Bro Trae has nothing to do with that whether it’s Trae or another guard the wing defense is still needed . the defense is #1 with Vic they need offense badly. Plenty of assists and draft capital to go and get whatever they need to gild around those 2 if needed and honestly they just need an elite 3. Trae, a 3, Wemby is elite on top of vasell and sochan already being there. But from your view they might as well trade back, draft Stephon castle and trade/ sign a few free agents.

Hell Heah.... Let's bring in Trae! I understand tthe concern about Trae Young's defense, but, Tre Jones and Blake Wesley aint gonna cut it either at the point guard position.. I mean, at best they're just OK on offense and defense, definitely not great. At least in Trae, it's just gonna be normal for him to notch or average at least 25 ppg and 10 apg in any given night. And if Trae is in the zone, he'll kill yah with a 40 pt, 15 asst game.. and with that, any Spurs opponent would think twice before double-teaming Wemby in the low blocks. Can you imagine what Wemby can do if he has both Trae Young and Devin Vassell in the perimeter ready to knock down threes or cutting through the lanes or wrecking havoc in the midrage area? Wemby is gonna have a field day down low and his assists numbers will also skyrocket. Having said that, Spurs also need a very good defensive wing player, or a guard, like a Ryan Dunn, or a Devin Carter maybe, hope we can snatch 'em both in the second round in this upcoming NBA draft. We got torched by Jalen Brunson today with 61 pts because our best wing or guard defender, Sochan, got injured, and Tre Jones and Blake Wesley were both unable to slow down Jalen Brunson one bit. Trae Young can match Jalen's production for sure. Just glad Wemby had a career night with 40-20-7 to save the day!!! But Wemby needs someone like Trae Young for him to have at least 10 alley-oops a game!

A Wemby-Trae combo could help the Spurs to score a whole lot of points. Wemby is likely to get even better during the off season due to his dedication to his craft. Teams have already been finding it more and more difficult to stop him this year. If he gets any better - even just 5% - he'll dominate inside in historic fashion. Add to that the chemistry between him and Trae and next season as wel as many seasons to come, could be something to behold.

How many good to great shooting point guards have made an all defensive team? Curry? Lillard? Jamal Murray? Luka? Jrue Holiday, SGA? Harden? Brunson? VanFleet? How many of these guys have titles? There's no defense played in this league anyway. Plus, there are schemes to cover defensive deficiencies. My squad does an atrocious job of getting Victor the ball in the places. Hell... they froze him out at the beginning of the season.

I'm all for Trae Young on the Spurs in my opinion. Trae Young gets slander for his defense but he is better than he used to be. Spurs can literally draft other players to help improve the defense. On top of that we literally have the best defensive player in the league who his just in his rookie season.

I see it differently. The combination of Wemby and Trae would be an offensive juggernaut. Trae would have less pressure which should improve his 3-point shooting, and Wemby will be an even better player in his second year.

What you mean to say is: "Wemby will carry Trae to make him seem better" but Trae on his own is not a good fit with Wemby. He's just more talented than Tre Jones. But that doesn't mean he actually levels up Wemby, it just means Wemby levels Trae up to make him seem better. Trae is not a good offensive player. Trae's shooting percentages aren't fantastic, and he's not known as a defender, but his ball-handling, playmaking, passing, clutch shooting, and overall ability to read the court and make the best decision are why I, as a Spurs fan, would love to have him come to San Antonio if the price is right.

We seen how Derozen game elevated playing on the Spurs he played better on the Spurs than he ever did when he was in Toranto and i iexpect the same thing from Trae Young. Trae never played with a player like Victor ever so not only will Victor life be easier as a player but so will his. Spurs is ranked 2nd in the NBA in APG Hawks is ranked 17th despite Trae Young averaging over 10 APG he is going to get alot more quality looks on the Spurs than he ever did on the Hawks and he will not need to be forcing shots which is bringing down his shooting percentages.

Yeah so 35% is below league average. Making him an average shooter. But I was referring to 30% in the playoffs. Which is what he is shooting, which makes him a bad shooter. Having the Spurs save Trae career the way they did for DeRozen isn't for the best of the Spurs. Its best for Trae. He is not a winning player or a Spurs type player. @@blablablaa14 Victor already said he is not going to be patient with this rebuild and i am pretty sure the Spurs know it so moves is coming. Spurs was already in the hunt for Trae Young before the Trade Deadline and pretty sure that will be revisted during the offseason. The Spurs number 1 priority durning the offseason is make Wemby happy. Spurs need to show him that they are invested in winning as much as he is.

Jalen Brown got 300 million dollars contract. So, how much will Wimby get 500 million , 600 million. Trae will get 200 million. Between Victor and Young almost a BILLION DOLLARS between the 2. So, put the brakes on high price players, Spurs history is the draft. Nickola Topic or Frenchman Risacher, would be good maybe leap to play in. next season. SPURS ARE A SMALL MARKET TEAM.

Trae would be a horrific addition. He's awful at turning over the ball (number 1 in the NBA), he can't defend well at all (Which Pop won't tolarate). He's not loyal to his teams (which at times play better without him). Oh and he also shoots 30% from the three in his playoff career and just league average in the regular season. I don't know why people think he's so good off one series in 2021

I don’t like Trae to the Spurs. He is ball dominant. Spurs move the ball. He shoots long 3s with time left on the clock, and majority of his assists are lobs from the pick and roll. Him on the court would limit Wendy to the mid range to the post on offense and forces them to defend out on the perimeter, leaving the paint open for cuts and lobs. Not to mention Young doesn’t have a strong reputation with the coaches. Marcus Smart or Westbrook would be a better fit than Young. Smart plays defense and brings energy, Westbrook brings energy and hunts for assists.
