Is that Wow, those are nice rifles? Or is it Wow, this guy spends way too much on squirrel rigs? Or is it Wow, I can’t believe he hunts with scopes that big? Or Wow, that’s a neat dog? Or Wow, this cat has no idea how to use a lapel mic? Or Wow, your Russian is awesome? Holler back bro! 🤣
Perfect pre-season content, thank you. I have a stable of 455's and out of curiosity ordered a 457 precision trainer. CZ really outdid themselves with the new streamlined receiver, 60° bolt throw, decently adjustable trigger and a threaded bolt knob. Thank you again for the content. Looking forward to y'all's hunts.
@@natebonebusta another Squirrel Stick has caught my attention and I'm waiting on my copy from Christensen Arms. It's there 22 Ranger. Carbon fiber wrapped bbl, carbon fiber composite stock, takes the Remington 700 trigger, threaded 20" bbl, Benz cut chamber and weighs in @ 5.1# so I'm hoping that will be the kit that hunts with me this season in the mountains. Thanks again.
Thanks for info on primos gen 3 stick picked one up today $100 took it out this afternoon with my cz 457 and got a couple of bushy tails really liked it probably put my spotting scope on it when I go to the range for some longer distance shooting guess you’re still happy with yours
It’s a very versatile platform. It should serve you well for many years to come. If you happen to leave them home on the way to hunt, you’ll want to turn around because the hunt won’t be the same without them.
I'm a RAZORBACK that's been in SE Nebraska for 30 years and it still bewilders me that people are astonished that I hunt/eat squirrel. Last year I moved into PCP air rifles ( Air Venturi Avenger, .25 caliber slinging 32 grain slugs, and a Center Point 3-9× scope) with a moderator (MOJO Sumo) on the muzzle end. At 50' you can barely hear the report. Get 25-30 shots off a single charge of 4300 psi. 8 round rotary magazine sure beats single round loading. Browning T-bolt type action. Kinda long at 50 1/4" overall length, but it keeps the enjoyment level high.
I’ve got quite a few followers from Arkansas. There are some die hard squirrel getters down in those parts. Glad that air rifle is getting it done. Squirrels are great to chase because of the game of the stalk, plus you’re likely gonna shoot more than once! Thanks for stopping by.
We like a lotta magnification round here! Lots of options out there. Light and built for speed I’m probably still going 6-20. Cut my teeth on a 3-9, always a solid option.
Tell me you like CZ without telling me you like CZ....😂😂😂 I'm getting ready to build a savage Mark II with a vortex strikeforce 1x8. I can't walk or shoot with that kinda weight like I used to, so I'm gonna start relying on getting closer and stalking like I did when I was young
Love the Rat Terrier, they are a great squirrel dogs not so high strung like the Jacks. Have you had a chance to try out the CZ 457 American? I'm looking to pick one up for squirrel hunting this year and retire my Kimber Classic .22 rifle I've used for the last 15 plus years.
She’s a great dog. Likely the only breed I’ll have til the end. I’ve only experimented with the 17 hmr and I liked everything about it. They lack an American with a 16” threaded barrel from the factory in the box ready to go for a silent squirrel hunter like myself.
That first 452. You had it cut down to 16. Was it choked with stock length? If so, did you lose any of it and it was fine, or did you have it rechoked? Just curious.
Yes I had it loped off before I even tested accuracy. I knew if I found it was accurate at 22” I wouldn’t cut it. Have no idea if it was choked or still is? Chop, 11 degree recrown, threaded .410 thousands 1/2”x28.
I did. Sold it. Wasn’t getting used. Eley is no longer making the more accurate round for the CZ. It is too loud for me. I’m now addicted to a suppressed 22. No doubt the Mach 2 hits harder and anchors better.
@@natebonebusta Makes sense. I've got a CZ 455 in 22lr and a 457 with 22lr and 17hm2 barrels so I can switch. Absolutely agree suppressed is the way to go. I always run the can. I appreciate your thoughts on 22lr vs 17 hm2. We will see how loud it is in the woods. I bought the 17hm2 barrel because I've read it is a reliable, clean dispatch and it tends to ricochet less. We will see if that's more valuable than the whisper quiet of subsonic 22. Keep on with the great content! Cheers from Wisconsin.
It will be quieter at your ear which will make a difference when you shoot it. I have a threaded 17hmr and it makes a difference so you will be pleased. I would agree with less ricochet from the hm2 vs the 22.
@@natebonebusta I ended up spending some cash today. Bought a cz 457 varmint weaver cz 0 Moa rail vortex diamondback tatical 4 x16 x44 with a sunshade and some medium rings and low see what works best lol. Love the videos man do some more gun videos shout out from Nova Scotia
Stealth is the main thing. My longevity of being able to hear later in life. Improved accuracy from the suppressor. Hunting in more suburban areas based on noise reduction. You know when you make contact vs missing. I’ve got multiple years worth of squirrel hunting videos to prove the point.
@@natebonebusta I didn't know about improved accuracy. And I can hear when y'all hit the squirrel in the videos. That's cool. I'm going to give a suppressor some thought in the future. What would you think about suppressing a .17 mach 2 if I got one?
I’d make sure I purchased a suppressor that would cover a 17hm2 in case you ever want to go that route. If they made ammo accurate enough and a rifle that I liked, I’d consider it. I have a threaded 17hmr, I can it for groundhogs and the like. It’s better in wide open spaces.
