “The Hartley” lol. BC Greenhouse has models equally as nice). Yours is the perfect size and beautiful. I put three of those little geraniums in a 36x12” cast iron planter 5 or 6 years ago, they filled it and came back every year here in zone 5b/6a. Gorgeous but I wanted a change this year, also put a few in a garden, they spread like crazy so I keep digging up large clumps to put in difficult spots. They are indestructible and bloom profusely in May here. Another fan from 🇨🇦

My husband is Canadian and was particularly pleased when I told him the greenhouse I was interested from was BC. He was born in Guelph. That’s genius! (The drainage system especially) The rough little “greenhouse” my husband built from windows and doors isn’t near a water source. We’re trying to get a rain barrel set up. Til then I haul water from our other rain barrels. It’s so nice to have a place to overwinter things.

Hey there - beautiful project! Kudos to you and your husband! I am also in South Jersey, coastal-ish zone 7a on the other side of the state, but similar weather to yours. As such, I am assuming you will have to shut down in the fall as we do our outdoor shower?

Hi!! I’m going to install a frost proof spigot to the house. I’ll disconnect the hose, but then on days it’s warm enough to use, I’ll just put it back onto the spigot. That’s my hope anyway. 😆

Thanks so much Jen! We have an outlet and electric inside. My Dad and I ran electric many years ago out to the shed that stood here before the greenhouse, and it’s been so helpful for the heater and lights or charging up power tools. Hope you’re enjoying your Spring garden!

Thank you! Right now it’s pretty warm! My main objective is to keep it above freezing. So in the winter months I run a small greenhouse heater with a thermostat set to 40 in the evenings.

Laura - I have such greenhouse envy! 🤓😍. Question: cup and saucer vine. I sowed my seeds too early under lights. My plants (vines) are huge (about 18” tall) with multiple sets of real leaves and tendrils. I can’t put them out until May - what should I do? Can I pinch it? And if so - any suggestions?

Nita Hiltner so just use house hold money to hire someone to do the things he doesn't want to do. I'm sure he has other good qualities not everyone likes or is good at everything. That's what I do anyway ..good luck 😉

Another question - 16:35 you mention hyacinth that the hummingbirds love, but I couldn't hear the full name of it (you mention growing it on your arbor). Can you please tell us the full name of the plant so that I can add it to my newly established garden and the hummingbirds will be happy? The transcript only seems to have picked up "hyacinth."

Hi! Hyacinth bean vine! They are an incredible annual vine. You could start some from seeds now, not too late. They are very vigorous growers and will need an arbor or strong trellis to grow on. 💜

I’m new to gardening, how do you regulate the temperature for greenhouses? Can it get too hot?

Hi! It can get quite hot. I have vents in the roof, and a vent in the back that automatically open when the temps get hot. There’s a screen in the storm door. I’ll also be adding some shade cloth and a larger fan this year. It helps that this has a couple nice big maple trees overhead in the heat of Summer too. Thanks for watching!
