Great video. I use Astra Platinum with a Merkur 39C Barber Pole, myself. Will have to give the outdoor shave experience a try. I will have to get a nice citrus shave cream now the weather is changing.

An excellent shaving routine. I have never tried any of those products but I do sometimes use Dunhill Desire Shave Balm.

Unfortunately, it has started to snow here in Dublin, Ohio, but I will try shaving on the deck when weather permits. I have never thought of doing so before but now I'm inspired. Thanks for the idea.

I bought a pair of Loake shoes for £34 on eBay then sent them to Loake for a new sole they came back fantastic with a new Dainite sole for £90 thank you for your tip.

Great video. I have a few razors but the Merkur 38C Barber Pole gives for me the best shave. Fairly aggressive and very efficient. If you like citrus shaving creme highly recommend Proraso White.

Excellent video. I will have to give Executive Shaving cream a go. Have you considered acquiring Taylor of Bond Street’s Avocado cream? It is quite a good spring/summer scented cream and one that has been a staple in their collection for years. It does not smell to me at all of an actual Avocado, but it has a unique fresh scent. I recently picked up a tub of their new Lime scent and will be using it soon.

Funnily enough, I love avocado to eat, but I'm not that keen on it's fragrance (I feel the same about banana) so I've always avoided the TOBS avocado cream, in fact, it may be just about the only one I have not tried over the years. But with that recommendation it may be worth a revisit. Thanks for the tip. You will not be disappointed with Exec Shaving citrus kiss - it is my undisputed shave cream champion!!

@@TheChapsGuide I felt the same way originally in regards to TOBS avocado shaving cream. I soon discovered the scent didn’t smell at all of avocado to my nose, but instead provided a uniquely fresh scent that in my opinion is perfect for the spring/summer seasons. Their avocado cream is a staple in their line that has been around for over a decade that I am aware of which also speaks volumes. Maybe a good cream to review in one of your shaving videos this spring or summer?

That outdoor shaving station is absolutely gorgeous, I can imagine that's a fantastic experience. I'm not a big fan of Derby blades either, I prefer to use Mühle or Feather blades, which are a bit sharper. Any tips on creating a good lather (with a shaving cream)? I'm able to get a good consistency, but it still dries up quite quickly on the skin.

These are excellent products, but I wasn't keen on the smell of the Bay Rum because I never ever smelt or been familiar with the scent. I'm more into shave soaps then creams because I do find that soaps are not messy like shave creams.

another great video, well done! 2 questions, Ash - 1. i just bought dunhill edition & love it (thx for the hint!). is dunhill D far off or quite similar? 2. i get the pleasure of a good ol' shave, but what's so special doing it outdoors (as it's quite a big topic on the channel)? thanks for your insights & keep up the excellent work!

Dunhill 'd' is a little sharper than Editon, but it is also quite zesty and highly appropropriate for the warmer weather in my view, although if I was pressed for my favourite, t would have to be E~dition, which I think is an absolute classic. In answer to your question about shaving outdoors, well in essence there is nothing different to shaving in the bathroom, other than that sense of adventure and the feeling of oneness with nature - or I may just be an oddball who likes to feel the sun on my skin as I shave, either way, it makes a nice change from the dull bathroom I think.

@@TheChapsGuide thanks for the swift reply! agree with dunhill edition, being a classic, so i might try 'd' as follow up, wether this or next summer (for winter 'for men' is on the list). nothing odd about the outdoor shave, was just wondering if there's more behind that (like a 'outdoor shavers community' or something i haven't heard of). great you enjoy it so much! looking forward to more videos to come - thanks & greets from vienna!

Have you tried any Truefitt & Hill shaving products? Their shaving creams are amazing.

I have tried their cedar and sandalwood shave cream - excellent stuff and top quality. Looking forward to trying some of their other products.

I would highly recommend 1805 by Truefitt & Hill. The scent is almost indescribable. If you put a gun to my head, I'd have to say it smells of the sea.
