Being licensed in both the US and Europe I can confirm the difference is nuts. If you bring your old car to Europe expect to spend months doing checks and getting it road ready if you even pass the driving test. Blew my mind when I got there that they took their roads so seriously.
It really is a pretty unique thing to see someone be so openly and radically inclusive in the motorcycle content space. You get hints of progressiveness from some creators, like I've seen Spite and Yammie Noob respect people's pronouns, but when it comes down to it I know more about Spurgeon Dunbar's conservative politics just from his "indirectly" political comments on the Revzilla podcast than I do about the politics of basically any progressives in the space aside from you. Some of the women riders do a good job of promoting women in the space, but they're also still hanging out with people that were posting videos of house parties they went to during the height of Covid, and I unfortunately have seen very little of them bringing intersectionality or inclusivity for other minority groups into the discussion.
Hey I just wanted to say that I very much appreciate your content. I’m a non-binary person who, while having minimal interest in moter cycles, is often blown away by how accepting you are and what a great role model you are. You do a fantastic job of fostering a safe community that also helps people learn and change their viewpoints! So sincerely, tysm for all your hard work.
My first bike was 500cc which was great to learn on before I graduated to a 750 Yamaha I moved to Johannesburg and it’s too dangerous to ride here so I’m currently without a bike
As a Dutch person I cannot imagine having motorcycles in my bike lanes, but then again our lanes are, I think, very different and better compared to America because of our infrastructure in The Netherlands. I cannot say how it is to drive a motor in NL however, but you got me interested :)
i work from home and "cross pollination" is useful but both me and my boss agree anytime we went into the office are output became like 20% the conversations had were all good and built up alot of good relationships across teams but that can be done in ways other then dragging people in everyweek instead hold events everyfew months and bring people in for partys and meals. send teams to conventions together. via that i built some crazy good relations ships with teams that were adjacent to mine and has been super important as were now working together and tag teaming stuff when before we never talked
Man I finished this video. Its great seeing a creator be relatable and personable. Btw fuck your tech job. My IT job at a casino let me bring custom mouse keyboard and a sick ass table pad. I also got to wear whatever I wanted (business casual on the casual side) meaning I had a work hoodie. You can find something better man
But without horns how will car drivers let me know they're behind me (as if I didn't already know) and express their dissatisfaction that I'm not squeezing up against the cars on my right so they can dangerously pass me, get stuck trying to squeeze by a car going the other way, and immediately turn at the next intersection?
I'm one of those queer leftists you brought over at least a bit. I live right by a highway, and during summer when motorcycles rip by I used to think, "Fucking motorcycles!" I'm still not really into motorcycles, but now when one rips by I think, "Fucking motorcycles ... oh yeah AJ. He's cool."
I am definitely for your approach on social media mutual aid. Personally I have a job that causes harm no matter what I do. The only way I can mitigate it is to be the person that helps, doesn't stigmatize, and also gives a point of logic to the people I interact with daily. Everyone except the privileged classes seems to be having a bad time in every sense of the term nowadays and tbh people aren't going to make it thru in a way that doesn't break them to fit some sort of mould unless we all nurture a sense of acceptance and challenge the concept of "giving up". (Sorry for breaking a parasocial boundary but acab also can stand for "all corporations are bastards." ) ( I have been binge listening to and watching your content, I'm one of those: "background noise needs to be present and engaging" ppl.)
In 24 days you have an entire day free. So around 13 days extra not having to drive to work per year. Every 30 years you get a free year. I'd take 12 free days, my boss can have the 13th courtesy of me.
Yes, poor keyboard/mouse is inhumane. I am very lucky; I get to have my own set up. I am friends with our IT staff and get a lot of leeway with how my stuff is set up too.
@SquidTips your right it doesn't matter. I wanted to know to use your vid to prove a point to somone I know whose homophobic. I've relised over the past like hour it's not with it trying to keep that person in my life
@SquidTips this convo with the person had almost nothing to do with you but I did end up coming out to the phobic freind and now there trying to change there ways
We do our best, but people ultimately have to decide they want to listen to a different perspective, and sometimes that only comes after they l lose the important people in their lives.
I guess you got me, just started learning to ride a bike on a Honda Pop100 lol, great job bringing the gays inti motorcycles, your channel came right on time to give me the extra motivation to chase after it
